The disappearance of the Siegfred Clan was an unsaid threat to the noble families wanting to usurp the throne from the royal family. They had become more low-key compared to before, and the second prince faction had completely disappeared.

The military still stood at the top authority; however, unlike the extreme and one-sided point of view of people on them, they no longer fully feared General Ye. Everyone had changed how they saw the demon general. After that press conference, everyone finally realized that despite being powerful, the general was also a family man.

A lot of them couldn't help but laugh when they realized that even the great demon lord was afraid of his wife. He even received a black eye, that powder could barely hide, and shouted like a bullied husband on live, asking for the people who caused his wife to get angry.

Now another rumor is spreading in the Federation. That the demon general is a henpecked husband at home. Now there is another mystery the people want to know.@@novelbin@@

Who is Madam Ye?

Unfortunately, no one in the military dares to say who it was. Even His Majesty Nokto had a tight lip as his palace was surrounded by reporters asking for the identity of General Ye's wife. Everyone is interested in knowing the identity of General Ye's wife, however, they don't dare to come to the General's mansion as the demon general is said to be overly possessive of his wife, and anyone who dares to ask him for his wife will be sent away with his sword.

The federation remained peaceful after the Siegfred Clan disappeared. After all, they cannot be considered a clan with real power but just parasites that wanted to suck the authority of the royal family, which they failed and disappeared forever.

Unknown to the military and the royal family, the Siegfred Clan isn't the real power that wanted to oppose them but a clan that is well-known for its neutral position and is said to support the ordinary masses instead. The richest clan in the federation, they possess more wealth compared to the military and the royal clan, the Shaka Clan.

The real power behind the Siegfred Clan had appeared. The father of Lieutenant Shaka and the current patriarch of the Shaka Clan, Shaka Lapis.

Patriarch Shaka spoke, "The Siegfred Clan failed and they were caught. Do you think the military will point things out to us?"

"Patriarch, that is not possible. There were no traces left behind at each transaction. It is just a pity that the Second Queen failed. She was so confident of taking the throne."

"There is no need to talk about a useless clan that no longer exists. We should implement another plan. After all, we got the results of their research about the little mermaids. This will solidify our standing as the only breeder of little mermaids."

"Why would I do that? We aren't harming his brethren and instead help them find the right family. As long as we don't directly take control, doing it in the shadows should be fine."

"It was rather unfortunate that the destroyed reputation of the general had been restored. We did our best to ruin it; now we have to do it again."

Patriarch Shaka said, "No need. For now, we need to know about the identity of the hidden wife General Ye has. He is hiding his wife's identity in fear that his partner will be targeted. He is his weakness. This is the first time that the monster shows his weakness. We should exploit it."

"Tell the whole clan that they must investigate the identity of Madam Ye. We must learn about it no matter what!"

As per the situation under the sea, the soul prison under the sea had finally erupted. The Sea King, the Mermaid Emperor, hurriedly swam towards the location where the soul prison is. He unexpectedly saw someone he couldn't believe would still exist.

"Do you know what you have done!?" questioned the Mermaid Emperor.

At the very least in his memories, this is a man who had died for a long time and should no longer exist. The one who had forcibly opened the soul prison is none other than An Shizhe, the world eater.

The World Eater looked at the Mermaid Emperor and thought for a moment that his beloved had come back to life. He appeared before him and hugged the Mermaid Emperor.

"Luan'er! Is it really you? You are alive!?" said the World Eater, An Shizhe.

The Mermaid Emperor, who was startled, immediately pushed the man away and looked at him like a stranger. A pair of cold eyes and disdain looked at the World Eater.

"You are a ghost that should no longer exist! How can you come back to life!?" said the Mermaid Emperor.

The world eater observed the mermaid emperor. The more he looked, the more he realized that there was something wrong with this man. His face turned cold and devoid of emotion as he realized that this man before him wasn't his Hunluan; he lost his temper and grabbed the neck of the Mermaid Emperor.

Choke!

"Who the hell are you? A fake? How dare you use the same face as my beloved!?" said the World Eater, An Shizhe.

The Mermaid Emperor is caught in a sudden predicament, yet he remains calm. He stares at the world eater with his face and eyes very similar to the Ancient God of Chaos, Hunluan. This is especially true for those purple-red irises that are filled with madness itself.

For some reason, the chaos within the obsidian eyes of An Shizhe slightly lessened. He stared at the mermaid Emperor and realized something.

An Shizhe said, "Your eyes... Are you Hunluan's soul fragments?"

"Unhand me!"

But before he gets his answer, the Mermaid Emperor shifts his weight and slams the man with his fishtail. For a mermaid, the most powerful part of their body is their tail. The World Eater restricted by the world was slammed to the cliff by this attack.

Cough. Cough.

The Mermaid King said, "Madman. You've released them before I destroyed this star. These damn things can only disappear when this world is destroyed. How can you free them!!"

Just as he finished talking, the soul prison completely broke, and at least a hundred of the fallen Ancient Gods' souls came out. These guys are worse than resentment ghosts, as they can materialize themselves.

"Hahaha~ finally! We got out!"

"How can that damn Chaos lock us in this lower realm!?"

"He let us be killed by his kid! Isn't that ridiculous?"

"He doesn't care about everything else except for that useless brat!"

"How else will that weakling kill us if he didn't weaken our abilities?"

"Shit! Thinking about it makes me mad! I want to kill them!"

The souls were about to go crazy to look for Hunluan's traces and take revenge but didn't even notice the evil presence behind them. A few of them were even grabbed when they turned around and saw An Shizhe, the world eater who was their greatest nightmare.

"Is that so?" an Shizhe said as he was covered with the power of gluttony and grabbed the head of the one evil ghost who spoke the most.

The fallen ancient gods looked at An Shizhe in disbelief. This is the man who killed them. The madman who absorbed their original powers. The crazy existence that should never have been born.

"Why are you still alive!?"

"Fuck! Run!"

The hundred souls dispersed in all directions except for the one who was in the hands of the World Eater.

"You fools! Save me first!"

The world eater chose not to stop any of them and even looked bored. He looked around as he crushed the one in his hands.

AGH~

"There is no use escaping. I plan to devour you all anyway," said the World Eater

ROAR~

He turned into a humongous black sea dragon and devoured all the souls he captured. There might be some who escaped to the land, but the World Eater didn't care much, as he could differentiate these souls from the others no matter how much they blended with the world. As long as he finds them, killing them on the spot is not a problem.

Watching the black sea dragon chase the fallen ancient gods' souls, the Mermaid Emperor didn't help nor chase after the World Eater.

"He is still as playful as before. Treating these souls as toys. He inherited this from him."

Hunluan's soul fragment, the Mermaid Emperor, watches the scene unfold without any intention to interfere and leaves after losing interest. He fades and disappears into the sea. As the God of the Sea, the whole ocean is his domain.

After all, there is someone who can do the job for him. There is no need for him to make a move. Even so, the destruction of the world cannot be halted. If the world eater fails to catch all those ancient souls, destroying the world will solve everything.
