Chapter 2286: Chapter 2287: The Untouchable He Shirong

“I’ve already guessed,” Lin Yi took a sip of beer, “don’t rush, let’s first see what’s going on.”

Jiawei lit a cigarette, sauntering over to the inside of the bar counter.

At that moment, his gaze landed on Luo Qi.

Despite not being able to see those smooth, round thighs, those full peaks and her pretty melon-seed face struck him with awe.

It was rare to see such top-notch beauty at the West Coast Bar.

But soon, his gaze shifted to Lin Yi, revealing a hint of disdain in his eyes.

...

Jiawei took out a cocktail shaker and added more than a dozen different types of alcohol, showing off quite a few bartending tricks.

After a little over ten minutes, he crafted a pink and blue cocktail and gently pushed it toward Luo Qi.

“Beauty, this cocktail is called ‘Paris Lover,'” he said. “I personally think it suits your aura perfectly. This drink’s on me.”

A smile appeared at the corner of Luo Qi’s mouth, her eyes carrying a touch of haziness as she looked at Jiawei and said,

“Buddy, it’s a bit old-fashioned to hit on someone like that in this day and age.”

Jiawei wasn’t flustered and replied with a smile,

“It might be old-fashioned, but my sincerity is full.”

“If you say it like that, it’s quite touching, but if you can answer a few questions for me, I wouldn’t mind having a drink with you.”

“Of course, what do you want to ask?” Jiawei responded with a smile.

“You must know Huang Renbo, right?”

Hearing this, Jiawei’s expression subtly changed.

They had a good relationship, and he knew exactly what Huang Renbo did for a living.

His identity wasn’t something to be proud of; in other words, those who knew him were generally not good birds.

But thinking carefully, it had almost been a month since he last saw him, he had no idea where that bastard had run off to.

“What are you asking about him for?” Jiawei asked cautiously.

“We’re not exactly looking for him, mainly just want to understand the situation through you.”

“Understand the situation through me?”

“I’ve already found out about his identity, he’s an unregistered resident. I want to know if you’re familiar with his last employer. If you know, I hope you’ll be frank with me.”

Jiawei’s eyes suddenly became cold, and in an instant, he lost all interest in Luo Qi.

“Sorry, I have nothing to say. If you’re specifically here for this, you can leave now.”

“But Huang Renbo is dead, you’d better spill what you know. It’s better for all of us.”

Jiawei’s body stiffened, his head buzzing.

“Dead, dead!”

“Yes.”

It wasn’t so much a surprise, just regret.

Because someone like Huang Renbo earned his money with his life.

Before taking on that last job, he’d said that finishing the job would earn him two million, and then he’d wash his hands clean of the life—but unfortunately, things went south.

“Sorry, I have nothing to say. Settle the bill for the drinks, and you can leave now.”

Luo Qi’s delicate hand reached out, grabbing Jiawei’s wrist.

“What are you doing!”

“I haven’t finished my questions yet. It would be quite disrespectful if you just walked away like this.”

“Release me, damn it!”

Seeing himself under Luo Qi’s control, Jiawei instantly flared up.

But Luo Qi was no pushover, especially with Lin Yi there, she was fearless.

She grabbed Li Jiawei’s wrist and pulled it toward herself.

Then she stood up, grabbed his hair, and slammed his head down onto the bar.

The sudden turn of events dumbfounded everyone in the bar.

They all stopped what they were doing, confused, and looked over to see what had happened, all wanting to know what was going on.

Because Li Jiawei was He Shirong’s brother-in-law, and this was He Shirong’s territory.

This woman had done such a thing—wasn’t she afraid?

The two men sitting nearby felt their hearts race; they had just been admiring Luo Qi’s looks and figure.

They hadn’t expected this woman to be fiercer than they had imagined.

It was fortunate they hadn’t done anything excessive, or they could have been in real trouble.

At this moment, Lin Yi, sitting calmly at the side, leisurely drank his beer, adopting an indifferent attitude as if the affair had nothing to do with him.

“What the hell do you want? Let me go quickly, believe it or not, I’ll kill you!”

Li Jiawei, unable to free himself, cursed loudly but couldn’t shake off Luo Qi’s grasp.

Just then, the bar’s security rushed over, a total of seven or eight people, who surrounded Luo Qi and Lin Yi.

Although they were wearing security uniforms, they felt more like street gangsters dressed in a layer of skin.

Seven or eight security guards held various objects in their hands.

Some held baseball bats, others beer bottles.

One even held a dagger, all menacingly aimed at Luo Qi.

Conflict was imminent; the onlookers instinctively stepped back, sensing that something big was about to happen.

Li Jiawei looked relaxed, his backup had arrived, and he no longer had to fear the two of them.

“Before you answer my question, letting you go is out of the question.”

“Fine, if you’re so tough, keep pressing down on me. I want to see how long you can last.”

After making a threat, Li Jiawei yelled at the others, “What the hell are you staring at for? Do you want to see me get killed by a woman?”

Hearing Li Jiawei’s command, the seven or eight security guards didn’t think twice and rushed at Luo Qi with their weapons.

Luo Qi sat there unmoved, as if nothing had happened.

Lin Yi casually swung his beer bottle and smashed it over the head of the first person who charged at him.

The sound of the breaking bottle and the screams echoed simultaneously.

The security guard lay on the ground, clutching his head, shivering and rolling around.

The rest of them stood there as if nailed to the floor.

The man and the woman before them were far more formidable than they had imagined.

“Don’t go one by one; let’s do this together.”

The leader gave a signal and the rest of them, in unison, charged at Lin Yi.

Lin Yi rose from his chair, his eyes locked on the leader, pulled out the dagger hidden behind his back, grabbed one of their collars, and stabbed straight into the abdomen.

“You!”

The leader stared, seemingly in disbelief, and then all his strength drained away as he twisted and collapsed on the floor.

Now, no one dared to move, including Li Jiawei.

The ruthlessness of these two far exceeded his imagination.

The entire bar fell into dead silence; after such an incident, no one knew what to do next.

At that moment, a cold snort sounded.

“Let me see who is so bold to cause trouble on my turf, the West Coast Bar!”
