Chapter 77 - 77 Who is it?

Chapter 77: Chapter 77 Who is it?

Seeing Zhi Qi’s suspicion, Fang Xiaocao blinked her eyes and quickly changed the subject, smiling and saying, “It’s getting late, let’s hurry up and rest.”

“Anything else, we can talk about tomorrow.”

Saying so, Fang Xiaocao patted Zhi Qi on the shoulder.

“Everyone go rest now.”

“I’ll take the night watch!”

Zhi Qi nodded and spoke.

“Better I take the night watch with Aquarius.”

Fang Xiaocao said with a smile.

Zhi Qi looked at Fang Xiaocao, who smiled and winked at Zhi Qi.

Zhi Qi was stunned for a moment and then nodded her head.

This was a secret code between the two at the orphanage.

It meant to listen to the other person.

The kind of trust without conditions!

Once one of them made this gesture.

The other had to comply and could not break the agreement.

Therefore, after a moment of hesitation, Zhi Qi still chose to listen to Fang Xiaocao.

Seeing that everyone had returned to their tents, Fang Xiaocao stretched and sat down next to the campfire.

“Aquarius, sit.”

Fang Xiaocao said to Aquarius.

Aquarius nodded and obediently sat next to the campfire.

“There should be twelve people in your group, right?”

Fang Xiaocao asked casually.

“Yes, Princess Your Highness.”

Aquarius nodded and answered.

“And the other six?”

Fang Xiaocao asked in a grave tone.

She had been wanting to ask this question for a while.

But she had waited until Yun Luoshu was out of the picture.

“The other six are up ahead.”

Aquarius opened his mouth to reply.

“The Scar-faced Monster is Gemini, who were the other two who died?”

Fang Xiaocao continued to ask.

“Sagittarius and Libra.”

Aquarius answered truthfully.

Hearing this, Fang Xiaocao nodded her head.

“So, the codes for the other six are the remaining six of the Twelve Zodiac Signs, right?”

Fang Xiaocao added a bunch of wood to the fire.

“Yes!”

Aquarius nodded in response.

“Who among them is in charge of operations?”

Fang Xiaocao continued.

“Capricorn!”

Aquarius looked at the campfire and replied.

“Tell me about Capricorn!”

Fang Xiaocao stated.

Knowing the enemy and knowing yourself, you will not be defeated in a hundred battles.

With the Gemini Scar-faced Monster dead, their biggest enemy was now Capricorn.

Fang Xiaocao needed to understand this person in advance.

“Capricorn is an extremely dangerous woman.”

“Her level of danger is second only to Gemini, the Star Lord.”

“Even within the entire Blacklist, her level of danger is noteworthy.”

Saying this, Aquarius shivered as if reminded of something terrifying.

Fang Xiaocao was taken aback; just now she had felt Aquarius’s spiritual power violently fluctuating.

It was so close to breaking free of her control.

Fang Xiaocao’s eyebrows furrowed, pondering Capricorn herself.

According to the introduction of the Twelve Zodiac Signs, Capricorn is described as: obstinate, self-isolated, and indifferent.

Perhaps, this could be used as a reference.

In her heart, Fang Xiaocao began to profile Capricorn mentally.

A woman who is extremely stubborn, self-isolating, and deeply repressed by her loneliness.

“This one is tough to deal with!”

Fang Xiaocao murmured to herself.

If her psychological profile wasn’t wrong, then this Capricorn woman would be a tough nut to crack when it came to hypnosis.

Fang Xiaocao felt that hypnotizing Capricorn was no less difficult than hypnotizing Gemini.

Sensing the fear emanating from Aquarius, Fang Xiaocao smiled and said, “My knight, do not fear, the princess shall be with you.”

Now, controlling only one hypnotist like Aquarius, Fang Xiaocao felt unprecedented ease and proceeded to hypnotize Aquarius a second time to reinforce her hypnotic imprint.

A person can indeed be hypnotized multiple times.

However, the more layers of hypnosis there are, the greater the impact on the subject’s mental and psychological state.

Even the mental imprint from the overlaid hypnosis might turn the subject into an idiot if it’s too much.

Yet, when dealing with a villain like Aquarius, Fang Xiaocao had no pressure in performing the action. Even if he turned into an idiot, she wouldn’t feel too guilty.

“At your command, Princess Your Highness!”

The fear within Aquarius was swept away as he respectfully knelt on one knee to Fang Xiaocao.

“Rise, my knight.”

Fang Xiaocao said with a smile.

“Thank you, Princess Your Highness!”

Aquarius thanked Fang Xiaocao and stood up.

To avoid Aquarius’s emotions being affected by the seed of fear left by Capricorn again, Fang Xiaocao gave up on further inquiry. She sat cross-legged in front of the campfire, closed her eyes to recuperate, and used meditation to recover the spiritual power spent on hypnosis.

Seeing this, Aquarius also closed his eyes and pretended to rest.

The intense battle and injuries had drained a lot of Aquarius’s physical strength. For someone like him, who always skirted in the darkness, living a life interwoven with iron and blood, it was almost instinct to seize the moment to rest and recover as soon as he had the chance.

Time ticked by, and the camp fell into an eerie silence, with only the occasional crackling “pop” from the burning logs in the campfire.

Suddenly, Aquarius’s eyes snapped open, and he cocked his head to listen.

The next second, he sprang from the ground, rapidly drew his crude pistol from his waist, rubbed it against the sole of his shoe to cock it with one hand.

“Who’s there!”

Pointing the muzzle into the woods, Aquarius shouted.

At Aquarius’s yell, Fang Xiaocao, who had entered light sleep during her meditation, instantly woke up, grabbed a burning log, and threw it in the direction Aquarius was pointing his gun, while she pulled out her own pistol from her pocket.

“What’s going on?”

She cocked the crude pistol, disengaged the safety, and asked.

“There’s someone!”

Aquarius, with a determined gaze, answered gravely.

“Where is the person?”

“How many people are there?”

Fang Xiaocao raised her gun in that direction and asked in a firm voice.

“They’re hiding right there in the woods ahead!”

“I don’t know how many there are.”

As he responded, Aquarius slowly moved his feet, stepped out of the campfire’s light, and blended into the darkness.

Seeing Aquarius’s action, Fang Xiaocao followed suit, heading towards the shadow by the tent.

“Come out or I’ll shoot!”

Aquarius shouted loudly.

Fang Xiaocao, hiding in the tent’s shadow, watched the woods ahead but couldn’t see any figures.

After pondering for a moment, Fang Xiaocao gestured to Aquarius, indicating for him to circle around.

Aquarius nodded, slowly backed away, and moved toward the woods behind him.

“Xiaocao, what’s happening?”

Aquarius’s shout woke up Zhi Qi and the others who were sleeping in the tent.

“Don’t come out, someone is sneaking up here.”

Seeing someone about to come out of the tent, Fang Xiaocao said in a low voice to stop them.

Hearing Fang Xiaocao’s words, the individuals inside the tent halted their movements.

“Wan Xiaozhou, come out and help, everyone else hide.”

Fang Xiaocao said softly.

“Rustle!”

The tent flap was lifted, and a nimble figure darted out of the tent, rolled tactically, and hid in the shadows.

Fang Xiaocao looked over to see it was Wan Xiaozhou.

“Where’s the person?”

Wan Xiaozhou asked in a low voice.

Fang Xiaocao pointed in the direction Aquarius had signaled as a warning.

Wan Xiaozhou’s gaze sharpened, glanced in that direction, drew the dagger he carried, and with a tactical roll, disappeared into the woods beside him.

Then, Fang Xiaocao heard hurried footsteps.

They grew distant quickly and soon faded away.
