Chapter 107: 103 Bronze Rings (4100) (Request for further reading) _1 Chapter 107: 103 Bronze Rings (4100) (Request for further reading) _1 “Hello.”
Casio squinted slightly.
“Hello.” Violet’s voice was very cold.
The back door of the car opened, and Casio climbed in, crossing his arms over his chest. His eyes, intentionally or not, were watching Violet in the passenger seat. Not because she had an attractive figure and excellent looks, but because he could sense the killing intention emanating from her.
This killing intention wasn’t aimed at him, but was an aura formed naturally over many years. Casio’s perception was highly sensitive, which allowed him to detect this hidden aura.
Clearly, this Violet was not Matthew’s mistress or secretary, but someone more like a bodyguard. According to Casio’s guess, this woman was possibly associated with the Black Spade…
The Sand Dust Organization had once attempted to assassinate Phil but failed due to Casio’s presence. They certainly wouldn’t give up so easily, and actions against the Kanon Corporation were most likely still underway in secret. This woman, codenamed Violet, was likely someone the Black Spade Organization had assigned to protect Matthew, the General Manager of the Kanon Corporation…
The car started and soon merged onto the spacious streets.
Their destination was the City Museum located in the Central Street District.
Without any accidents, they arrived about ten minutes later.
Casio stepped out of the car, shielding his eyes from the sunlight. It was a greyish-white rectangular plaza. Round flower beds loaded with blooming plants surrounded the perimeter, with streetlights standing beside them. The center was marked by a circular white stone fountain, its ceramic tiles shimmering white under the sunlight. On the stone platform in the middle of the fountain was a five to six meters tall statue of the first mayor of Baichuan City.
Citizens occasionally sat on the nearby black benches, soaking up the sun and chatting, or feeding breadcrumbs to pigeons.
With two thuds, the car doors closed.
Matthew and Violet also got out of the car.
One looking handsome and elegant, and the other beautiful and refined. They somewhat resembled a couple, with Casio seeming more like a bodyguard.
“Let’s go in and have a look,”
Contacted us, in the meantime, Matthew took out a black invitation card from his pocket, which had a golden edge.
Just as the three of them started to move, a security guard in a blue uniform approached them. Seeing Matthew’s invitation card, he hurriedly came over. After confirming their identities, he assured them that he would arrange for his colleagues to guard the area to prevent Matthew’s luxury car from being damaged.
Then, with a respectful look, he watched the three of them leave.
This clearly was not a mere antique exhibition, but a gathering of the upper-class society. Even the museum’s security guards were sycophantic. Their enthusiasm suggested that the White Rose Corporation must have given them plenty of incentives.
They took the white stone road and went a few rounds. Soon, a square museum appeared in front of them. It was very high and grand, with large pieces of transparent glass on the side. A blue carpet led from the entrance all the way out.
About ten to twenty security officers in blue uniforms were patrolling, some of them even carrying rubber batons.
“Matthew?”
“Avery?”
“Long time no see!”
“Yes, it’s been a long time!”
Close to the entrance, a young man also in a suit came forward to greet them. He, too, was holding a black invitation to the antique exhibition and seemed to be friends with Matthew.
“Weren’t you doing business with your father in the East Sea County? When did you return?” Matthew was also somewhat delighted.
“The rubber business there isn’t going well. My father stayed there to manage the branch, and asked me to return to North Flow Country to handle the business here. I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t had the chance to meet you for tea. Today, I managed to spare some time to attend the White Rose Antique Show and I didn’t expect to run into you,” Avery replied with a smile.
“It’s just as well. Let’s go together,” Matthew responded with a smile.
It was clear that the two shared more than a regular friendship. They were likely childhood friends.
“Who are these two?”
Avery glanced at Violet and Casio standing next to them.
“Oh, they’re friends, here to check out the antique exhibition,” Matthew introduced, “This is Violet, and this is Li Wei.”
The four of them chatted at the entrance for three to four minutes, then walked towards the entrance of the City Museum. After checking their invitation, they encountered no obstacles and entered the venue along the passage.
The interior of the museum was quite spacious. The White Rose Antiques Company had arranged things with the museum. The City Museum had temporarily lent the western exhibition hall to the White Rose Company for a themed antique exhibition, for which the White Rose Company had to pay a hefty sum.
But they had the money and wanted to show off their grandeur.
The City Museum was located in the best spot in Baichuan City. It was the largest and most well-equipped. Naturally, it was the chosen spot for the White Rose Antiques Show. If they chose a smaller venue, it would be too embarrassing.
It wouldn’t seem grand enough to attract the upper-class.
“Oh, Mr. Matthew.”
“Matthew’s here?”
Just as the four of them entered the exhibition hall, some of the people already in the hall turned to look. Kanon Corporation was a large company in Baichuan City, known for its incredibly profitable liquor business.
Consequently, Matthew was of high status.
He immediately gave off a perfect smile, walking elegantly towards them. Avery and Violet followed him.
Only the tall and sturdy Casio remained standing where he was.
Matthew had told Casio earlier that the White Rose Antiques Show was a place for him to network. Casio could look around on his own for the time being, and Matthew would ask the organizers about him when the morning exhibition came to an end.
What do you think?
