Chapter 307 3 Letters
[Chapter 306 Comments.]
[Keltic_Spirit: Well, that didn't go as planned. I will laugh my head off if the letter said, 'Don't interfere / tolerate whatever the students do to a reasonable degree or my actions temporarily.']
[Adam_Balch_7324: Oh should have thought past getting the information thats going to be rough]
…
"I have won, but at what cost…" Oliver let out a long sigh as he walked to the field to meet up with the rest of the team. "I'll definitely be dead in the final. Then again, I get a shot for the last trip. If I can get it, all the suffering will be worth it."
Oliver couldn't help but take a peek at the content.
Unbeknownst to him, Victoria was staring at him from her office.
She couldn't help but recall what Theo said when he came to request her help.
…
"What? You want to make a test that will involve me?"
"Yes. I believe that this is a perfect chance for you to see their overall progress. Of course, the final test will be a better time, but this is a battle between two people from the same world." Theo nodded.
"So you're going to involve me in this test?"
"Yes. I'm merely asking you to hold three letters." Theo smiled.
"Three letters? What's this test all about?"
"It's just an unknown test for the students."
"Are you saying that the information of the test is within those three letters?" Victoria furrowed her eyebrows.
Theo smiled. "Yes. The students will be coming for you to get the information."
"So you want me to protect those three letters? Aren't you underestimating me too much? Even though they have grown so much after studying under you, it doesn't change the fact that they are students. I can protect the letters easily. I'm just afraid that none of them can pass the test because of me." Victoria harrumphed.
Theo smirked. "What if I told you that you would end up getting tricked by my students?"
Victoria's expression turned grim. "Interesting. Do you think the kids who are still wet behind their ears can outsmart me?"
Theo handed over the three letters. Each of them had a number on it.
"If someone outsmarts you, I want you to give the second letter. Place the third letter in your house in case someone sneaks into your house. As for the first letter… I doubt that anyone can get it. It also contains the true information about the test."
"Hmmm?" Victoria looked confused. "The second and third letters are baits?"
"Yes." Theo nodded. "They contain proper information as well, but not about the test." Continue your journey at My Virtual Library Empire
This was Theo's way of lying. If he put information in those two letters without claiming it was the truth, it wouldn't be considered lying. The students just misunderstood that they got the correct information.
Victoria said, "I don't like the fact that I have to fool the students."
"I understand, but in the end, I'm a teacher. In the adult world, you can easily find trickery, cheating, or all kinds of bad things. As a teacher, I don't want them to resort to that, whether it's due to greed or something else."
"Well, I can understand that. I often go to an auction and win a lot of items fair and square. There are a lot of people who still dare to steal the items and end up dying in my hands. So the students that resort to stealing should be punished. We can't let them think that they can do it without repercussions." Victoria agreed.
"Yes. Meanwhile, threat is also something that shouldn't be allowed. If they're willing to negotiate fairly with you, I don't mind if you give them the first letter."
Victoria looked at Theo in confusion. "Even though you are resorting to the same thing? Doesn't that make you a hypocrite?"
"The targets are different." Theo shook his head. "If they are willing to do that to their friends or innocent people, what will happen if they receive strength with that mindset?"
"…" Victoria couldn't refute it. For the students, Victoria was Theo's ally, which they should regard highly.
If their greed ended up turning them against Victoria, it was simply not worth it.
"What if your family members support you or help you during your times in need, and when you succeed, you abandon your family? What if the only way to succeed is to kill your own family?" Victoria stared at the ceiling, muttering the questions again and again.
Theo nodded. He already had his answer.
Even Agata couldn't say that Theo was a good man. However, she could definitely declare that Theo had never harmed his people. He could turn the whole world upside down for them and chose to fail if it ended up harming his people.
This was the last lesson that Theo wished to teach the students. There was always a limit.
Victoria nodded her head. "Alright. I'll cooperate with you. I'm also curious about their development. As an educator, I also believe that we should introduce the adult way, but remind them that there's a limit to what they can do.
"If you harm the people you love just for the sake of an achievement, you will have a lifelong regret. You won't be able to turn back time to fix it. It's better to teach it to the students when they're still young."
"Thank you." Theo smiled.
…
After recalling that memory, Victoria closed her eyes while muttering, "It is as you said, Teacher Theo. To think that your students could outsmart me. Still, stealing from my house, huh? These students really need to be punished."
As Theo predicted, there were people who had the intention to break into Victoria's house.
And they were none other than Serena, Lancelot, and Jayden.
Inside her house, all the maids and butlers who had been taking care of the mansion were lying on the ground.
The trio were wearing masks as Serena hid the potion and said, "Everyone should be sleeping right now. We only have forty minutes. Let's go."
What do you think?
