I have an Apocalypse City

Chapter 790 - 791: Forming an Alliance

Chapter 790: Chapter 791: Forming an Alliance

Katie’s face turned pale, her cheeks bearing black patterns like blooming roses, and two small, sharp horns were sprouting on top of her head.

Seeing that Song Jian had not ceased attacking her, Katie immediately spoke, “Do you know, you’re about to die!”

“By your hands?” Song Jian sneered. His four long swords kept attacking. Even though the shield Katie had conjured did not show any damage numbers, it had already begun to crack.

Katie was horrified. She had never expected Song Jian’s attack to be this strong. She had battled a five-member team before, and until she killed all five, they hadn’t managed to break her shield’s defense. @@novelbin@@

Katie was startled by Song Jian’s strikes. While Song Jian couldn’t see the shield’s damage, Katie saw it clearly. Her skill only rendered her invincible for the first three seconds, after which it merely reduced 35% of the damage.

Given Song Jian’s attack intensity, the shield would completely shatter in about five more seconds. If the shield breaks, with Katie’s defense, she would probably be killed instantly by Song Jian.

...

She had to either flee immediately or make Song Jian stop attacking. Katie chose the latter.

“Do you know, nearly all Abyss players in the Flame Furnace have come to the Demon Slayer Canyon, and your bounty has attracted a lot of NPC bounty hunters!” Katie spoke quickly, “When the time comes, the entire Demon Slayer Canyon will be searched inch by inch. You’ll have no place to hide. Right now, I’m the only one who can help you!”

Song Jian paused, and with a gesture from his right hand, he halted his assault. He originally thought that he would only be hunted by members of the Fallen Angel Alliance. It had never occurred to him that his actions would alarm a main city’s players, or even attract NPC bounty hunters. What happened exactly?

“Explain what happened. Why are so many people chasing me?” Song Jian asked curiously.

“Don’t you know what you have done?” Katie sighed in relief when she saw Song Jian stop his attack. With a wave of her magic staff, the shield that had been badly damaged and almost unrecognizable gradually vanished.

Katie slowly floated down from mid-air, standing before Song Jian. Her bloody-red eyes were filled with curiosity.

“You’re the bravest person I’ve met!” Katie smiled, “My name is Katie, and I am the leader of the Thorny Bird Alliance!”

Song Jian was taken aback. He hadn’t expected the girl in front of him to be a leader of an alliance.

“We have fewer than three hundred members. Compared to the City of Hope, we are nothing!” Katie laughed.

Song Jian’s intel had been thoroughly sifted through by the people in the Flame Furnace. His public info was well-known. Ever since the City of Hope Alliance was established successfully, countless players wanted to join. The current City of Hope Alliance, however, had tough requirements for their new recruits.

The three hundred players who had together defended the city were now core players, receiving significantly increased benefits. The selected players, after layers of screenings, exceeded six hundred. Almost all of the elite players in Doomsday City were included. The City of Hope Alliance’s power skyrocketed, and their fame had even spread beyond Doomsday City.

“I hope your information doesn’t disappoint me,” Song Jian wasn’t moved by Katie’s compliment. He wasn’t afraid of the Abyss players’ pursuit. He could always leave and return to the City of Hope Alliance.

Still, if others found out he had left, he might be ambushed again just like last time. After all, every time he used the Abyssal Gate, he needed to wait for its one-day cooldown period. And he couldn’t possibly not enter the Abyssal Hell since his mission was half completed.

“Do you know how much your bounty is in the Flame Furnace? The latest news is that your bounty has reached 1.8 million Doomsday Coins!” Katie glanced at the information and said.

As time went by, Song Jian’s bounty kept increasing. It was now the highest bounty ever offered in the Flame Furnace’s history.

“The number of players hunting you has exceeded two thousand. In addition, some famous NPC bounty hunters, like Abyss Gunner Burn, Ghostly Phantom Lobos, and Abyss Wanderer Branqi, have also joined the hunt!” Katie said, “Mind you, these bounty hunters are very powerful. Each of them possesses the highest level of first-order combat power. However strong you are, you can’t be a match for them!”

“First-order combat power peak?” Song Jian narrowed his eyes, feeling the pressure.

“Why do you want to help me?” Song Jian asked.

“Of course, I need your help in return if I help you. You can freely come and go from the Abyssal Hell and you’re also the leader of a strong alliance. I need your friendship!” said Katie.

“What if I tell you that I don’t need your help and that I won’t be killed by those people. Would you believe me?” Song Jian confidently stated.

Katie was speechless. In her opinion, Song Jian was a little too arrogant. To her, even disregarding the Abyss players hunting him, any of the bounty hunters could easily overcome Song Jian.

“In that case, let’s just wait and see. If you need my help, you can contact me through this!” Katie threw a ring at Song Jian, then turned and walked away with an unhappy look.

After Katie left, the Abyssal Chains that bound the Heavenly Angel Kekaul broke apart, and Kekaul, his face flushed, got up with a look of shame.

“I’m sorry, I…” Kekaul said in a low voice.

Song Jian made a dismissive gesture with his hand. Kekaul was not weak by any means. After all, he was a level-fifty elite Boss with a first-order combat power peak. However, after being chained for hundreds of years, Kekaul had perhaps forgotten most of his combat skills, and was in a weakened state. His current power was probably equivalent to a level-thirty-five elite Boss.

Song Jian looked at the ring Katie had thrown him. The silver-quality ring was a communication ring, made in pairs. One can talk to the owner of the other ring with one of them, much like a walkie-talkie.

Song Jian couldn’t add Abyss players as friends, nor could he communicate with them. If it weren’t for the fact he knew Abyss languages, normal communication would have been impossible.

To communicate long distances, he had to use tools. That was why Katie gave him one of the communication rings.

After inspecting the ring’s features, Song Jian casually put it into his bag. Katie wouldn’t help a player on an opposing team so wholeheartedly. Rather than bounties, she wanted more.

This was a minor interruption. However, now that he knew many were out to kill him, Song Jian certainly wouldn’t continue to the entrance of Demon Slayer Canyon.

“Since you all want to kill me, let’s have some fun right here!” Song Jian snorted coldly, turned around, walked toward Broken Stone Mountain.
