Chapter 156

In the solemn and sacred church of a small African nation called Yasil, devout people gathered. A young, tall man clad in a blue and white cape knelt before the priest, a 'z' emblazoned on his chest. With hands clasped, he prayed earnestly. As he rose, his face bore the angelic determination of a deity descending to save humanity.

"Father, I am ready to depart."

The old priest, his hair white and body thin, smiled kindly and encouraged with squinted eyes.

"Go, Jarrod, and see this once faith-rejecting nation. Through your efforts, people now have the freedom to choose their faith, basking in the Lord's glory."

"You are the best proof of the Lord's existence!"

"Now, several countries in the Middle East are engulfed in war, beyond the Justice League's salvation. They await your rescue, for you are mightier than any on this earth. You represent the Lord, and like your name 'Redemption,' you will bring His salvation wherever you go, spreading His gospel far and wide."

"I will, Father!"

The young man with brown hair nodded seriously, his cape billowing as he walked past the praying congregation. He soared into the sky, tearing through the atmosphere, a streak of light rushing towards the Middle East.

...

"The Justice League's forbidden zone? Even if I'm not a regular member, does that include me?"

Black Adam turned sharply towards the sky.

Thunderclouds gathered, and a purple figure surrounded by lightning broke through the clouds like a meteor, imposing and overwhelming.

"The Transcender?"

Recognizing David by the purple glow and the words he had just heard, Black Adam's face was impassive. He flew up, intent on forcefully bringing down David, the beacon of hope for victory, to show that even the strongest among them was no match for him.

"But do you think he can change anything?"

Lying at the bottom of a crater, Clark opened his swollen eyes in astonishment at David, who arrived with thunder. When did David gain the power to control lightning? But it wasn't the first time David had displayed new abilities!

The people of the capital city of Kahndaq looked up to the sky, where it seemed giants were battling near the ancient palace, shaking the entire city. Now, lightning streaked across the sky.

"It's the Justice League! They've come to our nation!"

"The Transcender? Is he here to confront Hero Adam?"

People in the streets looked up, buzzing with speculation.

"Hero Adam? Is he truly the hero who freed slaves from a tyrant a thousand years ago? Why would he wage war!"

After Black Adam took control of Kahndaq, rumors spread that he was the same Hero Adam who had liberated the people from the tyrant Akton a millennium ago—the very figure the colossal statue in the capital was modeled after. People hoped this god-chosen legend would bring happiness and stability to Kahndaq.
