Chapter 184: Book Of Fate
"They destroyed a Heavenly World completely this quickly?" He did not expect such a thing. Destroying a Heavenly World was no simple matter.
The Heavenly Dao would not allow such an event to happen. According to his estimations, the Forbidden Lands could, at most, conquer that Heavenly World.
But destroying and devouring its origin? Such a thing was completely impossible. Besides, he had not even sensed it happening.
If a Heavenly World were to be destroyed, all of the Lower Verse would automatically become aware of it. After all, the Heavenly Dao would certainly mourn the death of that world.
"Which world are they heading toward?" He sat back down on his chair. This was no longer an issue he could ignore.
"The Sacred Origin Heavenly World."
Emperor Wei frowned. This Heavenly World was not powerful, but it was not weak either. The Heavenly Court could not allow it to be destroyed.
He had to convene a meeting with the leaders of all the superior Heavenly Worlds as soon as possible to discuss this matter. Find your next read at NovelBin.Côm
"My Lord, there is also the matter of the Tian Family. Over the past few days, their secret organizations and their allies have started attacking our interests, causing significant losses," the First Shadow reported the more pressing news.
"Damn it, I had forgotten about them." He truly felt a headache forming. He had not expected so many problems to arise at once. @@novelbin@@
"We cannot leave the Tian Family unchecked. Their issue was an order from the Ancestors. The Ancestors have decided that we must take control of the entire Lower Verse."
"The Tian Family, their current allies, and especially those ancient Protos are the greatest obstacles in our path," Emperor Wei briefly explained to his advisor, hoping the latter could offer some ideas.
The hall fell silent. The advisor did not immediately respond. Instead, he activated his Dao.
Suddenly, the light of wisdom and knowledge began radiating from his body.
Seeing this, Emperor Wei and the First Shadow felt their minds becoming clearer and more lucid.
"Your Majesty, a sanction on the Tian Family and their allies will not be effective. We are well aware of the power and resources they possess."
"Sanctions will not harm their foundation. If you want to destroy them, along with those ancient Protos, the only way is to use the greatest trump card of the Immortal Court."
"Eliminate them all in one strike. The entire Lower Verse will be thrown into shock, and it will be the perfect time to extend our influence and take control of all the Heavenly Worlds," the advisor explained his idea.
The Emperor said nothing and looked upward—more precisely, toward an isolated space within a remote and desolate star, where the most powerful weapon of the Heavenly Court was kept.
Should he really use that weapon? Perhaps it was the best option.
To counter and destroy the Forbidden Lands, the entire Lower Verse needed to be unified. And to achieve that, the Tian Family and their allies had to be annihilated.
Meanwhile, in the deepest part of the Immortal Academy, in a forbidden and taboo region where no being in the entire Lower Verse dared to step foot, two figures sat drinking tea.
"Haha, Young Lord, I did not expect such a spectacle," the Grand Elder chuckled and then glanced at the handsome young man sitting beside him.
"Is this why you wanted to see me?" Tian Shen took a sip of his tea and then gazed indifferently at the sky.
More precisely, he was watching the Immortal Court and all the events unfolding there.
"Well, Young Lord, I wanted to have a conversation with you about the Forbidden Lands," the Grand Elder stroked his beard, and then the atmosphere around him turned completely serious.
"I’m listening." Tian Shen could already guess what this old man wanted to say. It was not too surprising.
"The Forbidden Lands have managed to destroy a Heavenly World—a feat that has not occurred in an extremely long time."
"And yet, the Heavenly Dao has shown no reaction. This can only mean one thing, Young Lord." He paused for a moment and looked toward the sky. His eyes penetrated countless layers of space-time and landed upon the Forbidden Lands.
However, he suddenly realized that a pair of terrifying eyes had noticed him, and he quickly withdrew his divine sense.
"That damned old man—the leader of the Forbidden Lands—has obtained the Book of Fate," his tone was calm, but Tian Shen could sense a hint of fear in it.
Of course, he had the right to be afraid. The Book of Fate was no ordinary artifact; it possessed the power to control the fate of the entire Lower Verse.
In fact, the Forbidden Lands had used it to completely annihilate a Heavenly World without anyone realizing it. They had simply altered the fate of that entire Heavenly World.
Unfortunately, by changing the fate of that world, even the Heavenly Dao could not interfere to save it. After all, it was beyond its domain of control.
"Do you want my help?" He took another sip of his tea and turned his attention to the Grand Elder.
"Young Lord, if that old man truly has obtained the Book of Fate, then even I cannot save this Lower Verse. All living beings are doomed to perish," the Grand Elder sighed.
"I just wanted to know—do you think there is any hope for salvation here?" He was not foolish enough to think he could force Tian Shen to save the Lower Verse.
After all, in this man’s eyes, all of this might just seem like a ridiculous game played by insignificant insects. However, at the very least, he wanted to hear his opinion.
Tian Shen did not immediately respond. Instead, he stood up and, for the last time, cast a glance at the Immortal Court.
"This place will remain, but the current order will be destroyed." After that, as if he had never been there, he disappeared.
"Hahaha, good." Several drops of tears fell from his old eyes. He somewhat understood Tian Shen’s words, but those unfortunate forces that were about to be destroyed could only blame themselves.
What do you think?
