I Can See Your Combat Power

Chapter 887 - One Hundred and Eighty-One: Weight and Importance

Chapter 887: Chapter One Hundred and Eighty-One: Weight and Importance

Tang Luo, who was locked in fierce combat with Wang Han’s incarnated tempest giant, of course, didn’t know that inside the latter’s Sea of Consciousness, chaos had already erupted.

Perhaps none of the multiple personas had expected that Wang Han would fight Tang Luo to such a deadlock, much less did they expect the battle to become so tense that even Wang Chan was injured.

From the beginning, Wang Chan never took Tang Luo seriously, not just due to the sanctimonious pride of the sacred ground, but because the martial world had thrived for a millennium, and the difference in martial arts between the sacred grounds and the noble families had become as vast as a chasm. As the Saint Child of the southern Wang Clan and the inspector dispatched by the Dutian Heavenly King, who had surveyed all the prominent families in the south, he held a deep-rooted disdain for the martial path of the nobility.

His visit to Lanshan City, besides demanding an apology from Elder Xu to Buddha’s Country, was also to see what kind of person Tang Luo, who shook Bifang Mountain with his fists, really was. Although he had set a three-day appointment, he had regarded it merely as a game.

Or it could be said, he made the appointment just to teach a lesson to this ignorant youngster, to let him understand how high the sky is and how thick the earth is.

Even when he encountered several surprises in the first two days and was even forced up close by Tang Luo, he was still so composed and moved freely.

...

Because from the beginning, Wang Chan had never thought he would be injured while instructing a country bumpkin.

But now, his frivolity and arrogance had gone, replaced by solemnity and anger.

The sensitive divine souls residing in Wang Chan’s Soul Palace were even more keenly aware. In the opulent-adorned palace, the dignified soul paced back and forth anxiously. As the battle between Wang Han and Tang Luo grew increasingly tense, he finally couldn’t help speaking out, “Wang Chan, you cannot let that brute continue to fight with Tang Luo! Our body is already injured, and if it is not treated in time, it will leave a lingering malady that will affect the progress of spiritualizing the physical body. Do you want to delay reaching the level of Grandmaster by decades because of that brute’s impulsive action? The fight cannot continue!”

Wang Ying, who was feasting in a bacchanalian revel, roared upon hearing this, “Why shouldn’t we fight? Does this bastard of the Tang Clan have some ingenious way of revitalizing his energy that surpasses the Tempest Breath, and is going to drag Wang Han to death? He ruined one of our surrogate bodies and hurt me; we must kill him, extract his living soul, and refine it into a surrogate to soothe the hatred in my heart!”

“Foolish!” the dignified soul in the palace rebuked, “Don’t forget that the Tang Sen lineage is recognized by Yuanzhou’s Xu Clan as kin. Even if Wang Han eventually wins, with Elder Xu present, would he allow us to refine his cousin into a surrogate? If we can’t assimilate him, then what is the significance of victory or defeat in this battle to us?”

“I don’t care!” Wang Ying stubbornly exclaimed, “Just because he hurt me, he deserves to die. Let Wang Han continue to fight; the other will suffer injuries worse than ours, and if his path to becoming a Grandmaster is cut, let’s see what he can boast about in the future! To stand unmatched in this world, pah!”

“You brainless insect!” the divine soul in the palace shouted in anger upon hearing Wang Ying’s irrational argument, “If the fight continues, it will also delay our path to becoming a Grandmaster. Don’t forget who our real opponents are! In front, the three junior Saint Kings of Martial Saint Mountain, Xu Clan, and Buddha’s Country are progressing triumphantly; behind, Wang Tu and Wang Po are secluding themselves to train furiously in pursuit. Yet, here we are, about to suffer mutual destruction in a brawl with a noble family’s scion. Isn’t this a case of missing the forest for the trees!?”

When Wang Ying was labeled as an insect, he lost his temper on the spot, threw down his bone club, and bellowed, “You are just a coward. The slightest pain makes you chicken out. When has Wang Han or I not risked our souls in a surrogate body to fight to the death for Wang Chan? Without us, there would be no Saint Child of the Wang Clan. Wang Han is avenging me today; what’s wrong with that?”

“The mistake lies in his bloodthirstiness and ignorance of when to advance or retreat!” the divine soul in the palace said coldly, “Divine Thunder and the Underworld are such divine weapons, and since we have already seized the advantage and injured Tang Luo, we should have pulled away and retreated. But instead, he was greedy for merit and continued to fight, flipping forward to attack, leading to this turnaround. If he knew when to advance or retreat, how could he have fallen into such a harrowing battle?”

Wang Ying, unable to argue back, was about to cross the palace’s boundary to start a scuffle when he was stopped by a thunderous reprimand.

“Enough quarreling!”

Like a majestic hymn from the heavens, it permeated every corner of the Soul Palace, causing the entire palace to tremble. The splendid garments that hung high in the palace were shaken to the ground, and the mountains of meat piled up amidst the wine pools and meat forests collapsed with a thunderous crash. The two arguing personalities fell silent as if stricken by cold, and even the brutish Wang Ying lowered his head in fear.

“Wang Wei is right, to continue fighting would be futile. We must first complete the tasks assigned by the overseer. As for that boy from the Tang Family, I’ll deal with him after I return from Beimang!”

“Furthermore, even without you all, I could still become the Saint Child of the Wang Clan. Allowing you to continue residing within me is my greatest act of mercy. Do not challenge my bottom line, lest you end up like Wang Ying, understand?”

The name ‘Wang Ying’ seemed to wield a magical power, causing Wang Ying and Wang Wei, despite being two separate souls, to tremble unconsciously upon hearing it.

Outside, the assaults of Wang Han’s wind and cloud giant grew more and more ferocious. Sometimes, despite the risk of enduring the force, he would swing his blade towards the silver-gray giant, only to have it firmly blocked by a pair of iron arms.

If the battle had followed its initial rhythm, Wang Han’s wind and cloud giant would have been able to last thousands of exchanges before defeat. However, with the impetuous onslaught, a few hundred exchanges would be the most it could sustain before collapsing due to the excessive consumption of Spiritual Power.

The fight with Wang Han, though not long in this world, was free of such glaring mistakes until now, puzzling Tang Luo. He couldn’t help but keep extra vigilant.

Yet, the opponent’s attacks grew increasingly fierce. Despite being torn by heavenly dragons and Mysterious Serpent Phantoms, he pressed on in a frenetic assault, as if to burn the last glow of life.

This was not the measured approach of a master of physical arts, but rather that of a desperate gambler at the end of his rope.

While resisting, Tang Luo remained on guard, wary of any final moves Wang Han might unleash. But as the opponent’s attacks grew more costly in terms of Spiritual Power, his worries began to fade.

Finally, the Dharma Body of the giant shattered with a burst, and the absorbed force exploded towards him, embedding the silver-gray giant into the mountain. Divine Thunder and the underworld stabbed towards the giant’s heart chamber, but the heavenly dragon and Mysterious Serpent Phantom entangled it.

Though they were only able to hold off for an instant before being destroyed, they bought Tang Luo enough time to react and grab the two deadly blades in his hands.

After the Dharma Body of the giant burst, a figure like a shooting star rose into the sky, no longer bearing Wang Han’s demeanor, but Wang Chan’s.

“Even Wang Han could not take you down. That giant Dharma Body is quite interesting, yet I can’t make heads or tails of its origin; truly strange.”

Tang Luo, transformed into a giant, released his hands, allowing the two deadly blades to shrink and fly back to Wang Chan. Spitting out a robe, he shed the Undying Battle Body and rose into the air to face Wang Chan from a distance, speaking lightly, “The martial arts of the world are vast and boundless. How could Prince Wang know them all? Just like that giant Dharma Body, it feels quite familiar to me as well, yet I can’t quite put my finger on it.”
