Chapter 973 - 974: The New Dharma of the Buddhist Sect

Chapter 973: Chapter 974: The New Dharma of the Buddhist Sect

“Yes!”

Fu Tiantian’s restraints vanished, and her figure flickered as she rode a beam of escape light into Bodhi Temple.

After soaking in the wooden tub bathhouse, she had reached the Golden Core Stage in her cultivation, and although she was still insignificant, she could do much more than in the Foundation Establishment Stage.

Moments later, the once silent temple gradually became noisy.

“Immortal, spare our lives!”

“It was all the doing of the Elders of the Heavenly God Sect, it has nothing to do with us!”

The monks from Bodhi Temple came fleeing out in panic, the might of that one sword had frightened them to their cores, and they willingly brought out the children held captive in the temple, hoping to save their own lives.

With a wave of her little hand, Fu Tiantian led nearly a hundred children out from the temple. The children looked dazed, with wavering eyes and a stunned expression, seemingly under the influence of the so-called new method.

This was something similar to the Power of Faith but not quite the same, its exact nature still unknown.

“Master, I’ve brought the people, but how shall we deal with these Bald Donkeys?”

Fu Tiantian asked.

“What exactly is this ‘new method’?”

Li Xiaobai arrived in front of Bodhi Temple and asked the many monks.

“The new method is a trial from the Elders of the Heavenly God Sect, using the Power of Faith to purge the children’s minds of wicked thoughts, leaving only pure goodness and truth. Only then can they possess the heart of a child. Afterwards, they are guided to comprehend the natural world spontaneously, writing down their realizations which might reveal a different path of cultivation.”

A somewhat older monk said timidly.

“Why use children for these experiments?”

Li Xiaobai continued to ask.

“Because children have the least contact with the world and the purest minds, it’s relatively easy to remove impurity from their thoughts, hence this method was chosen.”

“All of these strategies were provided by the Elders of the Heavenly God Sect; we monks were simply following orders and are unaware of the details. Bodhi Temple was also coerced. Observations show that these children have not been harmed in the least, on the contrary, by purging their minds of scattered thoughts and impurities, possessing a child’s heart, their path of cultivation will be much smoother.”

The old Monk continued, trying to push the blame onto the Heavenly God Sect.

“They look like this and you tell me they’re okay? Master, is it you who’s blind or is it me?”

Li Xiaobai’s eyes flashed coldly as he pointed to the children behind him who were in a daze and spoke sharply.

“This is only temporary, the Heavenly God Sect baptises these children daily with a wisp of the Power of Faith. Such symptoms can be resolved in a few days, it really isn’t a problem!”

The old monk’s heart trembled, and he spoke shakily.

The Heavenly God Sect did consider the physical and mental endurance of the children. In order to maximize the awakening of their potential, they used only a thread of the Power of Faith each day to remove impurities, ensuring the experiment was within the children’s ability to endure.

This method greatly increased the success rate, and although many children died along the way, the final results were positive. The ones that remained were the best of the best, and with careful cultivation, they were bound to become pillars of the community in the future.

“Bodhi Temple, such disgrace to the Buddhist Sect. I see that you masters show not the slightest remorse. It’s best you return to the kiln in the presence of the Buddha in the Western Paradise to be remade!”

Li Xiaobai said indifferently, his longsword sweeping across, launching several sword lights that tore through the heavens, flipping up soil over a large area. The ground around Bodhi Temple, for over ten miles, instantly sunk into a chasm, a crisscrossing network of deep, bottomless rifts transforming the land into an unfathomable abyss.

The monks didn’t even have time to scream for mercy before being forever buried underground.

These Buddhist monks deserved their deaths, actually concocting a scheme to exploit the pure nature of children to search for a new cultivation system—it was utterly insane.

Children are like blank slates, uninfluenced by any cultivation system, making them better able to discover laws and paths unimaginable to ordinary people. Although most ideas are absurd and unruly, the meanings and rules they might uncover could lead to something. The Heavenly God Sect or even the entire Buddhist Sect behind it coveted this, subjecting the children to inhumane trials.

Though these hundred children were unharmed, Li Xiaobai would never believe that these experiments were non-lethal. To forge these hundred children, who knows how many others may have died in the background.

The ambition of the Buddhist Sect was growing, no longer content with merely converting people for their own use, they sought to create new laws and take a different path.

“Master, there’s a talisman over there!”

Fu Tiantian suddenly pointed at a faint light bursting out from the ruins and exclaimed.

It was a talisman emitting a weak glow, fluttering toward Buddha Country like a firefly, seemingly seeking Master Tianxuan. The destruction of Bodhi Temple was no small matter, but Li Xiaobai had no intention of stopping it.

“No matter, let it go and report. I will give you another magic treasure, from now on, these children will be under your care, do not neglect them.”

Li Xiaobai’s wrist flicked, and a super-sized heavy-duty truck landed, with enough capacity to easily accommodate these hundred children. Although Fu Tiantian was only eleven, she had a graceful figure, and operating the truck was a breeze for her.

With this mount in hand, she wouldn’t have to drag a wooden board back and forth to transport the toddlers anymore.

“This object is called Little Steel Cannon, take good care of it and cherish it!”

Li Xiaobai said indifferently.

“Thank you, Master!”

Fu Tiantian was numb with shock, and at the sight of this fierce mount emanating an Iron-blood Aura, she didn’t know how to react. Following Li Xiaobai’s instructions, she climbed aboard, inserted an Immortal Stone into the fuel gauge which immediately filled up, and with a rumbling sound, the engine came alive, driving the children onward.

“Not bad, this is much more convenient.”

Li Xiaobai nodded, “To Thousand Buddha Kingdom, to meet with Master Tianxuan!”

“Rumble rumble!”

But the truck, seemingly not responding to his words as if it hadn’t heard, drove on its own, and it wasn’t long before it was far away.

“Master, this disciple has just taken control of this magic treasure and will need a few days to adapt. You go ahead and cut down that old Bald Donkey Tianxuan, and I will wait here for your triumphant return!”

The voice of Fu Tiantian drifted into Li Xiaobai’s ears, and he almost rolled his eyes in frustration.

This little girl was always thinking of running away, showing no trust in her master whatsoever.

“An innocent man carries no guilt, but possessing a jewel incurs crime. My clever disciple, you should know, driving such a massive object through the world without your master accompanying you, you wouldn’t make it ten miles before being harmed by thieves and left without a trace.”

Li Xiaobai said with his hands behind his back, his tone casual.

“Rumble rumble!”

The distant truck suddenly performed a lofty and graceful turnabout, and within a few breaths of time, it charged back toward Li Xiaobai.

Fu Tiantian’s small head peeked out, “Master, your disciple has now mastered the driving of this mount and is ready for battle at any time, to fight for you and spill blood!”

Li Xiaobai revealed a smile, “A child that can be taught!”
