Chapter 1201: Four Great Surnames!
In a silent star field, Ye Guan flew slowly alongside the Multiverse Emperor.
It had been half a month since he left the Divine Ruins.
The Multiverse Emperor had been leading Ye Guan through different star fields. Even after half a month, however, they still hadn't arrived at their destination.
Ye Guan was a bit surprised. After all, with the Multiverse Emperor's current strength, a casual move could bring them across tens of thousands of star fields.
Although he knew that the known universe was vast, the journey still left Ye Guan shocked and surprised. Along the way, they encountered several other civilizations, but none of them were particularly advanced.
Five days later, the both of them arrived at another star field. It was vast and mysterious, with countless stars shining brilliantly like a painting.
However, it was eerily silent—so quiet that it was terrifying.
When the Multiverse Emperor came to a halt, Ye Guan asked, "Have we arrived yet?"
The Multiverse Emperor nodded slightly and pointed at somewhere. "Young Master Ye, look."
Ye Guan looked up and saw a stone tablet in the distance. It wasn't very large and was only about ten meters tall.
It appeared to be as small as a speck of dust amidst the radiant stars.
The Multiverse Emperor explained, "Young Master Ye, that is the entrance to the Nine Continent Domain. I can only lead you this far."
Ye Guan was confused. "Why?"
He hoped that the Multiverse Emperor would take him directly to his big sister.
The Multiverse Emperor explained, "Whenever an expert enters the Nine Continent Domain, their strength will be suppressed by the restrictions at the entrance.
"My entry will also attract the guards of the Nine Continent Domain. It will be troublesome."
"Does that mean I'll get suppressed once I go in?"
The Multiverse Emperor shook his head. "No, your cultivation has been sealed by your aunt, so they won't be able to sense it."
Ye Guan thought for a moment and then asked, "What currency is being used in the Nine Continents?"
"Immortal Essence Crystals. While the spiritual crystals from outside civilizations can be used, you will need to exchange them for Immortal Essence Crystals once you're inside.
"How much you'll get depends on the purity of your spiritual crystals."
The Multiverse Emperor opened his palm, and a storage ring flew out from his hand, eventually landing in front of Ye Guan. "Young Master Ye, this storage ring contains some Immortal Essence Crystals that I have. It's not a lot, just slightly over ten thousand. Keep it for your use."
Ye Guan nodded and accepted the storage ring. "You can go ahead and head back, then."
The Multiverse Emperor seemed like he had more to say, but he stopped himself. After a while, he said, "Young Master Ye, take care."
Ye Guan nodded quietly.
The Multiverse Emperor bowed slightly and opened his palm.
Ye Guan couldn't fly by himself, so the Multiverse Emperor sent a wave of air to wrap around the former. Then, he flicked his finger, and a beam of white light entered Ye Guan's brow.
Ancient characters and words appeared within Ye Guan's sea of consciousness.
The Multiverse Emperor said, "Young Master Ye, I just gave you the common language of the Nine Continents."
"Got it."
"Young Master Ye, take care."
With that, the Multiverse Emperor turned around and disappeared into the starry skies.
Little Pagoda remarked, "He probably wanted you to help him with something."
Ye Guan nodded. "He knows I'm too weak, so he didn't bring it up."
"Are you going to look for your sister now?"
"Why do you think I'm here?" Ye Guan asked back.
Since he was unfamiliar with the Nine Continents, Ye Guan thought that it would be safer to look for his sister first before anything else.
His cultivation base was still sealed, after all.
With that thought in mind, Ye Guan felt his head hurt. Since his cultivation base was sealed, he couldn't really travel properly. However, he had no choice. He
He could only hope that Zang Gang was really from the Nine Continents.
Setting his worries aside, Ye Guan walked toward the distant stone tablet. Soon, he arrived in front of it. From a distance, the stone tablet seemed small.
When he got closer to it, however, he found that it was actually massive. The stone tablet was ancient and looked as if it had been there for a long time, proven by the traces of wear and tear over time.
The Nine Continent Domain!
Ye Guan walked toward the stone tablet.
As soon as he walked into the stone tablet, the space before him trembled.
The next moment, he vanished into thin air.
After an unknown amount of time, Ye Guan opened his eyes and found himself standing before a small town. A stone gate stood in front of him.
It was only a few meters high and was a bit damaged. A few children were playing in front of it. Within the gate, countless columns of smoke slowly rose, merging with the white clouds in the sky.
Ye Guan was puzzled. Where am I?
He walked towards the town and reached the stone gate. He looked up at it and saw three words written about it that said, "Nine Continents Town."
Ye Guan let out a sigh of relief. He was transported to the right place.
He walked into the town.
The streets were narrow and winding, with an uneven and bumpy road surface, making it difficult to walk. As he walked along the stone-paved roads, he saw various shops and residences lining both sides of the street.
These buildings had a heavy and ancient atmosphere, clearly having existed for a long time.
The town was quite large, and the streets were bustling with people, which made it feel lively.
Ye Guan walked down the streets, and no one paid him any particular attention. He looked around curiously and noticed that everyone here had some cultivation base, although not that high.
Their cultivation base was comparable to those in the Heavenly World, and the sight surprised him.
Just then, a voice echoed beside him. "Young man."
Ye Guan turned to see a Daoist. He appeared to be in his thirties, dressed in a worn Daoist robe that had several patches on it. A dirty and blackened horsetail whisk was in his hand.
The Daoist's gaze was deep, and he was smiling faintly.
The Daoist was sitting behind a small stall with a white cloth hanging over it. On the cloth, the following words were written, "Golden Words of Wisdom, Believe It or Not, But You Cannot Ignore It."
Ye Guan was surprised. "Did you call out to me?"
The Daoist smiled and nodded. "Yes."
Ye Guan walked over to him.
The Daoist sized Ye Guan up. "What's your name, young man?"
"Ye Guan."
The Daoist paused for a moment before asking, "Ye, you said?"
Ye Guan nodded.
He stroked his beard and smiled. "That's a good surname."
Ye Guan chuckled. "Why did you say that?"
"The Ye surname is one of the Four Great Surnames in ancient and modern times. Have you heard of the Four Great Surnames?"
Ye Guan shook his head.
The Daoist priest smiled slightly and explained, "The Four Great Surnames are Ye, Xiao, Lin, and Chu. These four surnames have produced many extraordinary individuals."
"And you are…?" Ye Guan asked.
"A fortune teller. Some of my old friends used to call me Daoist Zhang."
Ye Guan nodded slightly. "Daoist Zhang, did you call me because you have something to say?"
"I see that you are a fine young man, noble beyond words. Therefore, I'd like to offer you a fortune reading. It will only cost you one Immortal Essence Crystal."
Ye Guan shook his head. "I'm not interested in fortune telling."
With that, he turned around to leave.
Daoist Zhang quickly grabbed his sleeve and eagerly asked, "Why not? Young man, you can trust me. I've never been wrong. My predictions are always correct."
Ye Guan stopped in his tracks and turned to look at Daoist Zhang. "Most people can't read my fate.
Daoist Zhang was taken aback slightly, and then he laughed. "It seems that you are truly no ordinary person. However, I have calculated the fates of countless individuals in my life, and there has never been one that I couldn't read."
Ye Guan looked at Daoist Zhang, knowing from his vast experience that this man wasn't simple. He smiled and said, "Daoist Zhang, my destiny is beyond the reach of most people. How about I let you read someone else's destiny instead?"
Ye Guan took out his tiny pagoda and asked, "How about you calculate Master Pagoda's destiny?"
Daoist Zhang glanced at the tiny pagoda.
A hint of surprise flashed across his eyes as he asked, "What is this?"
Ye Guan replied, "This is Master Pagoda."
"Young man, may I have a look at it?"
"No problem." With that, Ye Guan handed the tiny pagoda to him.
Daoist Zhang accepted the tiny pagoda and started inspecting it. Gradually, his expression grew more serious.
"So, what do you think?" Ye Guan asked.
Daoist Zhang looked up at Ye Guan. "Is this tiny pagoda yours, young man?"
Ye Guan nodded.
Daoist Zhang's face became more solemn. "This tiny pagoda… contains an unknown and immense Great Dao fortune. The intensity of the fortune is something I've never seen before."
Ye Guan smiled slightly. Daoist Zhang clearly had some skills.
Ye Guan asked, "So what is his fate like?"
Daoist Zhang sincerely remarked, "As long as its Great Dao fortune remains, its fate will remain to be of nobility beyond measure."
Daoist Zhang returned the tiny pagoda to Ye Guan.
Ye Guan accepted the tiny pagoda and smiled. "Thank you."
Then, he took out an Immortal Essence Crystal and handed it to Daoist Zhang.
Daoist Zhang accepted the Immortal Essence Crystal and chuckled. "Young man, are you sure you don't want me to read your fate?"
Ye Guan shook his head. "It's okay."
Daoist Zhang thought for a moment, and then he nodded slightly. "Well, it isn't the right time, so I won't pressure you."
Ye Guan asked, "You don't seem like an ordinary person. Could you tell me more about this place?"
"Is this your first time here?"
"Yes."
The smile on Daoist Zhang's face turned strange.
Noticing the change in his expression, Ye Guan felt a little confused. "What's wrong?"
Daoist Zhang smiled, but his gaze was curious. "Did you come here from the entrance of the Nine Continent Domain?"
Ye Guan nodded.
Daoist Zhang suddenly sighed. "As expected of the first blessed land of the Nine Continents, the Nine Continent Town. It is truly impressive."
Ye Guan was confused by what he was hearing.
Daoist Zhang laughed. "You may not know this, but this is indeed the Nine Continent Town. It's part of the Nine Continents, but it exists independently from the rest of the Nine Continents. You can say it's a blessed land."
Ye Guan was intrigued. "Independent from the Nine Continents?"
Daoist Zhang nodded. "Yes, this is the first blessed land of the Nine Continents. Long ago, the ruler of the Nine Continents pointed his finger and blessed this land.
"The luck of the Nine Continents exists within this town, and anyone born here possesses great fortune from the moment they take their first breath…"
Luck? Ye Guan was surprised. He glanced at the people around him on the street. Ye Guan could not perceive much as his cultivation was sealed, but from what he could tell, their cultivation base was quite low.
He turned to Daoist Zhang, who seemed to have seen through his thoughts.
Daoist Zhang chuckled and remarked, "Don't be fooled by their low cultivation base. That's because they haven't started cultivating. Of course, most of them will never leave this place. Every ten years, only two or three people can get out of this town."
Upon hearing that, Ye Guan's face darkened as he asked, "There are restrictions on this place?"
"Of course." Daoist Zhang nodded. "To leave, someone from the outside has to pay a tremendous price to take you away. Otherwise, you'll never get out of here."
Ye Guan's face darkened even further.
What do you think?
