"Even if the Paragon has not been stabilized, defeating it alone..."

As he was muttering to himself, a shadow flickered behind him, and he turned his gaze to look at Zaerina standing beside him "What happened? Did you kill him?"

Hearing this, Zaerina shook her head "No, Your Highness... but I guess I did something better."

"Hm?"

...

A violet streak of lightning exploded across the sky, hurtling toward them with terrifying speed.

Ji Shuang had barely taken a breath after smashing the Paragon, but she wasted no time. Rhudamanth was next.

Yan Zijin floating amidst the destruction, observed the situation.

At this time, Rui Lian floated toward her "Master..."

Yan Zijin gave her a nod and glanced back at the clouds to see Ji Shuang, who was moving towards Rhudamanth.

The forces below are still fighting against each other, as the vampires are slain, and the momentum of the battle is turning towards the Jade Eclipse Sect’s side.

Up in the sky, Rhudamanth’s gaze narrowed, feeling his instincts screaming in danger of death.

*SWOOSH* And in the next instant, Ji Shuang is in front of him.

Her fist is already coated in destructive energy, aiming straight for his chest.

The air collapsed inward from the sheer force of her punch as the battlefield below rippled from the impending shockwave.

Rhudamanth’s pupils dilated in shock.

But—CLANG!

Zaerina intercepted as her twin sai locked against Ji Shuang’s incoming strike.

The impact detonated the air between them, sending violent ripples of force outward.

The very clouds above split apart, revealing the blood-red sky as arcs of lightning and black mist clashed.

Ji Shuang’s foot twisted mid-air, and she pivoted instantly, delivering a devastating knee strike toward Zaerina’s ribs.

"URRGHHH!" Zaerina barely managed to block with her forearm, but the impact sent her rocketing backward, crashing through the air like a meteor.Rhudamanth remained still, watching.

Zaerina was still recovering from the impact of Ji Shuang’s knee strike as she clutching her ribs and stabilized her breath, her crimson eyes burning with fury.

Yet, she made no move to re-engage. It was clear now... this fight wasn’t hers to lead.

Ji Shuang’s gaze flickered to Rhudamanth, who was standing there,, and she could see that he was slightly tense.

She tilted her head slightly, "What happened, Rhudamanth? Did you send your secret forces into the Sect while we were all distracted? Hoping they’d find what you’re looking for?"

Rhudamanth’s crimson eyes flickered, and he let out a sigh, as if he were mildly disappointed but not surprised.

"Ji Shuang, Sect Master of the Jade Eclipse Sect..."

"I acknowledge your strength. Reaching the pinnacle of cultivation is not an easy feat, and I do not underestimate you."

"I know that I cannot defeat you..."

There was no shame in his voice, no hesitation, just the simple acknowledgment of reality. "Even with my Elders, even with Zaerina, or any of my forces, I knew from the beginning that overpowering you was not an option."

"And yet, you came anyway," she said, her voice calm but laced with curiosity.

Rhudamanth smiled faintly, "Indeed. Because my victory does not lie in brute force, it lies in foresight."

Ji Shuang’s expression did not change, but her fingers subtly curled, sensing the shift in his tone. @@novelbin@@

"I also know..."

Rhudamanth continued, "...that the Brynnhilder is not hidden in the inner vaults of the Jade Eclipse Sect."

Ji Shuang’s gaze sharpened, but she did not interrupt.

"The safest place in the entire Sect," he said slowly, emphasizing each word, "...is you."

A faint ripple of silence passed between them.

Zaerina’s lips curled into a smirk, watching Ji Shuang closely as she waited for her reaction.

But Ji Shuang merely let out a low chuckle "So, you think I have it?"

Rhudamanth nodded, "Not just think. I know you do."

Ji Shuang let out a soft sigh "And if I do?"

With a shake of his head, Rhudamanth spoke "I want you to give it to me."

Hm? Hearing this, Ji Shuang raised an eyebrow "You really think.. I would give it to you easily like that?"

Nodding his head, Rhudamanth retrieved a beacon from his storage ring "I am sure you will do."

As he clicked the beacon, it flickered faintly, and a holographic screen appeared there.

HUH?

Ji Shuang’s eyes quivered in shock looking at the video being shown on the holographic screen ’How.. did he...’

In the holographic screen, she saw the video of an old man lying weakly on a wooden bed, and his face is pale and sickly.

The dim lighting of the room barely illuminated the wrinkles carved into his aged face, and the faint rise and fall of his chest showed that he was still alive.

’Father...’

Her father, the previous Sect Master was affected by a disease that later broke his cultivation and made him bedridden because of aging.

He had chosen to step away from the Jade Eclipse Sect years ago, retreating to an isolated middle star, where he could live out his remaining years in peace, away from the political struggles of the cultivation world.

Taking medicines and potions to keep him alive.

She had personally ensured that he was safe.

She had handpicked the guards, erased all traces of his whereabouts, and even ensured that not even the highest-ranking members of the Sect knew his precise location.

’How did he?’

But it wasn’t just the sight of her father that made Ji Shuang’s heart pound.

It was the two vampires standing over him.

Their blood-red eyes gleamed with cruel amusement as long, curved blades rested casually in their hands... blades that could end his life in a single instant.

"I assume you recognize him," Rhudamanth muttered with a smile, showing the holographic screen to him.

Ji Shuang’s breath was slow... but the sheer pressure radiating from her body made the air crackle.

Lightning flickered around her fingertips, and the surrounding space warped subtly, betraying the depth of her fury.

"How... did you find him?"

Rhudamanth let out a slow, knowing chuckle."You should know better than anyone, Sect Master Ji. That there is no such thing as a perfect secret. No matter how well-hidden, no matter how careful you are… someone, somewhere, will always be watching."

Ji Shuang’s eyes narrowed sharply "You’re bluffing..."

Rhudamanth’s lips curved into a small, amused smile, and without breaking eye contact, he snapped his fingers.

In the holographic screen, one of the vampires suddenly moved.

He lifted his boot and slammed it into Ji Haoran’s chest.

"URGH!" The old man let out a ragged gasp, his frail body jerking violently as his hands weakly clutched at his chest.

Ji Shuang’s pupils shrank instantly.
