Chapter 909: Chapter 910 Enslavement_1
Bonita, as the scout of the team, had high perception and was always attentive to his surroundings during battle. He noticed that there was nothing particularly strange about Song Jian; it was just that Song Jian’s speed was so fast that Bonita had no time to react before Song Jian had already entered the Judgment Hall;
“Should we go check out that building later?” Bonita pointed at the Judgment Hall and asked;
“What, did you find something?” A warrior wielding a double-handed sword asked after he fiercely knocked down a monster and wiped the blood that had splashed onto his face;
“Just now, it seemed like a shadow slipped in there,” Bonita pointed at the Judgment Hall and said;
“Just one person?” Tula frowned slightly, glanced in the direction Bonita was pointing, and said, “Let’s finish the mission first, then if we have time, we’ll go take a look.”
Song Jian had previously guessed that these people, like himself, had acquired the dungeon key and thus had come here, but in reality, these several people had taken on a hidden quest after entering Sky City, which is how they ended up at this location;
“Alright, the monsters nearby have been mostly cleared out. Yani, go lure the Guardian in front of that pillar, but be careful, those Guardians are elite bosses,” Tula pointed at the nearest stone pillar and said;
The stone pillars were covered in cracks, with patterns inscribed upon them that were no longer visible, looking like they could collapse at any moment. Beneath each one, a huge monster lay prostrate, with fearsome appearances. If any other monsters approached them, these creatures would violently surge forward and tear the intruders to shreds. This resulted in a radius of several meters around each pillar where no monster dared to venture, save for the Guardians of the pillars themselves;
Yani was the archer always assigned to pull monsters in the team. He was a Magic Archer, capable of enchanting his arrows with various magical effects. He also mastered close-quarters bow-fighting techniques, making his strength formidable;
First, Yani cast a Slow Arrow, which not only lured the Guardian but reduced its movement speed by 30%. Then, Yani’s bow rained down a barrage of magic-infused arrows, dealing substantial damage before the boss even got close;
As the effect of the Slow Arrow wore off, the boss, on all fours, roared and charged at Yani. Just then, a Shield Warrior wielding a large shield slammed into the boss, toppling the over two-meter-tall stalwart creature. Following a thunderous roar, his sword struck the boss, leaving an “Armor Break” effect on its body;
With a series of combo attacks, the Shield Warrior successfully drew the boss’s ire onto himself, while simultaneously, his teammates unleashed all their firepower. The Guardian boss let out cries of agony and was brought to the brink of death within five short minutes;
“Solanda, come, let’s see if you can enslave this boss,” Tula, the team leader with the double-handed sword, called out to a young man standing at the back of the group;
A slender boy slowly approached; during the prior fight, he had stood at a distance, watching without joining the fray, yet no one on the team looked displeased. Even when the team leader offered up the dying boss for the boy to enslave, no one showed any signs of discontent;
The Guardian boss had a very strong combat instinct, and even in a dying state, it had not given up the fight. Struggling on the ground, it tried to rise again, but its weakened state caused its attributes to diminish, and it failed to stand up after several attempts;
Solanda seemed a bit apprehensive, standing far away from the boss, with his hands raised above his head. In no time at all, a deep purple book began to materialize in his empty hands;
Rustle~
The book opened by itself without any wind, flipping to a certain page, and Solanda began to recite the incantation. In an instant, the sky changed dramatically: what was once clear and sunny quickly gathered into a massive dark cloud. The thick clouds roiled incessantly, and soon a gigantic vortex appeared at their center.
A colossal claw covered with long, brown fur stretched out from the vortex and slammed down viciously on the Guardian Boss, who was already on the brink of death.
A piercing scream resounded as the Guardian Boss was directly squished into a pulp by the colossal claw that emerged from midair.
Soon, a translucent white soul floated up from the corpse of the Guardian Boss. Its eyes filled with confusion, it seemed not to realize that it had already died.
At that moment, Solanda’s chanting grew louder suddenly, and the Boss’s soul’s expression changed drastically, roaring as it attempted to flee into the distance.
But from the deep purple book in Solanda’s hands, a powerful suction force emerged, pulling the white soul of the Boss from afar into the book.
Boom~
After a thunderous roar, the dark clouds in the sky vanished in an instant, leaving only a pool of vile blood and pulp on the ground.
“How’s it going, Solanda? You must have succeeded, right?” Tula, the Double-handed Sword wielder, hurriedly asked.
Solanda quickly flipped through the book to check and, after a short while, his face broke into a joyful expression. He nodded repeatedly and said, “Yes, this time I finally succeeded!”
“Phew, we finally did it, and this was already the fifth Boss!” The Magic Archer Yani made a face at Solanda and said.
“Quick, tell us, what skills can you release this time?” Bonita asked eagerly.
Every time Solanda enslaved a Boss, he would obtain several special skills from them. These skills were related to the Boss but were not necessarily skills possessed by the Boss.
“One Howling skill, which increases all team members’ damage by 35%, and another that increases attack speed, adding 15% attack speed for 30 seconds. Last, there’s a special skill, Blood Shadow Stacking, which consumes 90% of Spirit Points to summon thirty Blood Shadow Slaves, attacking the target for 10 seconds. The Blood Shadow Slaves cannot be locked on and are immune to attacks!” Solanda read all the newly obtained skills from a page imprinted with the Boss’s likeness, “However, after using this skill, I can’t invoke the Summoning Beast Soul skill to call upon the Boss to help in battle. We must wait for a 5-minute cooldown period to end.”
“Whew, that’s quite powerful. Come on, give me that Howling to try out first, let me feel the sensation of a 35% damage boost.” Tula seemed quite satisfied with the skills Solanda gained, smiling as he spoke.
“First, give me the increase in attack speed. I’m going to lure another Boss, to see what powerful skills this Boss can provide you!” Yani said to Solanda in a hurry.
…
What do you think?
