Inside the Demon God Temple in the eastern depths of the demon realm, a fierce battle raged between imperial strike teams trying to break through to the central temple and High Priests desperately trying to stop them - though "fierce" might have been an understatement, as the tide had already turned decisively in one direction.

"Stand back."

Tirian, who had nearly reached the realm of his previous life, stretched his hand forward. Instantly, gravity within a certain area began shifting chaotically, causing everything within to explode without leaving a trace.

The hero's party leaped without hesitation into the spatial void that formed. Behind them, dozens of the Beast Sea's most elite warriors selected specifically for this mission followed closely.

'At this rate, we can advance straight to the central temple,' Claire thought as she cut down the High Priests blocking her path at the front of the strike team.

Her holy sword moved much slower than before, yet the demons facing it were all cleaved apart in a single strike before they could properly react - as if they couldn't even see her attacks coming.

In fact, they truly couldn't properly perceive the hero's blade.

Space-Time Sword.

This was the ultimate sword technique Claire had realized while destroying the former Great Demon Orogirichi during the recent palace attack. It was rapidly approaching perfection in her hands.

Additionally, Rain and the other party members had broken through their limits into new realms after their battle with Zion. High Priests alone, who weren't even Great Priests, stood no chance of stopping them.

"These humans are too stro- ARGH!"

The strike team shot forward like cars racing down an empty highway, not even slowing as they approached the central temple.

"We're going straight inside," Claire commanded.

At that moment, a brilliant blue light bright enough to blind enveloped the entire temple grounds.

The strike team halted as their vision was cut off. Behind them, shocked and fearful voices rose from the Beast Sea warriors.

"This is...!"

They had experienced this phenomenon before.

When the blue light covering the temple finally faded, everyone could see him.

At the center of the light before the central temple, a man with blue hair slowly rose to his feet.

"None shall pass beyond this point," the Proxy spoke quietly as he turned to face the strike team.

His words carried the weight of the world's laws themselves.

"Everyone prepare for battle," the hero spoke in a cold voice as she stared at Ahmad. "We're going all out from the start."

Meanwhile inside another temple, one of the High Priests spoke while looking at the dimmed interior:

"Whatever you did won't change your death."

Overwhelming pressure burst from the High Priests as their ritual with the Core completed. The resonance between them and the Core peaked, granting them new powers and authorities. ᚱ𝙖ΝǒBΕŜ

These weren't ordinary powers - they were the authorities of great rulers who had invaded other worlds: the Abyss Dragon Ereshkigal and Dark Giant King Kun.

Through the Core's "Time Borrowing" ability, these authorities were being recreated in the High Priests' bodies.

'Though we can only temporarily recreate 70% of their abilities within the temple, this should be enough,' thought Demon, one of the High Priests, as he watched the motionless man before him.

Having spent hundreds of years within the temple, he didn't recognize who this man was. But he didn't think it mattered.

'Even Magnus Flare, called humanity's strongest, fell against just two of the previous Four Great Demons.'

The Abyss Dragon's power Demon had recreated was already beyond the previous Great Demons at just 70%. With another High Priest wielding equal power, victory seemed assured regardless of this man's identity.

'We just need to finish this quickly before the time limit on these authorities expires.'

As if hearing these thoughts-

"I'll crush you before you can even react!" Paymon, the other High Priest who had recreated the Giant King's authority, shot toward Zion.

Though using pure physical force, space itself distorted and shattered in his wake. He swung his fist at Zion's head with all his borrowed might.@@novelbin@@

As Zion tilted his body to dodge-

"Die splitting apart."

With Demon's words, thousands of blades made of abyssal energy rained down toward Zion.

Zion summoned Eclaxia and deflected the barrage of blades, but they weren't finished.

"Die exploding."

Another formless command focused on Zion's head - a supreme-grade divine word that twisted the world's laws to reduce everything in range to nothing.

Feeling the command closing in, Zion stepped back while lightly clenching his empty fist.

The abyssal command dissipated, but this had merely been bait.

"Hahaha!"

Paymon's laughter boomed as he launched a devastating strike from the side.

Zion retreated again to dodge, and the two High Priests began relentlessly pressing their attack, driving him back.

Yet as the seemingly one-sided exchange continued-

'Why...'

Questions rather than joy filled the High Priests' eyes.

'Why can't we hit him?'

It was just an inch - every single one of their thousands of attacks missed by precisely one inch, as if an infinite distance existed in that tiny space.

An incomprehensible sight even as they watched it unfold. Were they fighting an illusion?

'Unless...'

As this possibility began forming in Demon's mind-

Step.

For the first time, Zion took a step forward, his focus not on the attacking High Priests but elsewhere.

"Analysis complete."

In that instant, Paymon's right arm silently vanished from existence.

"Huh?"

As the High Priest's dumbfounded voice emerged, Zion took another step forward and both High Priests were sent flying backward at imperceptible speed.

'Counter-!'

Though Demon quickly tried to speak another command-

His form was endlessly driven into the ground below as Zion appeared at incomprehensible speed and stomped down on his head.

"You bastard!"

Paymon recovered and charged at insane speed, swinging his remaining fist at Zion.

But-

A single black line was drawn in his approach path.

His other arm was cleanly severed where it met the line. Before it could hit the ground-

Whoosh!

Zion appeared before the High Priest with a grin and swung Eclaxia, now having absorbed all surrounding light.

Unable to properly react, Paymon took the strike directly.

Meanwhile-

"I'll tear you to shreds you human piece of-!"

Demon pulled his head from the ground and tried to unleash a supreme-grade command with his remaining abyssal energy, but-

Whoosh!

The space around him was pulled toward Zion faster, and Zion's fist found his stomach.

A moment of silence.

Then-

BOOM!

With a terrifying shockwave that tore through all space, the High Priest's upper body vanished.

Though he barely managed to regenerate using the Core's borrowed authority-

SLASH!

Zion destroyed his upper body again before he could counterattack.

The subsequent exchange went in a completely different direction than before, as if Zion's earlier struggles had been an illusion. He thoroughly dominated both High Priests.

"How is this... what is this?!"

Bewildered and pained cries burst from the High Priests as they were overwhelmed.

The gray-haired man's attacks weren't random - each and every strike perfectly disrupted their flow and shattered their core abilities.

Though the scene looked similar to before, the reality was entirely different.

'How... how can such a human exist?'

And against High Priests in their own temple no less?

"Impossible! This is impossible!"

Though they shouted these words, they were realizing they had never been a match for this man from the start.

But by the time they realized this, it was already too late.

Partial Eclipse Five-Fold Overlap.

Sun Severance.

As Zion cut down a tiny sun manifesting before him with Eclaxia-

A single line was drawn across the world.

Air, space, time - everything the line touched split apart and began vanishing.

This included-

"Ah, just what are you..."

The two High Priests.

"Oh Demon God..."

Unable to use even their regeneration abilities due to the authority of denial contained in the line, the demons vanished completely.

Only a handful of ashes remained where they had been.

Zion's eyes remained as indifferent as ever as he looked at where the High Priests had vanished, as if this outcome was only natural.

In truth, it was natural. No matter how strong their borrowed authorities were or how high their status, they were merely using borrowed power that wasn't truly their own. They couldn't properly control it, and Zion wasn't one to fall to such beings.

"Now how to deal with that..."

He turned his gaze to the Core still pulsing and spreading demonic energy.

'Seems it makes time flow dozens of times faster inside than outside to infinitely multiply demonic energy.'

After studying it briefly, Zion decided not to destroy it yet. Though destroying it would accomplish his goal, it seemed wasteful to do so immediately. If used properly, it might help him reach 8 stars of Black Star Force much faster.

'But there's no need to leave anything else.'

BOOM!

With that thought, he began walking out while destroying everything else in the temple.

After walking for some time-

'This is...'

Zion's eyes took on a strange light as he finally emerged from the central temple.

The scene outside differed somewhat from what he had expected.

Drip, drip.

Fresh blood fell to the ground.

Evelyn and the Agnes Knights lay scattered about like corpses.

In the center of the blood-soaked earth stood a single girl who slowly turned to face him.

"Hello?"

A girl with snow-white skin wearing a dress artfully mixing black and red.

"It's been a while."

A smile filled with madness befitting her title curved the lips of the girl - no, of Acrimosia the Archdemon of Madness.
