Chapter 2: Starting from the mountain (1)
Baekryeongsan.
Also known as white spirit mountain.
A quiet mountain range in the northeastern outskirts of Seoul, near the edge of the city’s border with Gyeonggi Province.
Rumors say that if you entered the forest your soul will be spirited away, so no one passed through the forest without offering any tributes to the mountain spirit. But that was all setting made by the game.
The truth is that the mountain was a Grade B dungeon zone that the government sealed off 30 years ago.
"Usually, no sane person would go to that dangerous place. But, I have no other choice because that place has something I desperately need in order to survive in this game."
Goblin’s Cup.
An ancient ceremonial relic once used by the Goblin Kings of the Old World to anoint their heirs.
Crafted from sacred mugunghwa wood and reinforced with silver bands etched in forgotten runes, the cup appears ordinary—until awakened.
It’s said the goblins believed only those unbound by their own limits could rule them.
Kang Min-hyuk had stumbled across it by chance while hiking this mountain.
Now, trapped inside the game, he realized something.
The protagonist?
He was a walking disaster.
“Ehem! I know that I’m one of the people responsible for making his character, but it’s all part of the game. Haha.”
Definitely not an excuse to get his hands on some items for himself.
He put on his shoes, grabbed the key to his room, and put on his sweater. Then, without a second thought, he walked out.
After leaving the building, he made his way to the nearby subway station.
The train wasn’t crowded at this hour. He found an empty seat, and stared out the window.
“Three weeks until the academy arc starts. I need to get stronger before then if I want to survive at the Korean Hunter Academy.”
Lee Shinwoo was a second-year student, one year older than Kang Min-hyuk, and had just returned from summer break.
He was a special admit student, accepted because of his rare time magic affinity. But everything changed after that one incident. He became the talk of the academy—called the worst Awakener of all time.
His overall stats were E-rank. His combat ability was the worst, and his mana was even lower than that of a normal Awakener. He had no background, no connections, and was an easy target for lowlife scumbags. Life at the academy was hell for him.
Even if he wanted to drop out and run away from it all—
“Hah, I never expected that I possessed this character. But for some reason, I can’t hate this brat.”
Suho smirked and nodded helplessly.
Suho looked at the passing terrains and buildings. He was just working in the office before and now possesses this character who has no involvement in the main storyline.
It began with the sudden emergence of mana. Natural disasters followed immediately—earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, and super typhoons.
Then, the continents moved. The seven continents merged into one. A singular landmass replaced the old world map.
Despite the destruction, every nation survived. Their cities were protected by mysterious forces—like a shield that protected them from harm.
From that point on, people no longer called it Earth. It was now known as the Blue Planet.
The first cataclysm ended with humanity barely holding on.
But it was only the beginning.
The second cataclysm arrived when the barriers that had protected humanity began to weaken.
And then, they came.
Races from different worlds—Elves, Dwarves, Beastkin, Lizardmen, Demons, Fairies, and others—went into the Blue Planet.
Not every race was hostile.
Some wished to coexist with humanity, others remained indifferent, and a few, like the Demons, harbored malice and greed.
What do you think?
