I Am the Only Fertile Woman in the Game

Chapter 37 37 Living Together with You

Qiao Suisui did not avoid the question, knowing that Zong Fang's personality was extremely self-centered. Unless he was willing to actively accept cognition outside his own logic, no one else could change his mind. Hence, Qiao Suisui knew that no matter how she explained herself, it would be useless.

She deliberated her words, pondering over what to say that could change the current situation. Little did she know that her appearance, in Zong Fang's eyes, was a tacit acknowledgment. He observed her long, curled eyelashes drooping, wet and still bearing tears, her little face as big as a palm pale, with only her lips red and luscious, clearly having been wronged. One glance at her and he felt a burning heat in his lower abdomen, a painful constriction below.

"I did deceive you," she lifted her eyes, gazing directly at the person before her, "Have you ever thought about why I did this?"

Zong Fang frowned, staring at her and asked, "What are you trying to say?"

"I was forcibly taken by you to a completely unfamiliar environment. Moreover, you and your assistants research on me all day. Have you ever considered my feelings?"

Zong Fang fell silent, his face showing no change, yet internally her words stirred a slight turmoil within him.

He recalled the time when he had just confined her, and indeed there had been some friction between them. But hadn't he compromised step by step? Everything she disliked he altered according to her wishes, except for granting her freedom.

However, Zong Fang failed to understand that what Qiao Suisui desired most was precisely freedom.

"My world is confined to just that floor you've built for me. Aside from you and your assistants, I can't meet other people, can't make friends, not to mention have a normal life."

Upon hearing this, Zong Fang's eyes suddenly grew cold.

"Who do you want to meet?"

"It's not about meeting someone specific. I want to establish my social relationships. I no longer have family. I need mentors, friends...just like the relationship you have with your assistants, not too close nor too distant, is also nice. I am a person, I need normal interactions; you only know how to keep me confined, and I really can't stand living like this."

She said all this in one breath, getting more and more agitated, slightly out of breath. Zong Fang found her serious demeanor more and more endearing the more he watched. Her reminder made him realize that Qiao Suisui was a human and not like the Artificial Females in the Interstellar.

The females here were used to being caged, accepting this way of 'being loved.' But Qiao Suisui was different; she saw it as deprivation.

At this point, Zong Fang finally understood what exactly was the barrier between them.

"Do you like it here?"

"What?" Her bafflement grew at his unexpected question. But then she heard the man ask again, "Do you like Auslan? Do you like this building?"

"Yes. There are people I know here, and I can arrange the building according to my liking."

Zong Fang lifted her onto his lap, smoothed her messy hair for her, and tenderly wiped the tear streaks from her cheeks with his fingers.

"Then stay here."

Qiao Suisui's eyes widened, somewhat disbelieving.

That was it? Just like that?

"The condition is, I become your First Spouse."

?

The man decided unilaterally, "I'll move in and live with you."

??

Who agreed to that? This is her house!

Qiao Suisui grew anxious, but knew she should not voice her inner thoughts, hence she diplomatically said, "But you still have many important studies in Soter, the work is a priority, isn't it?"

"Running between two places isn't a problem."

"..."

Zong Fang saw her face looked displeased and flicked her forehead with his hand.

"I won't stay for free."

After speaking, he opened his palm, and Qiao Suisui saw a mini cube materializing out of thin air on his previously empty hand, emitting a faint silvery light around it.

"What is this?"

Zong Fang took her hand to his lips, and bit her index finger with his venom-less teeth, causing Qiao Suisui to flinch in surprise at his sudden action. His tongue then coiled around her delicate fingertip, his silver eyes darkening and holding her gaze, the teasing in his eyes clear, even as he continued to lick her finger.

Seeing Qiao Suisui withdraw her hand, he didn't get angry. Instead, he squeezed a drop of blood onto the cube from her fingertip.

In an instant, a blinding white light made Qiao Suisui lose all vision.

The next second, she found herself in a vast space.

"Is this... a moving space?"

Zong Fang lazily uttered a sound of affirmation and took her hand, leading her to a collection of containers.

"Take a look and see what you like. You can just take it."

Qiao Suisui's eyes widened with curiosity, too surprised to speak. Then she remembered, on the day at the Imperial Court, Zong Fang had suddenly disappeared with the cub -- could it be that they had hidden in this space and then returned to the real world when no one was around? This would explain why Ruka, with all his power, couldn't find them no matter how long he searched.

Could it mean that her cub was here, too?

Thinking this, she turned to look at him, on the verge of speaking but hesitating. Zong Fang knew what she wanted to ask and without even lifting his eyelids, he said, "The little guy isn't here. Don't waste your effort."

After seeing the disappointment in her eyes, he pursed his lips and added, "As long as you stay obediently by my side, I won't let anything happen to her."

Qiao Suisui knew that her cub was a tool for him to threaten her with -- it certainly wouldn't be easy for him to hand it over, so she forced herself not to think about it anymore.

Zong Fang took her around the place. Inside the containers, there were military supplies, life necessities, piles of Star Coins, and various kinds of scarce and expensive medicinal raw materials, which he seemingly hoarded for research.

Among a variety of things, Qiao Suisui noticed a shiny stone. She gently picked it up and weighed it in her hand, it wasn't heavy and it somewhat resembled a crystal rock, only it was clear and transparent.

"What's this for?"

Zong Fang saw what was in her hand, the darkness at the bottom of his eyes deepening as he spoke indifferently, "Spiritual Power Ore, it's not very useful."

Not useful in the eyes of someone with a 3S rank like him, but to someone like Qiao Suisui who hadn't even awakened her spiritual power, it was practically a cheat code.

Even though Zong Fang made it sound cheap, she had seen during her bored wanderings in the Star Nebula that Spiritual Power Ore was extremely rare, only emerging every few hundred Star Years, helping Beastmen to increase their Spiritual Power Levels. There was a forum post specifically about trading Spiritual Power Ore, where even a small offcut had been speculated to over a hundred million Star Coins, and many Low-level Beastmen would even search for sellers on the black market.

If... she could awaken her spiritual power using the Spiritual Power Ore, not needing particularly high levels, but at least enough to not be controlled by others at every turn, how wonderful that would be…

Zong Fang saw her excitement and his expression darkened, the words he spoke carried a not-so-warm undertone.

"If you're thinking about using it for your useless blind man, I advise you to save it. This stuff is against Federation law. If your little blind man uses it, he'll be expelled from the Federation immediately. At that point, forget about any noble member of the Royal Family; he'd be cut into pieces and his blood drunk by the Beastmen of the Wandering Alliance because a male that has fused with Spiritual Power Ore is the best nutrition, foregoing even the process of refining."
