I Started To Gain Sentience In An Eroge

Chapter 126: [Adora] A new alliance

Chapter 126: [Adora] A new alliance

"When did you spawn into the world?" Under the yellow street light of this empty street, the cheeky, tiny girl questioned, still holding on tight to the knife as though prepared for battle at one moment's notice. Its metallic sheen surface reflected golden rays onto the street, creating a triangular patch of light that illuminated the dark road.

Next to her, Kurokawa's mother did not bother saying anything. Her eyes were dull and without focus. Since our encounter, that gorgeous woman had been a clam with An by her side, hugging herself with both arms and trying to avoid confrontation as if life got sucked out of her vessel. I guessed A's bratty sister must have thought that her current appearance was intimidating and detrimental by doing what she did. Personally, such savage thinking was worthy of a simpleton. That girl was nothing but an orange kitten hissing in that current state.

"For me, it was quite soon. I don't quite remember the exact time, but it was probably around last night. Kinda weird, but I was standing in the hallway leading to C's classroom." She explained with a convoluted face as if remembrance was something mentally demanding.

"We just did around lunchtime." The image of where I was hours ago came vividly into my mind. Unlike An, who possessed probably a goldfish memory, what I was and where I was were still fresh. "And we were around the same area, I think?"

Vivian energetically chimed in: "That is correct, Your Highness. To be more accurate, we were between the classroom and the rooftop." Her enormous mounds bounced up and down with tiny movements.

"Hmph! What a show-off!" I whispered.

At the school, the two of us were similar to the shadow people who roamed every corner of this world, which made it drastically easier to blend in with the environment. Our appearances, which improved or returned to their original state, were akin to those soulless characters.

"Were you two... like... shadowy, too?" After a quick nod, A's sister resumed. Strong and chilly nightly breezes could barely hide the curiosity in her words.

Of course, An's impulsiveness could be my advantage if utilized correctly. It was not like I had not done that before.

"Yes. We were merely shadows without any form whatsoever." I answered, eagerly waiting for new information from An.

Interestingly, while double-checking my look in the women's restroom, I found a decapitated body inside a shower room. To whom I immediately thought of Rachel and An. Only those two could have performed such a vile act at the school and disregarded everything. As always, they lacked a sense of pride and dignity and only indulged in their present feelings. Even if an execution was about to commence, one must remember their finesse and elegance. Personally, a grander stage for that act was compulsory since public execution without the word 'public' was no fun.

Cutting someone open was an art. These girls did not get that.

At that point, everything became exciting. Not only the location but even the circumstances were similar.

Nevertheless, putting aside their previous escapade, it felt like too much of a coincidence for An, Vivian, and me to appear in a similar place under a similar initial appearance. A's sister was supposed to appear on Han's trip to his house, fake-bumping into him to create a lucky pervert scene for herself. In contrast, our first encounter would be in the local mall, getting into some mindless misunderstanding. There was a clear difference in spawning time for us compared to when we could be by his side. Even more so, I had never heard about characters spawning in as black shadows coming from C, whose experience of this world was immense.

It felt as though something, or someone, was directly intervening in the flow of this story.

"I see." Upon hearing my answer, rather than continuing the conversation, the twin-tailed girl nodded disinterestedly and walked ahead. "Let's go, Kumo. There's nothing for us to gain anymore."

By her side, Kurokawa's mother was dragging her feet to follow, looking hollow as if she had abandoned all hope. Rather than being a person, she was only a husk of what she used to be. The light had gone from her eyes completely. Still, I did not pay too much attention to her. It was the shock An made me feel that kept me stunned.

"Anyway. I'll be going home. See ya in the morning! It's way past my bedtime, and a girl as cute as I need her beauty sleep. You two can stay awake and become less pretty, so An'll have more of C's time for herself!"

"...Is she serious? Asking some questions and then just walking away half-heartedly?" Flabbergasted, I turned my face toward Vivian, whose face clearly withheld a burst of laughter while one hand was covering her mouth. Her pale pink lips were quivering at the corners, lifting themselves up and down at consistent intervals. To add to the insult, I could notice one eye off hers twitched madly.

An ordinary maid would have looked elsewhere to stop themself from embarrassing their master. Not Vivian. She looked straight at me.

"Much info. Head hurts. No want thinking. An out." From a distance, a bratty girl called back to me. Her tiny figure slowly got consumed by the darkness.

"Pfft! Ha!"

Hey! That was a laughter just now! You did not even hide it!

"Sorry. Please pardon my chuckle. It was just too difficult to hold back."

Oh, sure as bloody hell you did not hold back!

"However, Your Highness, what are you expecting from her exactly? She doesn't play by the rules. An is, well, An. Dare I say she doesn't know the rules if dangled in front of her face."

"That... I mean, well..."

Stammering with words, I knew what Vivian said was more than accurate. Some people think within a box, while some exceptional few think outside it. An was neither of those. She was the type to look at the box, wonder why it was box-shaped, and throw it away.

It was true that I had expected a lot from her and made a tiny blunder, but not everyone was perfect, right? Making a mistake every now and then was normal, right? Then why was she still smirking like that?!

And was it me, or was my face getting hotter?

"Ha! Ahem! It's all right, Your Highness. It is perfectly okay if you feel embarrassed. Although I don't feel the same way you do, as I am a flawless maid and never make mistakes, I understand." Vivian then had the guts to consolidate me in a way that drove me further down the line.

Catching her misstep, I immediately retaliated: "I feel ashamed. By your logic, does that mean you are shameless?"

"Oh, my! Oh, my dear Princess Adora!" Vivian shook her head from left to right. Similarly, the maid's top swayed accordingly. And with a compassionate voice, she exclaimed: "A perfect maid needs no shame. I thought you would get this by now after everything we experienced? Together, no less? Don't you remember our previous three..."@@novelbin@@

"I remember! I do remember! For goodness sakes, please!" I cried out loud, cutting the lecherous maid mid-sentence, desperately wanting to cover my ears. Despite the cold, my face was heating up like a boiling kettle. And Vivian, in all of her seriousness, was amused by that.

"Of course, as perfect as I am, I will still obey everything you tell me, your undisputed privilege as my master. Even when you demand me to strip naked in the middle of the streets, I will still comply with your command. That is my duty as perfection reincarnate." Vivian placed both of her hands on top of her chest, looking all sacred and pure.

"Then strip." There it was, a chance for me to get even!

"I don't want to. It's cold."

Hah! I got you now, you little rascal!

Leering at Vivian's calm face, there were no signs of being forced into a corner, but I was about to break it down: "I guess your loyalty is debatable after all."

Not to my surprise, the maid scoffed. At her master's face, no less: "Well, my loyalty may be a subject of discussion, but it is nowhere as heartless as the master telling her familiar to strip in the middle of the streets while it's cold. I am deeply hurt. So much so that I'm thinking about having a vacation!"

"W-why you little...!"
