Chapter 29: The Twigs Are Full of Fruits!
“I wonder what’s different about this water.”
Lu Jin cupped a handful of the mountain spring and took a sip.
It was sweet and refreshing, and though it was just simple spring water, its taste lingered, leaving an unforgettable aftertaste.
Moreover, as soon as the water entered his stomach, he could clearly feel the exhaustion in his body gradually fading away, and even his energy was instantly replenished.
Clearly, this was the effect of the precious jade.
The spring water that flowed out contained faint traces of spiritual energy. If consumed regularly, it wouldn’t just prevent illness—it could even enhance one’s constitution.
Lu Jin rubbed his chin as a bold idea suddenly flashed through his mind.
Leaving such miraculous water unused would be a waste.
If he packaged this spring water and branded it as ‘Holy Water Blessed by the Medicine Buddha’, selling it at a high price to devout believers…
Wouldn’t I make a fortune?
Monks are supposed to be indifferent to wealth and fame, not placing too much importance on money.
But even monks need to eat.
If he didn’t make money, how could he spread the Dharma? How could he have the time to focus on his cultivation?
So, this was an act of necessity.
Even if Buddha himself knew about it, he probably wouldn’t blame him.
A smirk appeared on Lu Jin’s lips. Now that he had a goldmine, the real challenge was how to make it famous.
But that wasn’t something to worry about just yet.
True quality doesn’t fear being undiscovered. With the miraculous effects of this spring water, was he really afraid of not getting the word out?
Just like his ability to exorcise demons.
As long as he staged a public display of divine intervention, he wouldn’t even need to promote it—word would spread on its own.
Thinking about the goldmine he had in his hands, Lu Jin felt elated.
Even his steps felt lighter, as if he was walking with the wind.
Just as he returned to the temple, he happened to see a middle-aged couple walking in.
Though they were described as ‘middle-aged’, they weren’t actually that old.
The man looked to be around thirty years old, wearing simple everyday clothes. His eyes were sunken with dark circles, and his head was half-bald.
It was clear that he was a white-collar worker engaged in intense mental labor.
His features were ordinary, giving off a shy and reserved vibe.
The woman, on the other hand, looked a little younger than the man—at most around twenty-seven or twenty-eight.
She wore a black dress with a deep V-neckline cut low enough to reveal her ample cleavage.
She was about 1.6 meters tall and appeared quite slim. Her features weren’t strikingly seductive, but rather carried a natural, countryside charm.
Although petite, she had a well-proportioned figure.
A white silk belt cinched her waist, highlighting her slender curves.
Her perky, firm hips gave off an alluring presence.
Lu Jin glanced at them, and immediately, from the glow of their auras, he could read their personalities.
The man’s character was exactly as his appearance suggested—introverted yet honest, clearly a straightforward and dutiful individual.
His aura was slightly dim, likely due to frequent late nights, indicating poor health.
However, there were no serious issues—a good period of rest would be enough to recover.
As for the woman—
Lu Jin raised an eyebrow, his gaze turning a little strange.
From his perspective, her aura was like a puddle of mud, constantly spreading outward uncontrollably.
This type of woman lacked independent thought and preferred to rely on strong figures.
If it were just that, it wouldn’t be a big deal. After all, most women in Japan were like this.
Japan’s culture was steeped in extreme male dominance, unlike China.
In that society, men held absolute superiority. In public settings, women were little more than attachments to men.
It wasn’t that they had no status, but about ninety percent of women transitioned into full-time housewives after marriage.
There was no such thing as gender equality in Japan.
However, apart from her aura being primarily silver-white—indicating physical health—within it was a flickering mass of pinkish energy.
This signified that, deep down, she was someone who craved excitement and detested an ordinary life.
A latent submissive personality.
Someone who enjoyed being controlled and used freely.
Come to think of it, it had been a while since he had encountered such a high-quality believer.
Lu Jin narrowed his eyes, feeling a fire ignite within him.
That damned ‘Joyful Zen’.
It always triggered his desires at the slightest provocation, treating him like an overactive dog in heat.
He had always been fond of women, but not to the extent that he couldn’t take his eyes off a beautiful one.
Lu Jin forcefully suppressed the fire within and silently chanted a Buddhist prayer.
As if sensing his burning gaze, the kneeling woman turned her head slightly, her eyes meeting Lu Jin’s handsome face.
She hesitated for a moment, then smiled and nodded, her gaze as pure as a clear spring.
Yet, Lu Jin could see that flickering pink aura growing even stronger.
A skilled hunter always appears as the prey.
The phrase flashed through Lu Jin’s mind.
She acted as if she hadn’t noticed him at all, turning her face away to continue her prayers—yet, ever so slightly, she adjusted her position, making sure her back was directly facing him, showcasing the perfect curves of her waist and hips.
As she bent forward, the fabric of her dress was pulled taut, clinging to her body.
The round, perky shape beneath her waist was outlined clearly.
What do you think?
