I Became the Maid of the Lout Prince

Chapter 636

Three months had passed since Cerista’s wedding in the Holy Land of Mireya.

Under the leadership of the new butler, Reynard, the Blackwood estate was running surprisingly well. Not as perfectly as it had under Dietmeier, of course—but that was only because Dietmeier had been an absolute cheat-level character to begin with.

I couldn’t trust Reynard enough to leave administrative work entirely in his hands just yet, which meant more work for both Ethan and me. Still, he was a solid choice when it came to managing the household staff. That was only natural, considering both Harold and Dietmeier had recommended him.

‘Well, at least they made sure to put a competent person in charge before leaving.’

For a brief moment, I reflected on how I’d once treated Dietmeier like some kind of deserter fleeing from the Blackwood estate. I should probably repent for that. Though, to be honest, I was still a little bitter that he had taken Katarina with him.

Katarina had practically been a nanny to Eris and Kenneth, so her departure had been rough at first. We had to spend a fair amount of time calming the kids down. Fortunately, Isabel had been making up for it by devoting more time to them.

And since Isabel had been caring for Eris since she was born, she was practically an expert at this by now. Eris was also nearing four years old, which meant she was a little more independent than before.

As for Marceline… I had simply left her in place as the head maid, without bothering to assign a replacement. There was no reason to replace her as long as she wasn’t causing problems.

Considering she had never gotten on my bad side back when I was the head maid myself, I figured she wasn’t the type to abuse her position. Honestly, that alone was enough qualification for a head maid.

Just as I was beginning to feel relieved that we had managed to deal with the butler and head maid situation, something else came up.

A month after returning home, I started noticing strange symptoms in my body.

And by the time three months had passed, I was staring down at my unmistakably swollen belly, feeling nothing short of dumbfounded.

‘Sure, it was a risky day, but still… this is ridiculous.’

It wasn’t like I hadn’t used contraception. I had—it was just that Ethan had all but forced himself on me, leaving me unconscious, so I had applied the spell later than usual.

And it wasn’t even that late—just ten hours.

For me to have conceived in that short window… just how absurdly hyperactive was Ethan’s sperm?

Because of this unexpected third pregnancy, I hadn’t been able to sleep with Ethan properly in a while. There were rumors that having sex while pregnant could be risky, after all.
