Chapter 48: The Kind-Hearted Firefighter
Chapter 48: Chapter 48: The Kind-Hearted Firefighter
He wasn’t afraid of Mu Rufeng at all. If he ever met an enemy he couldn’t handle, he could call the train conductor for help.
On the Bloody Train, the train conductor was the king, an invincible existence.
The service staff couldn’t be sure whether Mu Rufeng had a contracted ghost or not.
But being able to knock him away, he must be a Contractor with a contracted ghost.
“Do the staff on this train always treat their passengers this way?”
“All I wanted was to go to the dining car to eat, and you attacked me without any provocation.”
“Call your superior over. I want to see just how dark the service is on this train.”
Mu Rufeng took out his meal card with an expression of outrage on his face.
The moment the meal card appeared, the service staff’s face instantly changed.
If Mu Rufeng had come to their carriage on his own, then no matter how the service staff dealt with him, there wouldn’t have been any problem.
But now that the meal card had appeared, the situation was different.
If they really called the train conductor over, he’d probably be stuffed directly into the furnace as fuel for the train, right?
“This… Sir, I apologize, I apologize, it was rude of me, please forgive me.” The service staff’s demeanor changed in an instant, hastily stepping forward to apologize.
“It’s the same deal, one slap, one hundred yuan,” Mu Rufeng said indifferently.
“No problem, sir. Would you prefer to hit the left side, or the right?”
“The left side, I’m nostalgic like that.”
“Very well, sir, go ahead.” The service staff tilted his head, presenting his left side to Mu Rufeng.
Mu Rufeng immediately took the stack of bills and forcefully slapped them across the service staff’s face.
The massive force sent the service staff flying to the left.
However, the next second, a bandage shot out, pulling the service staff back into place.
Not stopping there, it swept around and firmly secured the service staff in the middle of the aisle.
“Slap! Slap, slap!”
“Slap, slap, slap—slap!”
“Sorry, hit you a few times too many, but don’t worry, you won’t be shortchanged.”
Mu Rufeng pulled out a dozen or so bills and casually threw them on the ground before striding towards carriage four.
When he passed by Shen Yu and Xue Fan, he paused and said, “You two stay here and be at ease, nothing will happen.”
After speaking, Mu Rufeng didn’t wait for a response and immediately vanished at the connection between carriages.
Shen Yu and Xue Fan looked at each other, clueless. A million whys echoed in their minds.
Because of Mu Rufeng’s departure, the bandage also left.
The service staff managed to escape as well, but his entire left cheek was now battered beyond recognition, bones shattered.
His whole head must have spun countless times.
Ultimately it was lucky that Mu Rufeng’s last hit managed to realign the service staff’s head.
The moment Mu Rufeng made his move, the passengers in the carriage, both new players and Abnormalities, didn’t even dare breathe.
Even after Mu Rufeng left, the Abnormalities only dared to whisper among themselves.
The dominance with which Mu Rufeng had used bills to hit someone was too much.
Not only was it a show of power, but it was also strong; using soul coins, he managed to bruise the service staff’s face. @@novelbin@@
If he used his fists, or perhaps that kitchen knife strapped to his waist, wouldn’t they all be dead in a matter of seconds?
The service crew swiftly picked up their own head and collected the scattered soul coins from the floor.
“Ladies and gentlemen, does anyone else require a meal? If not, I will start clearing away the food.”
The service crew, as if nothing abnormal had occurred, returned to their cart and asked the passengers.
…
Carriage four.
Upon entering, Mu Rufeng immediately felt the extreme cold inside the carriage.
In the other carriages, the temperature was roughly seventeen or eighteen degrees—a bit chilly, but still bearable.
Here, however, it was so cold that water would freeze instantly.
Even though Mu Rufeng’s Constitution had increased tenfold, he still felt the intense chill.
A cold draft suddenly wafted through, causing Mu Rufeng to shiver uncontrollably.
Many of the new players were here, five in total, each of them shivering from the cold, completely huddled in their seats.
It seemed this was the only way to resist the severe cold.
Apart from the new players, even the spectral entities were shivering from being frozen.
The carriage 4 service crew was sitting in the first row of empty seats.
Seeing Mu Rufeng approach, they paid him no mind, for they were too cold to want to move.
“Hey, why is the air conditioning set so low in here?” Mu Rufeng asked, looking at the frosty air blowing from the vents above the train.
He couldn’t not ask—while the spectral entities might endure it, those five new players probably wouldn’t last much longer.
Mu Rufeng might have ignored it if he hadn’t seen it, but seeing it and having the ability, he naturally didn’t mind lending a hand.
“Scram, rat, this has nothing to do with you. Leave now, or I won’t mind eating you to warm my body up,” the service crew said.
Mu Rufeng ignored the service crew member, his attention drawn to a strange passenger.
It was a spectral entity, charred all over.
Dark smoke rose from its body, and through its scorched skin, Mu Rufeng could vaguely see flickering flames.
The Burnt Ghost seemed to notice Mu Rufeng’s gaze.
He looked up at Mu Rufeng and spoke slowly, “Sorry, I was just too hot, so I asked the service crew to turn the air conditioning down a little.”
“If they can’t stand it, they can swap seats, come closer to me.”
Mu Rufeng didn’t speak, just stared intently at the Burnt Ghost.
Suddenly, Mu Rufeng said, “Are you a Firefighter? The thing covering your head, is it a melted firefighter’s helmet?”
The Burnt Ghost was slightly startled by this and then slowly nodded his head.
“Swapping seats costs fifty soul coins each time, which isn’t much for me, but I’m sorry, I’m a bit strapped for cash lately.”
“I’m injured, and if I don’t use the air conditioning to keep it in check, I’ll lose my mind,” the Burnt Ghost added.
“No worries, I’ll cover the cost. Service crew, come over here,”
Mu Rufeng called out.
The service crew member paid no attention at first, but then the Burnt Ghost released a bit of ghost qi,
and the service crew member came over reluctantly.
Mu Rufeng nodded at the new players and then swapped all of their seats to the ones surrounding the Burnt Ghost.
The five players were so cold they couldn’t move at all; it was Mu Rufeng who carried them one by one to their new seats.
Really, if Mu Rufeng had arrived just a few minutes later, those five players might have frozen to death.
“You’ve solved a headache for me. You should be able to return at the next station, right? As long as you stay here, I can ensure you return safely,” the Burnt Ghost said.
What do you think?
