I Inherited Trillions, Now What?

Chapter 54 Shareholders' meeting

Everlyn Hawthorne strode into the opulent office of Alexander Blackwell. The room, bathed in warm amber light from the setting sun, was a testament to his power and precision—a place where decisions that moved markets were made.

Alexander sat behind his sleek ebony desk, the leather chair perfectly adjusted to his towering frame. His head was bent over a set of files, his sharp black eyes scanning the documents with intense focus. As Everlyn approached, her gaze flitted to the papers before him. She caught a fleeting glimpse of something—just the year 2008 typed in bold across one corner.

She raised an eyebrow but quickly dismissed it. Whatever Alexander Blackwell was working on, it wasn't her place to pry.

"Sir," she began, her tone professional but urgent. "We have an issue. It's just as we predicted—Jensen Huang has disapproved of us entering the board."

Alexander didn't look up immediately. He let the silence linger, his finger tapping lightly against the desk. Finally, he spoke, his voice calm and commanding.

"Then make the necessary calls and request a shareholders' meeting," he said, his tone carrying an unyielding finality. "We have to ensure we're in a decision-making position within NVIDIA."

"On it, sir," Everlyn replied briskly, turning to leave.

Just as she reached the door, Alexander's voice stopped her in her tracks.

"Everlyn," he said, his gaze now fixed on her. "I want you to personally handle the meeting. Make sure all our interests and goals are protected."

She turned back, standing straighter. "Yes, my Blackwell, sir," she said, her voice firm with determination.

As Everlyn left, Alexander leaned back in his chair, his mind returning to the files in front of him. The year 2008 wasn't just a date; it was a reminder of a specific event that had shaped his strategy. He had been studying the intricate details of this event for weeks now, carefully planning his next steps.

"When I implement this," he thought to himself, his fingers brushing against the edge of the paper, "it will be the first step toward solving everything."

The NVIDIA shares? They were merely groundwork, the foundation for a much larger scheme. But since he was already acquiring the company's stock, Alexander resolved to ensure it aligned with the Blackwell philosophy of dominating every sector they invested in.

With a smirk, he closed the file and leaned forward, resting his elbows on the desk. The world would soon witness the might of Blackwell Investments—not just in finance, but in every realm they touched.

In another part of the island, Everlyn sat in a private office, her phone pressed to her ear. Her voice was steady, calculated, as she spoke to the person on the other end.

"Yes, we've decided to hold a shareholders' meeting," she said, her tone leaving no room for negotiation.

The voice on the other side responded, measured and deliberate.

Everlyn's lips curled into a faint smile. "Yes, we'll hold up our end of the deal. Just make sure it passes through. We can both get what we want."

After a brief pause, the voice responded again.

"Understood. Thank you, Mr. Ramji," Everlyn said before ending the call. She leaned back in her chair for a moment, her mind racing through the next steps. Everything had to be perfect; failure was not an option when Alexander Blackwell's interests were on the line.

Meanwhile, Jensen Huang sat in his spacious office, basking in the satisfaction of his earlier encounter with Blackwell Investments' representative. His office was as minimalist as it was intimidating, with walls lined by accolades and a single, meticulously placed model of NVIDIA's latest chip design.

A small smile played on his lips as he reflected on the interaction. He loathed the financial elites—those who thought that their wealth entitled them to everything. Jensen had learned the hard way, back when NVIDIA was just a fledgling company, how ruthless those financiers could be. They had dangled funding like a carrot, bleeding his company dry in the process.

But they had underestimated him. Jensen's tenacity and brilliance had not only saved NVIDIA but propelled it to heights no one had imagined. He had wrestled back control of his company and turned it into a global powerhouse.

And soon, the latest chip—one he was tempted to name the Jensen Chip—would change the entire tech landscape. It was more than a technological marvel; it was a legacy piece, something that would immortalize his name in the annals of history. When it launched, those same financial elites who once underestimated him would be groveling for a chance to secure a piece of it.

His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of his office door swinging open. Jensen's smile faltered as he looked up to see his COO, a no-nonsense man in his fifties, walking in without knocking.

"Hey! Why didn't you—" Jensen started, irritation evident in his tone.

The COO cut him off, his expression grim. "Jensen, we might have a little problem. Blackwell Investments is calling for a shareholders' meeting."

The room fell silent, Jensen's earlier satisfaction replaced by a storm of emotions. He clenched his jaw, his mind already calculating his next move.

"Of course they are," he muttered under his breath, leaning back in his chair. His hands gripped the armrests tightly as his mind raced. Blackwell Investments wasn't going to give up easily, but neither was he.

"Let's see what their next play is," Jensen said finally, his tone resolute. "And then we'll show them what NVIDIA is made of."
