How I got fuc*ed up

The light of the rising sun was entering from the windows, pointing straight to Julius' eyes, seemingly not bothering the guy… Or so it seemed. Actually, Julius woke up a few minutes before, but is main focus was on two things: the surrounding and the status screen that appeared in his mind

To say the least, Julius was a little shocked. 

The only thing that was keeping him together was venting his anger to the Divine Being he met before 

“That damn bastard… He could have at least explained something to me… Who could have thought of a person summoning light swords? Hell, what is with this damned status screen?... Well, I don't feel any chains on me, so it doesn't seem like they threw me in prison… But then why is there a person right next to me? I can feel his breath…”

“Have you decided to stop pretending? I'm getting a little tired, you know?” 

Julius froze, not knowing what to do 

“I’m High Priest Kalon and I'm the one responsible for recovery here in the infirmary… You see, I am a healing priest and I am used to patients pretending to sleep so, please, open your eyes”

Julius did as he was told and before his eyes there was a middle age man, standing at 175 (5’9) but with the broadest shoulder ever and the neck of a bull, with grey hair and hazel eyes 

“Ehm… Hello I’m Julius” said the boy a little embarrassed 

“I know, I was there 3 days ago when you caused that commotion at the Sanctum”

“Did I really sleep for 3 straight days? Damn, I didn't realize and…”

“Yeah, that's how it usually works for comatose patients”

“...” Julius was baffled by the sarcastic response 

“Actually, that's not always the case, sometimes comatose patients retain their consciousness and their inner time clock”

“Oh, it seems we have a little doctor here ahahahah” laughed Kalon

“Actually, I'm just a student… I am doing my best to become one… Or, at least, I was” a depressed expression surfaced on Julius face 

“Sorry to hear that… Maybe in the future there will be another occasion”

“I hope so… However, sorry for the commotion, that was not planned… It’s all that Divine Being that sent me here without a proper explanation”

“Boy, I appreciate that, but it's not me that you must convince… You caused quite an uproar because nobody really knows nothing about you… You have to thank the Supreme Priest for not being in prison”

“I will keep that in mind… Just out of curiosity, what was your stance on that matter?”

“Boy, I don't mingle in politics. I saw a young man who needed assistance and I provided it, that's it”

Julius’ impression of the man improved significantly hearing that sentence

“Well… Now what will happen?”

“Once I say you are in top condition, the Supreme Priest and the Supreme Commander will come and bring you to his Majesty the king and there will await you a trial”

“Trial? But I just arrived”

“That's right, but technically you got into the Sanctum without an invitation and therefore you broke one of the most sacred laws of the kingdom?”

“Are you kidding me? If I remember correctly the Sanctum was a little crowded when I arrived”

“That's right, but they were priests and guards called by the Supreme Priest… The only other person that can come and go as he please is the King”

“May I advocate that that Divine Being sent me here?”

“That's one of the points, what Divine Being was?”

“I honestly have no idea, I was already shocked enough to talk to a Divine Being… I didn't ask for documents, plus, he said that he was sending me to his temple… I didn't imagine that there would have been such a commotion, not that I had much time to think to begin with”

“Wait… Are you saying that Stellar sent you here?”

“Stellar?”

“The Divine Being we serve is Stellar and this is his temple… Boy, I hope you know what you are saying because if not, you will be killed before you can utter a word”

“Is this a threat?” asked Julius, tensing all his muscles

“No it isn't… At least not from me… Relax, even because there is nothing you can do with your current power”

“I don't want to sound disrespectful but…”

“Yes?”

“I got summoned in your Sanctum, isn't it logical that your Divine Being sent me here?”

“No”

“How?” asked Julius with a baffled expression 

“Sometimes some Divine Beings send their followers in other temples to create chaos and bring destruction”

“Why?”

“Well… How can I say it… Let's say that sometimes Divine Beings show a little immaturity that is not expected from millennial beings”

“So, they are just bored”

“I didn't say that”

Noting the discomfort on Kalon’s face, Julius changed topic 

“So doctor… When will I get back in top condition, ready to be executed?”

“Don't be so pessimistic, the death sentence is quite rare nowadays”

Seeing the boys face turn pale he quickly added “Just kidding, you only need to tell the truth”

“Ok…” replied Julius 

“For what concerns your condition, you should be already at your peak, considering that we used 3 mana crystals just for you… What we need now is to see if you are physically and mentally ready”

“Ah ok… Wait, what is a mana crystal?”

“... You are really ignorant, you know?”

“Hey, from where I am from, there is not such a thing… And, for your information, back at home I am known for being a human encyclopedia”
