Before her sister became the Queen of the Night, the King of the Night had held the organization’s highest seat.

“See? I told you he’d like you.”

“Congratulations, Thystina. You are now an Apostle of the Celestial God.”

The other Apostles gathered around her, their expressions bright with approval.

They were delighted that she had been acknowledged by him—that she had been chosen, just like them.

Did they truly worship that thing?

That wretched, revolting creature whose very presence invoked fear and nausea?

And yet, here they were, celebrating the fact that they had been accepted by such an abomination.
