I alone am the Honoured One!

Chapter 724: Return to Home!

724  Return to Home!

Zhao Tian's gaze lingered on Ji Shuang and his mind is still sluggish from the toll his body had endured.

He saw the weariness on her face and the slight redness in her eyes.

His fingers twitched slightly, and with effort, he tried to move.

The pain that flared through his body is dull.. but it is still there.

He could feel the deep scars that ran across his chest, the remnants of his body being pushed far beyond its limits.

Slowly, he adjusted himself, shifting his weight against the pillows.

Ji Shuang immediately noticed and her hand tightened slightly around his hand in concern.

"Tian, don't push yourself..."

Still, he forced himself upright and groaned softly as he pressed his palms against the bed.

Ji Shuang moved closer, carefully supporting him as he sat up fully.

His breathing was uneven, and for a moment, the world spun around him, forcing him to close his eyes and steady himself.

When he finally opened them again, his gaze fell onto his own hands.

They were shaking.

Looking at him, Ji Shuang spoke "You burned yourself out," reaching for his arm. "Your life force… you used too much."

Zhao Tian exhaled and leaned back against the pillows as his eyes darkened.

He remembers it all... the torment he endured in the citadel, the death of Yao Jing and him destroying the entire Vampiric Star.

His last memory was the space itself collapsing around him before everything had gone dark.

His fingers twitched again, and his gaze lowered as he spoke in a rough voice "How long?"

"Four days since you were kidnapped to the Vampiric Star... and a day since the star was destroyed." Ji Shuang answered.

She hesitated for a moment before adding, "I thought you wouldn't wake up."

He closed his eyes for a brief second, letting that sink in.

Its been four days?

His gaze trembled for a second as he closed his eyes "Jing'er... I couldn't save her."

Hearing this, Ji Shuang's gaze lowered and she held his hand, giving him support "Don't blame yourself for it..."

Zhao Tian shook his head "No, it was because of me... my physique. They kidnapped us for my physique and blood."

Ji Shuang stayed silent, as she didn't know how to give him comforting words.

Looking at her, Zhao Tian spoke "Thank you for saving me, Sect Master."

Ji Shuang shook her head and he gently gripped her hand "Forgive me, Sect Master..."

Hearing his words, Ji Shuang forced a small smile and spoke "I-I already told you, Tian, don't blame yourself for it... just take a little rest. Your body still needs rest."

Feeling a slight pain on his chest, he looked down and saw the deep red scars on his chest running to his shoulders.

As he opened his mouth to speak again "I- *cough* *cough*"

A sharp pain ripped through his lungs as a thick, metallic taste filled his mouth.

Before he could stop himself, blood splattered onto the bedsheets

"Urghh..." His entire body convulsed as another wave of pain surged through him.

Ji Shuang's eyes shrieked in terror, and she instinctively grabbed his shoulders, steadying his trembling body "Tian—!"

Zhao Tian gestured with his hand "Water..."

Ji Shuang quickly nodded and took the water bottle beside her.

She uncapped it with shaking hands and tilted it toward his lips, but before she could pour it, his body convulsed again, and his throat seized, making it impossible for him to swallow.

Ji Shuang's eyes trembled seeing this and she hurriedly poured the water into her mouth.

She reached out and held his face in between her palms and kissed him as she poured the water into his parted lips.

Feeling the cool water going down his throat, Zhao Tian sighed.

Ji Shuang pulled back only slightly, but seeing his throat still contracting in pain, she quickly took another gulp of water.

Without waiting, she leaned in once more and sealed their lips together as she gently poured the water into him

Zhao Tian involuntarily opened his lips and she kissed him, pouring the water into him.

As she pulled away for the final time, she watched as his uneven breathing began to steady and the tension in his muscles slowly eased.

Her hands remained on his face as her thumbs gently brushed away the cold sweat that clung to his skin.

Zhao Tian's pale lips were slightly parted and his silver-white hair was damp from exertion.

Ji Shuang's eyes crescented in worry looking at his exhausted face "Seems like you have overexerted yourself and you are still facing the backlash."

Hearing this, Zhao Tian closed his eyes and mumbled "Thank you, Sect Master..."

Forcing his body to move, Zhao Tian slowly turned his legs to sit properly on the edge of the bed.

Ji Shuang helped him to stay steady as she supported his shoulders "Tian.. don't move around much... Listen to me. Stay in bed till you recover."

With a shake of his head, Zhao Tian replied "Sect master... I am really grateful for saving me. But now I have to go..."

"My wives must be worried about me."

As he spoke, he gently took her hands from his shoulders and disappeared from there.

H-Huh? Ji Shuang was taken aback to see this "His... teleportation? Huh? What just happened?"

...

*flick* Wearing only pants, Zhao Tian appeared back in the grassland on his artifact and nearly stumbled on the ground.

But still he persisted in the pain on his body and stood with trembling legs.

"TIAN!"

Hearing a scream, he raised his gaze and looked at the women rushing toward him from the mansion.

*flick* Sensing his presence, Xia Shenyi instantly dashed toward him.

She hugged him tightly and feeling the familiar warmth of his wife, Zhao Tian closed his eyes for a second before hugging her back.

He could feel her trembling against him, her fingers clenching his skin as though afraid he would disappear again.

"Tian..."

Hearing her sobs, Zhao Tian gently patted her head "I am alright."

As he raised his gaze, he looked at Shi Yixian, Fei Lingxi, Fei Ziyu and Yao Lian rushing to him.

"My Liege..."

Shi Yixian jumped into his arms and hugged him together with Xia Shenyi.

The others also surrounded him and hugged him, as they were very worried about him.

The only thing that was giving them hope was the Lacrimose Pact he had with Velnorah, which showed that he is still alive.

Only the sound of their breathing, the quiet rustle of the wind through the grass, and the rapid heartbeats that echoed between them.

Each of these women had suffered in his absence. They endured the pain of not knowing whether he would return.

And now he is here.

Though battered and scarred, he had returned to them.

To his wives...

...

Meanwhile, a tear slipped past Zhou Hanyue's cheek as she sat in front of the mirror in her room with a pale blue luxurious wedding dress.

Two maids were walking around the room, fixing her accessories and her hair, trying to make her look even more beautiful.

Lan Shuqin stood there helplessly as she gritted her teeth 'Lady Hanyue...'
