"Gah, gahhh!"
The monster twisted its face and thrashed about as the grip on its throat tightened. Though no power or authority flowed through the pure white hand holding its neck, the monster remained trapped, unable to break free despite its desperate struggles.
Just as the monster's thrashing reached its peak-
The creature's body swelled and exploded.
Blood sprayed in all directions, staining the earth a dark red.
Onto this blood-soaked ground stepped a foot emerging from the passage. Its owner gradually revealed himself - a man in a black uniform with languid eyes that seemed like they wouldn't change even if the world ended before him.
It was Zion.
"Your Majesty!"
Just as relief filled the eyes of the watching military leaders-
The sky above the passage split wide open as hundreds of monsters poured down directly toward Zion.
With shrieks, the falling monsters completely obscured Zion from view before anyone could properly react.
A moment of silence followed.
Then-
"Zi-!"
Just as Evelyn's urgent cry began to emerge-
An earsplitting boom rang out as every monster surrounding Zion was torn apart without leaving a trace.
Zion emerged without a scratch.
"Are you alright, Your Majesty!" Mileion, commander of the Agnes Knights, rushed to Zion's side to check him for injuries.
"Master, did you accomplish what you set out to do?" Liushina asked as she approached shortly after.
"Nearly."
Zion answered while watching the passage disappear behind him.
Though he needed to stay inside a bit longer to fully reach 8 stars, he had to exit once the Demon Core's time authority was completely depleted.
'Still, the outcome seems adequate.'
Zion's eyes swept across the imperial army's temporary base that had become a battlefield.
The situation was clear enough without needing a report.
'They seem to enjoy watching.'
With that thought, Zion raised his head to look at the sky.
He knew.
Though invisible, the Demon King was currently watching this place.
He also understood.
This attack wasn't truly aimed at him.
It was merely a greeting.
Just like the palace attack before.
'If they really wanted to target me, they would have sent much stronger creatures.'
They could have prevented him from exiting the passage much more easily then.
But Zion knew the Demon King wouldn't do that.
The Demon King was waiting for their final clash in the last battle just as much as Zion himself was.
'Since they greeted me first, it would be polite to respond.'
A smile curved Zion's lips as he raised one arm toward the sky.
His hand lifted slowly, as if swimming through water.
The flow of time in the temporary base gradually slowed.
All eyes naturally turned to Zion at this strange phenomenon.
The monsters throughout the base let out desperate roars and charged toward him frantically.
Ominous.
Overwhelmingly ominous.
Though they couldn't understand what Zion's actions meant, the monsters instinctively knew that when his raised hand fully closed, something far beyond their imagination would occur. ɽαℕô𝖇ĘṦ
But their speed had become turtle-like under the effects of the slowed time.
Meanwhile, Zion's hand continued reaching skyward.
The world began screaming in response.
Demonic energy.
All beings related to demons and magic possessed demonic energy.
It was the fundamental source comprising monsters and an essential component forming the demon realm.
What would happen if that demonic energy was erased?
A black dot appeared on each monster's body, like a marksman targeting his prey.
Demonic Energy Denial.
As Zion's fully extended hand finally clenched tight-
With a sound like something breaking-
---!
The demonic energy vanished from every monster in the base.
There weren't even death screams.
No struggling.
As if they had never existed.
The monsters disappeared without lasting even a moment.
The battlefield, which had been filled with tremendous noise, instantly fell silent.
Everyone stared at Zion with shock at what had just occurred.
'Is this even possible for a human?'
Of course, they knew how powerful their emperor was.
But this went beyond mere strength.
Something far more distant and lofty.
Yes, divine.
This truly belonged in the realm of mythological gods.
'Now I can finally believe it completely. That he really is the Eternal Emperor.'
Whether aware of their thoughts or not, Zion turned toward the military leadership with his usual indifferent eyes.
"After preparations are complete," he said in a low but shocking voice, "we attack the last Demon God Temple."
---
In the final Demon God Temple at the center of the Abyss.
"You continue to meet my expectations," the being called the Demon King spoke with slight excitement.
Despite seeing his monsters vanish without leaving corpses, the delight in his eyes only grew.
"Yes, this is fitting for the opponent I've waited centuries for."
How long had he waited and prepared?
The moment to avenge his humiliating defeat from hundreds of years ago and return the world's fate to its original course was finally at hand.
"Prepare," the king commanded the demon armies kneeling before him as he slowly rose.
"Set the stage to celebrate my reunion with the Emperor."
"We obey, our King."
---
The entire army began to stir.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
Was it the sound of footsteps?
Or heartbeats?
Claire Flosimar, the hero chosen by the world, gazed at the armies filling the endless plains before the Abyss.
The Fairy Forest and Giant Colony on the left wing.
The Beast Sea and floating city Adegrifa on the right wing.
And the Agnes Empire in the center.
This couldn't simply be called the empire's army.
Before her stood the combined might of humanity - no, of all beings in this world - gathered to prevent destruction.
'Today the world's fate will be decided.'
Victory in this battle meant the world's survival; defeat meant its destruction.
Thump! Thump! Thump!
That's why her heart wouldn't stop pounding.
Even though she had faced this situation before her regression and even experienced the world's destruction, her heart refused to calm.
'No, perhaps it won't calm because of that.'
Claire's eyes turned to the demon armies facing the empire.
Unimaginable demonic energy darkened the already black sky and earth further.
The number of monsters emitting that energy stretched beyond the horizon, too many to fit in her field of vision.
The demon realm.
This was truly the demon realm itself that Claire had been fighting all along.
Humanity's strongest and worst enemy since before her regression.
That enemy had gathered all its forces for this final battle.
'Without Emperor Zion, reaching this point would have been impossible.'
Claire swallowed hard as she looked at Wrath and the Proxy Ahmad among them.
Though they appeared as mere dots from this distance, their power was enough to put her on edge.
She wondered how her past self had even thought of facing such beings.
'But what's that?'
Questions filled Claire's eyes as she surveyed the enemies.
As far as she knew, those two should be the only remaining demon realm forces of Great Demon rank.
The others had already been cleanly eliminated by Emperor Zion.
But now she saw another being that seemed to possess similar power to those two.
'Where did they get such a force from?'
She had never seen this being before.
Her confusion only grew.
'Does His Majesty know about this?'
Just as Claire turned to look for Zion-
"Since its founding until now."
A quiet voice reached her ears.
Though soft, it reached the ears of everyone on the plains clearly.
"The empire has faced countless threats."
Step by step.
Zion slowly walked forward through the armies as he spoke.
All eyes turned to him as if mesmerized.
"The External Worlds of the past, monster attacks, the Seven Calamities, and even the Dragon War."
Naturally accepting their gazes, Zion continued walking as he spoke:
"The empire overcame all those threats and erased every enemy associated with them."
Thoroughly uproot any who bare their fangs and never leave future troubles - one of the empire's iron rules ruling through strength, and the Eternal Emperor Aurelion's only teaching.
"That's why I'm displeased."
Zion's gaze turned to the demon armies on the opposite side of the plains.
"That an enemy who bared their fangs at the empire still draws breath."
His eyes grew ice cold.
"I am displeased."
Something began stirring in the soldiers' hearts as they heard Zion's words.
"That the Agnes Empire ruling the world has feared a single enemy for hundreds of years."
And with that-
Boom! Boom!
One by one, soldiers began striking their spears against the ground.
"That enemy stands before our eyes now."
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
The sound grew increasingly fierce.
"Do not fear."
Even amid the thunderous beating, Zion's voice reached every ear in the army clearly.
"As long as you stand with me, the empire cannot be defeated."
Darkness deeper than night began flowing from Zion's entire body as he reached the front of the army, consuming everything around him.
The Eternal Emperor Aurelion Khan Agnes who had once devoured the world.
His undefeated figure was being recreated here once more.@@novelbin@@
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
The earth began trembling from the soldiers striking their spears.
Standing at the center of this shaking ground, Zion kept his gaze fixed on the demon armies as he reached out to grasp the air.
The Light-Extinguishing Sword Eclaxia settled into his hand as if it had been waiting.
The dark blade that released a low cry slowly pointed forward.
"Today the empire will erase all demons in the world."
Eclaxia's tip aimed past the demon armies toward their king in the depths of the Abyss.
"And end this war."
At that moment-
---!
With a tremendous roar that seemed to shake the entire world.
The final battle began.
