Chapter 1166: The Girl With The Mad Demon Bloodline
Ye Guan frowned as he looked at Zang Gang. He could sense an intense killing and evil intent from this little girl. Moreover, he could feel that the Mad Demon Bloodline in him recognized the girl.
Zang Gang turned around to leave.
Zhu Tao breathed a sigh of relief, but he was still afraid.
Ye Guan asked in a low voice, "Brother Tao, what is going on?"
Zhu Tao sighed. "It seems like there were a few people that went to the library to bully her. She then chased them with that dagger. She's really scary. She destroyed the entire library on her way here.
Ye Guan was dumbfounded.
Zhu Tao looked around and sighed once again.
Ye Guan looked at Zhu Tao and Aunt Jiang. "Brother Tao, Aunt Jiang, don't go anywhere for the time being, do you understand?"
The Abandoned Continent had become a lawless place. To make matters worse, the continent was about to be destroyed, so everyone was living in fear and despair.
The darker aspects of human nature would inevitably surface and spiral out of control. After making sure that Zhu Tao and Aunt Jiang were settled down, Ye Guan made his way to the Temple Academy. Following the bloody footprints left by Zang Gang, he found her in the library. Zang Gang sat quietly on the stone steps, holding an ancient book in her hands.
When Ye Guan arrived, Zang Gang glanced at him before continuing with her reading. Ye Guan stared at the Zang Gang and frowned slightly, realizing that his Mad Demon Bloodline was becoming restless as he approached her.
Just as he was about to speak, a powerful aura appeared on the horizon.
Ye Guan looked up sharply to see a massive mechanical construct descending straight down.
A mining cart!
Ye Guan's expression changed. Not just in the temple area—hundreds of these massive constructs were descending. His face darkened. Clearly, Chen Yitian intended to hasten the destruction of the Abandoned Continent.
Ye Guan was about to make a move, but then he realized that his cultivation base was sealed once again.
"My time is up?!" It hadn't even been an hour!
Little Pagoda replied, "Maybe your aunt changed her mind and reduced two hours to one hour."
Ye Guan's face immediately darkened.
Zang Gang suddenly grabbed her book and ran away.
Her speed left Ye Guan in shock, as Zang Gang was leaving afterimages in her wake.@@novelbin@@
Had she undergone some kind of training?
There was no time to think. Ye Guan turned and rushed back to Zhu Tao and Aunt Jiang's courtyard, grabbing the two of them and running away.
They had just left the Temple Academy when one of the massive machines landed inside. The academy was reduced to ashes in an instant. Simultaneously, a gigantic abyss appeared where it once stood, and it rapidly expanded outward. RАℕÔᛒÈṥ
Ye Guan dragged Zhu Tao and Aunt Jiang while chasing after the fleeing Zang Gang. They only stopped when the expanding abyss came to a halt behind them.
Ye Guan turned and looked at the abyss.
From deep within, rumbling noises echoed.
There were violent tremors everywhere, and the distant peaks on the horizon were collapsing as pillars of fire erupted before cascading down like torrential rain.
Ye Guan's face grew grim at the sight. At this rate, the Abandoned Continent would completely collapse within ten days at most. The people around were running desperately, searching for a safe place.
Zang Gang turned and began walking into the distance.
Ye Guan glanced at her and said, "Let's go."
With that, he led Zhu Tao and Aunt Jiang to follow her.
The three of them followed Zang Gang from noon until dusk. Just as night was about to fall, they arrived at a dilapidated city.
By this time, a large crowd had already gathered within the ruins of the city.
As the four of them stepped onto the streets, many eyes turned toward them, filled with ill intentions.
Suddenly, a man blocked Zang Gang's path. He looked her up and down, grinning mischievously. "Oh, it's a girl. Come on, call me big brother."
The man reached out to touch Zang Gang's face.
Without hesitation, Zang Gang drove a knife straight into his neck. Blood spurted out like a fountain. She yanked the knife out, and the blood gushed violently.
The man clutched his neck as he fell to the ground in terror. He convulsed violently as he lay there.
Zang Gang crouched down and stabbed his eyes twice in quick succession.
Ye Guan was dumbfounded.
Zhu Tao and Aunt Jiang stared at Zang Gang in fear.
The people in the shadows also grew wary. What a terrifying little girl.
Zang Gang stood up and walked away.
Ye Guan followed behind her with Zhu Tao and Aunt Jiang. Zhu Tao tugged on Ye Guan's sleeve and whispered, "Brother Ye, do we really have to follow her?"
He was genuinely frightened of the silent young girl.
Ye Guan glanced at Zang Gang and replied, "We're safer with her."
He was truly just an ordinary person here. He wasn't afraid for himself, but with Zhu Tao and Aunt Jiang in tow, he decided that following Zang Gang was the safer option.
They continued following her until they reached a dilapidated hall. The walls were broken, and the wind whistled through every crevice.
Zang Gang entered, gathered some dry branches, and lit a fire with a flint from her pocket. Then she took out a bun and ate it before reading the book in her hand.
Zhu Tao and Aunt Jiang stayed on the other side of the hall, far away from her, lighting their own fire.
Ye Guan noticed the book that Zang Gang was reading and was surprised to find that it wasn't "Anatomy" but a basic manual on blade techniques.
Just then, Zang Gang looked up at Ye Guan. She was covered in blood, but her eyes remained clear and bright.
Ye Guan asked, "What is it?"
Zang Gang turned the book around and pointed to a character. "How do you read this?"
Ye Guan glanced at the character and replied, "Cū."
"What does it mean?"
"It means rough or coarse."
Zang Gang nodded and returned to her reading.
Ye Guan glanced at her again before joining Zhu Tao and Aunt Jiang. Zhu Tao took a bun from his pocket and handed it to Ye Guan. "Here, Brother Ye, eat this."
Ye Guan accepted it with a smile. "Thank you."
Zhu Tao hesitated before sighing softly. "Brother Ye, if I'd known you only had one Tianxuan Token, I wouldn't have...I really owe you an apology."
He had assumed Ye Guan had two Tianxuan Tokens. Now it was clear he only had one. If he had two, he would have left this place long ago.
Ye Guan smiled. "It's nothing. Don't overthink it."
Zhu Tao sighed again, still feeling guilty.
Ye Guan took a bite of the bun and said, "Let's rest here for a bit."
"Alright."
Just then, a middle-aged man in a black robe appeared at the doorway.
Ye Guan frowned. The man was a Martial Master. Why is a Martial Master here? Hadn't they all already left? Is he looking for me?
While Ye Guan was wondering, the black-robed man looked at Zang Gang. "You killed Zhou Die."
Zhou Die.
Ye Guan immediately understood—the man was here for revenge.
Zang Gang looked at the middle-aged man without saying a word.
The middle-aged man slowly approached her and said, "The Zhou Clan has offered one thousand spiritual crystals for your life. If you can give me two thousand, I'll spare you."
Zang Gang stared at him with a blank expression.
The man shook his head slightly. "Don't play innocent with me. I've already investigated—it was your doing. You—"
Zang Gang suddenly kicked the fire pit, sending several burning branches toward the middle-aged man. His expression instantly turned cold. With a flick of his sleeve, he unleashed a wave of energy, scattering the branches.
However, Zang Gang was already upon him, and she thrust the weapon in her hand toward the middle-aged man's abdomen.
She was astonishingly fast, and her movements were ruthless. However, the man was a Martial Master. As Zang Gang closed in, he punched out violently. His fist, glowing with energy, flew with tremendous force.
Bang!
The attack forced Zang Gang to a halt, and she retreated to the fire pit. Without hesitation, she kicked up a pile of ashes toward the middle-aged man.
The middle-aged man swept his sleeve again, blocking the attack, but Zang Gang darted forward once more, aiming her dagger at his head. Her blade, however, collided with his energy-coated fist.
Bang!
The clash sent Zang Gang flying away. The middle-aged man stepped forward, bringing his elbow down on her with crushing force. Zang Gang dropped to the ground and grabbed a handful of ash before hurling it toward the middle-aged man's face.
The middle-aged man instinctively pulled back to shield his eyes, giving Zang Gang an opening. She leaped up and slashed out at his arm.
Clang!
Sparks flew, and the middle-aged man staggered back several steps, revealing a piece of soft armor beneath his sleeve.
Off to the side, Ye Guan watched with shock. He realized that Zang Gang had no cultivation whatsoever. She was relying solely on lethal combat techniques. Had it not been for the middle-aged man's armor, he would have lost an arm.
The middle-aged man's face twisted in anger. He hadn't expected to suffer even a minor loss to an ordinary girl without cultivation.
Seeing Zang Gang charging at him again, the middle-aged man lightly tapped the ground with his foot. His figure blurred into a shadow, moving at incredible speed.
He was performing a body technique, and his speed increased tenfold in an instant. He reached Zang Gang in a flash, grabbing her by the throat. Just as he was about to tighten his grip, Zang Gang thrust her blade into his eye.
"Argh!"
The middle-aged man let out a blood-curdling scream. His grip on Zang Gang's throat tightened, ready to crush her neck. However, a faint crimson light suddenly erupted from Zang Gang, blasting the middle-aged man away.
At the same time, the middle-aged man exploded into bloody mist, which was quickly absorbed by Zang Gang.
Ye Guan bolted upright, staring at Zang Gang sprawled out on the ground. He was trembling as he muttered, "T-t-that's the aura of the Mad Demon Bloodline! What is going on here? Is this even possible?"
What do you think?
