I Killed The Main Characters

Chapter 210 Instructor Noah Ashbourne [2]

Noah stood before the first-year Class 1A.

His sharp, calculating gaze sweeping across the room.

The students, still murmuring from the unexpected and stern introduction earlier, quieted as he rapped his black staff twice against the marble floor.

"The information I've given you so far..."

Noah began, his tone cold and commanding.

"...is what every other class is being told.

No more, no less.

However, as your acting homeroom professor, I expect nothing less than perfection from each and every one of you.

No exceptions, no in-betweens."

The air grew heavy as his words sank in.

"I understand that many of you think this is beyond your abilities.

You're wrong.

If you fail, it will not only reflect poorly on you but also on me.

And I refuse to be associated with mediocrity."@@novelbin@@

He straightened his black blazer, the white gloves on his hands catching the light.

"To ensure that doesn't happen, I'm going to give you an edge—

A chance to experience a fraction of what you'll face during the midterm exams."

Noah gestured for the students to follow him.

He led them through the grand hallways of the academy until they arrived at a massive building with a dome-like structure at its top.

The sheer size of it was intimidating, and its pristine white walls seemed to glow under the midday sun.

"This..."

Noah said, his voice echoing.

"...is the [Simulacrum Dome].

It's where some of the academy's most advanced tests are conducted.

Today, you'll have the pleasure of facing me in a small exercise."

The students exchanged wary glances as they stepped inside.

The interior was even more awe-inspiring—

A vast, white expanse stretching endlessly.

It felt as though the space could contain the entire academy faculty and students with room to spare.

Noah stepped to the center of the room, tapping his staff twice again.

The white surroundings shimmered, dissolving into a dense forest.

Trees with thick trunks and sprawling branches rose around them.

Their canopies allowing only minimal light to filter through.

Boulders were scattered across the uneven ground.

And the air was filled with the faint rustle of leaves.

"Now..."

Noah said, shrugging off his black blazer and hanging it over his shoulders.

"This coat will act as your flag.

Your task is simple.

Stay connected through My Virtual Library Empire

Take it from me before I reach the end of this forest.

If I make it there without losing the coat, you all fail."

He smirked, adjusting the coat casually.

"Of course, I don't plan on letting this designer piece get dirty.

So I suggest you try your best.

Or don't.

It makes no difference to me."

Noah tapped his staff against the ground once more, and the atmosphere grew tense.

"You have ten seconds to disperse.

Go."

The students hesitated for a moment before scattering into the forest, their footsteps crunching against the undergrowth.

Noah stood still, listening as the sound of their movements faded.

---

Noah began walking, his pace slow and deliberate.

Despite turning off his [Killing Detection] skill, he could still sense the intense focus of his students.

Their mana flared wildly, betraying their locations even before they attacked.

The first came quickly—

A pair of students leaping out from behind a boulder, their hands glowing with magical energy.

"Foolish..."

Noah muttered, sidestepping effortlessly.

With a flick of his staff, a patch of ice spread beneath their feet, sending them sprawling to the ground.

He tapped his staff again, encasing one of them in a cage of ice while the other dangled from a tree by a frozen tether.

"I expected more coordination..."

Noah said, not breaking his stride.

The attacks came more frequently after that.

Groups of students attempted to surround him, casting fireballs and water jets in synchronized patterns.

Noah deflected each spell with minimal effort.

The blue diamond atop his staff shimmering as he redirected the magic back at them.

『Stigma from Curse: Magic Nullification is in use! 』

"Your spells are predictable..."

He said, his voice carrying over the chaos.

"Do you think you'll survive against second-years with such basic tactics?

Pathetic."

One student, braver than the rest, charged at Noah with a sword enveloped in lightning.

Noah parried the attack with his staff, the force of the clash sending a shockwave through the forest.

He twisted the weapon, disarming the student and pinning them against a tree with a shard of ice.

"You rely too much on your weapon."

Noah said coldly.

"What happens when someone takes it from you?

Learn to adapt."

Despite their failures, the students didn't relent.

Waves of them came at him, using increasingly creative strategies—combining spells, setting traps, and even attempting ambushes from above.

But Noah remained unfazed.

He used minimal ice magic, focusing instead on countering their attacks with precision.

A student who tried to sneak up on him found themselves frozen mid-air, suspended by an icy tendril.

Another who launched a fireball was met with a wall of ice that reflected the flames back at them.

Noah moved like a shadow, his black staff striking with calculated force.

He didn't just defeat them—he humiliated them, exposing their weaknesses with every move.

"Your coordination is sloppy."

He said after dismantling a group of five.

"Do you think the second-years will wait for you to form a plan?

They'll crush you before you can blink."

His words cut deeper than any physical blow, but he didn't care.

This was a test, and they needed to learn.

As Noah neared the end of the forest, the attacks dwindled.

Most of the students were either incapacitated or too wary to face him again.

But one figure stood in his path, her black hair swaying gently in the breeze.

"Iris..."

Noah said, narrowing his eyes.

Her red eyes gleamed with amusement, and she smiled, her hands resting on her hips.

"Professor."

She said sweetly, stepping aside.

Noah didn't stop to question her.

He tapped his staff twice.

And the forest dissolved, returning them to the white expanse of the Simulacrum Dome.

Noah stood before the class.

His gaze sweeping over the defeated students.

Some were nursing minor injuries, while others avoided his eyes.

"Hopeless."

He said, his voice cutting through the silence.

"Absolutely hopeless.

Your coordination is abysmal.

Your spells lack power.

Your tactics are nonexistent.

Do you think you'll survive against second-years like this?"

The students gritted their teeth, some murmuring under their breaths.

Noah's gaze hardened.

"You think I'm being unfair?

That I'm too harsh?

Let me make one thing clear.

The second-years will not care about your feelings.

They will do whatever it takes to secure their flags, and they will exploit every weakness you have.

If you don't toughen up, you'll be crushed."

He paused, letting his words sink in.

"That said, I won't let this class be a laughingstock.

The second-years have one advantage over you.

Mana concealment.

They can hide their presence, making it nearly impossible for you to detect them."

He smirked.

"But I won't let them have that edge.

No class of mine will be taken advantage of by such a simple and stupid flaw.

Starting tomorrow, I'll teach you how to conceal your mana.

Consider it a gift.

Don't waste it.

Next week are the mid-terms. "

Noah turned, his coat swaying as he strode away.

But inwardly, his thoughts churned.

'Luckily, none of them had ill intentions....'

He began his thoughts.

'...If they had, the curse would've taken effect.'

'The purpose of this test wasn't just for them—it was for me, too.

To see how far the curse would go.

Using students for my own benefit? Shameful, I guess...

The system's familiar chime interrupted his thoughts.

[+50 False Evil Points]

A wry smile tugged at his lips.

"Of course..."
