Chapter 544: Chapter 386 [Dream Library]
Azela Floating City,
Controlling a golem, huh?
So that’s why you were trying to seize control of the Demon Statue?
The Black Cat glanced disdainfully at the excited Lis and jumped down from his shoulder, tentatively touching the azure Demon Statue that was frozen in ice.
The Water Element Demon Statue before them was made of unknown materials, exuding a state similar to flowing water, as if it were a conscious body of pure water.
Lis had a profound experience of this during his battle with the Water Element Demon Statue just moments before.
Physical attacks were nearly ineffective against the Demon Statue; its body would effortlessly split into countless parts when facing a physical onslaught, only to reaggregate into the shape of the Demon Statue afterward.
It was reminiscent of the “dicing water only increases its flow” principle, with the Demon Statue appearing to lack a core, its composition elusive.
Therefore, after Lis had quickly destroyed the Water Element Demon Statue’s external shield, he resorted to the Ice Seal Technique, which finally allowed him to gain control over it.
The Water Element Demon Statue was the easiest to control among the Four Elements Demon Statues of the Floating City, but this did not mean it was weak.
In Lis’s eyes, the Water Element Demon Statue seemed more suited for defense and support roles in combat, rather than having strong offensive capabilities on its own.
Each Elemental Magic Statue had unique features, and the designer of the Four Elementals must have considered this, making their combined force much greater than when they fought individually.
This was also the reason why Lis could only opt for a tactical retreat when facing numerous Elemental Statues.
However, these Demon Statues patrolled the Floating City alone, which presented Lis with the opportunity to defeat them one by one.
Watching the Water Element Demon Statue turned into a block of ice and the disappearing Black Cat, Lis couldn’t help but wonder if Little Mi could actually control the Demon Statue properly.
As a Magic Intelligent Life, the Black Cat, Little Mi, inherently possessed immense control over such magical constructs.
But it was unknown what the underlying logic was for the control of the Elemental Statues in this Floating City.
Crack!
After waiting a while, Lis noticed that the azure Demon Statue under his command started to struggle and wriggle, with sounds of cracking ice echoing in his ears.
Seeing no sign of the Black Cat, had she successfully taken control?
Lis thought for a moment and then relaxed his control over the Elemental Statue.
Once free from Lis’s Magical Power control, the ice encasing the Water Element Demon Statue quickly melted away, with wisps of steam drifting through the air.
After breaking free from the ice, the Water Element Demon Statue did not launch an attack on Lis as it had before, but instead transformed into a cyan humanoid form and stood in front of him.
The two-meter-tall Demon Statue looked down at Lis, and a human-like smile appeared on its face, which was originally featureless.
(* ̄︶ ̄)!
“Lis, I’m taller than you now.”
Right, it had to be that guy, the Black Cat.
A familiar voice came forth from the Demon Statue, causing Lis to look helplessly at the figure before him.
“Do you feel anything special now?”
“It’s alright, just a bit chilly.”
The Demon Statue looked down and pinched its body, then began to concentrate, shrinking and solidifying its form repeatedly, trying and failing to hold the new shape.
Eventually, the Demon Statue transformed into the likeness of a delicate and pretty young girl, faintly resembling Helen.
Yet, even if the Black Cat could manipulate the statue to take on the shape of a dress, the entire figure seemed to be made of cyan transparent crystal, and it was a bit unsettling at first glance.
Lis was not surprised, but rather watched with interest the Black Cat’s attempt.
“You’ve transformed into… Helen?”
Lis asked, looking at the cyan girl standing with hands on her hips, and couldn’t resist rubbing the head of the girl in front of him.
“Stop it!”
The girl (Black Cat) shook her head and said with a sense of wonder:
“I knew her the best, she wouldn’t mind.”
“Haha, I have a new body now!”
“You never tried this before? Didn’t Sphinx prepare a new body for you?”
Lis examined the Demon Statue up and down, his eyes full of curiosity.
So curious, I really want to cut it open and take a look!
Feeling Lis’s gaze, filled with the desire to explore, the Black Cat shivered and quickly said:
“Of course not, he was too busy… preparing for those matters, he didn’t have time for me.”
Because Joyce was near, the Black Cat spoke somewhat cautiously.
“Alright then.”
Lis, disregarding the Black Cat’s resistance, pinched the human-shaped Water Element Demon Statue up and down, finding the sensation similar to before.
“Can you control this Demon Statue in battle?”
“No problem.”
The Black Cat paused for a moment, as if sensing something.
“The Combat Techniques are written in the Magic Pattern Circuitry of the Demon Statue, it’s quite simple to control.”
Saying so, the cyan girl waved her hand and a cyan ring of water appeared in front of her, revolving around her body.
Lis immediately recognized this as the Protection Magic used by the Water Element Demon Statue, capable of withstanding a certain degree of magic damage.
If the Black Cat could do this, it seemed she had indeed completely mastered the Demon Statue.
“And can you use this to control the other Demon Statues?”
“No.”
The Black Cat immediately shook her head, saying confidently:
“I tried it just now, but like before, I can’t control the other Demon Statues through the Magic Pattern Circuitry of this one; each Demon Statue is an independent entity.”
“The Demon Statues must be resonating with the entire Floating City through their Magic Runes to receive the supply of Magic Power.”
What do you think?
