Chapter 195 The Clash Begins
The audience exploded in excitement, their voices rising into a deafening roar. The arena shook beneath their cheers, banners waved wildly, and magical screens displayed every heart-pounding moment from multiple angles.
"Wingless Valkyries! Wingless Valkyries!"
The chant echoed like a war cry, a relentless rhythm that only fueled the intensity of the battle. Their fanbase was a force of its own, drowning out all other sounds with their unwavering support.
But despite the overwhelming cheers for Wingless Valkyries, Horizon and his team refused to be overshadowed.
They weren't here to be stepping stones.
They weren't here to lose.
And as the battle raged on, it became clear—this would not be a one-sided fight.
Nearby, Von raised his twin pistols, eyes locked on Dawnfire. He fired off a quick burst, bullets streaking toward the pyromancer.
Dawnfire smirked, raising a hand as flames coiled around her fingertips. With a flick of her wrist, she unleashed [Molten Rain], a storm of fiery embers cascading from above.
Von cursed under his breath, rolling aside just in time to avoid being roasted alive.
"You'll have to do better than that!" Dawnfire taunted, her eyes blazing with excitement.
Von licked his lips, a sly grin spreading across his face. "I usually don't like roughing up women, but it looks like I don't have the luxury of taking it easy this time."
Meanwhile, Frigid, the towering ice tank, advanced toward Velvet, his massive shield gleaming under the arena lights. Velvet darted forward with [Shadowstep], her form flickering as she attempted to slip past his defenses.
Frigid was prepared. Slamming his foot down, he activated [Glacial Bastion], sending an icy shockwave outward. Velvet gasped as frost crept up her legs, slowing her movements.
"Got you," Frigid rumbled, swinging his shield toward her.
At the last second, Velvet twisted, activating [Evasion Cloak]. Her body flickered, becoming translucent as she slipped through the ice's grasp. She reappeared behind Frigid, daggers glowing with venom as she struck.
The blade barely grazed his thick armor before he retaliated with a devastating backhand strike, sending her skidding across the battlefield.
Meanwhile, Aria faced off against Silphie, Horizon's priestess healer. Aria's voice rang out, weaving a spell through her [Song of Allure].
Silphie's eyes clouded over for a moment, her grip on her staff faltering.
"Sleep," Aria whispered.
Silphie stumbled, her knees buckling—only for a golden pulse of magic to burst from her staff. [Divine Clarity] snapped her back to reality, breaking Aria's hold. Discover exclusive tales on My Virtual Library Empire
"Nice try," Silphie murmured, a sleepy smile playing on her lips.
Before Aria could react, Lydia lunged at her from the shadows. Her dagger flashed toward Aria's back—
"Not on my watch," Fiora called out.@@novelbin@@
Green energy flared around her as she summoned her [Guardian Wolf]. The spectral beast materialized, its massive form lunging toward Lydia with bared fangs.
Lydia barely managed to twist away, but the wolf's claws raked across her arm, forcing her to retreat.
"I really hate druids," Lydia muttered, shaking off the pain.
Seraphina and Horizon continued their fierce duel, neither giving an inch. Every strike was countered, every opening immediately closed.
"You're stronger than before," Horizon noted, blocking a powerful downward slash.
Seraphina smirked. "And you're slower than I remember."
She feinted left before twisting, her [Blade of Light] glowing as she slashed across his chest. Horizon grunted, barely managing to step back, his armor sizzling where her attack had landed.
To the side, Von finally landed a hit on Dawnfire, a bullet grazing her shoulder. She winced but retaliated immediately, her hands igniting as she activated [Flame Nova].
The explosion sent Von flying backward. He rolled across the ground, coughing as smoke filled his lungs.
"Damn it," he muttered. "She's good."
Dawnfire grinned. "You bet I am."
On the other side of the battlefield, Frigid had managed to freeze part of Velvet's arm. She glared at him, struggling against the ice's grip.
"This is really annoying," she grumbled.
Frigid agreed. "Then just surrender."
"Not happening."
With a burst of energy, she activated [Venomous Strike], her dagger glowing green as she stabbed into the ice. The poison seeped through, causing cracks to form. With a final push, she shattered the ice and leaped back into the fray.
Meanwhile, Fiora and Aria continued their coordinated assault against Lydia and Silphie.
Aria's [Hymn of Harmony] sent waves of energy pulsing through the battlefield, disrupting Silphie's spells.
Fiora raised her staff, channeling [Nature's Grace]. Vines erupted from the ground, attempting to ensnare Lydia.
Lydia smirked. "Not today."
She vanished, reappearing behind Fiora. But before she could strike, the guardian wolf lunged at her again, forcing her back into the shadows.
"You druids are way too persistent," Lydia growled.
Fiora smiled. "That's the point."
The audience was on the edge of their seats, the battle still too close to call. Both teams had taken damage, but no one had fallen yet.
Seraphina and Horizon locked swords once more, their breathing heavy.
"No wonder that you're the leader," Horizon said.
Seraphina let out a short laugh, though her tone remained serious. "It's been a while since I've had a real challenge. If you don't take this seriously, you're the one who's going to die." Her sharp gaze flicked toward Horizon, noting that he had yet to summon his beasts.
Horizon smirked in response. "Then I suppose I shouldn't keep you waiting." With a wave of his hand, the ground trembled as a massive Dracolich emerged behind him, its hollow eyes burning with eerie blue flames.
The audience gasped, eyes widening in awe and disbelief. They had seen Horizon's Dracolich before—but only on screens, never in a live battle. Until now, he had refrained from summoning it in the arena, making this moment even more shocking.
Its sudden appearance was a clear testament to Seraphina's strength—a silent declaration that she was an opponent worthy of his full power.
A heavy silence fell over the crowd for a split second before a wave of murmurs and excited shouts erupted. Standing before them was no ordinary summoned beast. The Dracolich was a true dragon, an entity that exuded an overwhelming aura of death and destruction.
What do you think?
