Chapter 356: Next Student
[Chapter 355 Comments.]
[DarkSlayer: Anticlimactic outcome. Anyway, next match!]
[Keltic_Spirit: A simple display, anyways the fight was suppose to be quick. I just hope there are more surprises.]
…
Li Wei was standing in the arena in shock. Li Shuye wanted to comfort him, but she had to be strict so that Li Wei could continue striving forward. Besides, comforting him wasn't her job. It was his master's job.
Even Theo walked to Li Wei while asking with a calm tone. "I suppose… I don't have to tell you this, right?"
Li Wei closed his eyes while biting his lips. He could have fought better, but he realized he was lacking in experience and skill. It was clear what his next task was.
Considering Theo couldn't bring them anymore, he needed to take on a lot of missions during the second and third years to build up his experience and master his skills during a battle.
Theo smiled and declared, "Li Wei's score: 71. I believe this score is appropriate due to his lack of mastery of his ability and experience. However, if the score is too low, it will diminish the efforts he has put in so far. This score will represent his potential growth. Representatives, do you have any objection to the score?"
The representatives looked at each other. They also thought that 65 to 75 should be the range of the score.
The exact number came from Theo's judgment, so they didn't have any objections to it.
"There is no objection from the representatives. Please continue, Teacher Theo." Victoria confirmed it.
Li Wei heard everything. After calming down, Li Wei shook his head. Before leaving the arena, Li Wei clasped his hands before stopping. It felt like this wasn't enough.
Li Wei ended up falling to his knees and placing his head on the ground, startling everyone, especially his master. He shouted, "Thank you for your guidance in the past year. I will definitely improve and not disappoint you anymore, Teacher."
The sword saint, who was already standing as if wanting to reprimand him that a man shouldn't kneel so easily, immediately sat down. Theo deserved that kowtow.
Theo nodded. "You don't have to repay me because that's my job as a teacher. As long as you continue striving forward and take this experience to heart, you won't disappoint me. It's fine to fall down or rely on other people. There's no shame in asking for help or losing.
"Losing means you still have rooms to grow. The only embarrassment is for those who have stopped walking."
"Thank you for your guidance." Li Wei kowtowed once more before leaving the arena.
The sword saint had already disappeared from his seat.
He had been waiting for Li Wei in the corridor. The latter bowed his head while saying, "I'm sorry, Master…"
"No need to say sorry. That man deserves it." The sword saint shook his head. "Take his lesson to heart and continue improving. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me."
"Yes."
"Let's have a bowl of noodles after this, shall we?"
Li Wei had a small smile on his face. "Yes. But I will need to cheer for my friends first."
The sword saint smiled and patted Li Wei's head.
The guardians and the world representatives were still shocked by Li Wei's power.
"Hmmm. They are better than I originally thought. Miss Li Shuye. Don't you know you have to hold back a bit?" Rihito asked.
"No. Holding back is just disrespecting the student who has worked hard for this day. Besides, the faster the battle, the faster we can go home. There are still a lot of things to handle, you know." Li Shuye shook her head.
"Fair enough." Javier turned to Reloft. "So, are you going to bully that princess? Well, you are also a royal, so I guess there won't be any repercussions. I don't think this fight will lead to a war."
Reloft chuckled. "Of course not. I'm looking forward to her new abilities.
Once he cleaned up the arena, Theo opened his mouth. "Mr. Reloft and Student Aurora. Please come onto the stage."
Both of them leaped from their seats and landed in their respective places.
Reloft was a werewolf, so he relied on his physical abilities and claws. Meanwhile, Aurora relied on her spirit and archery.
Both of them had a different fighting style, so this was going to be quite unique.
Reloft warned Aurora, "I won't hold back."
"Yes, I'm looking forward to the battle. Thank you in advance." Aurora nodded. "I have long heard about your reputation, Sir Reloft, especially the story about you destroying a single forest with your claws alone."
Reloft didn't care about the little provocation. Instead, he continued warning her so that the battle wouldn't be as quick as the previous one. "As an archer, you shouldn't let me come close."
"Understood." Aurora turned to Theo. "Teacher Theo. I will choose a valley. I will be on top of the cliff."
Theo nodded and activated his tower. The illusion created the battlefield. It was a valley area with a cliff on the right side where Aurora was. She was standing with a bow in her hand.
Meanwhile, Reloft loosened his shirt and tie as his nails extended themselves.
Theo asked, "Are the two of you ready? Anything you'd like to say?"
"No." Both of them shook their heads.
"Alright. Let's begin!"

Reloft looked up, locking Aurora.
'This battle will be fast. As long as I manage to climb the cliff, I will be able to win. Hence, all I need to do is crush her arrow and any little tricks she has prepared for me.'
Reloft took a deep breath before dashing forward.
Aurora immediately activated her spirit.
"Let's go…" She muttered as white light extended her bow. She squinted her eyes, following Reloft's movement. After that, she fired her first arrow.
The incoming arrow was fast and carried a lot of power. The valley was mostly filled with green grass instead of trees, so it wouldn't be hard for Aurora to aim for him or Reloft to avoid the arrow.
'Well, let's aim for an absolute victory.' Reloft smirked. Instead of avoiding the arrow, he actually charged forward and waved his claws, creating several crescent-shaped claw strikes.
Both the claw and arrow clashed with each other, but the conclusion was reached almost immediately.
The claw strikes that Reloft thought would be enough to destroy the arrow suddenly shattered like glasses. Reloft's confident look was also crushed.
"What?!"
What do you think?
