I Took A Succubus's First Time

Chapter 153 153: Right Choice

"I know," Yuuna said, her voice calm yet laced with an undeniable certainty, as if she had already foreseen Kyouka's response. Her lips curled into a small, knowing smile. "But I still believe it will make a difference."

Kyouka narrowed her eyes. A cold breeze swept through the room, rustling the curtains slightly, as if the very air had been stirred by Yuuna's conviction.

"And why do you think so?"

There was something unshakable in Yuuna's expression. It wasn't arrogance or blind optimism—it was the kind of belief that came from understanding something deeper, something others hadn't yet grasped. It unsettled Kyouka in a way she couldn't quite put into words.

"Is it because you have Okumura-kun with you?" Kyouka pressed, watching Yuuna carefully. "But you yourself admitted that even with him on your side, your chances against your brother are still slim."

Yuuna's crimson eyes gleamed under the dim light. "Yes, Kouhei-kun is a game-changer, that much is true." She took a slow step forward, her presence commanding despite her relaxed demeanor. "But with you as well, we could shift the tides of the game far beyond what it was ever meant to be."

Kyouka's expression hardened. "You're not suggesting that I form a bond with Okumura-kun, are you?"

Yuuna chuckled, a low, almost amused sound. "I'm merely offering an opportunity."

Her voice carried a weight that settled deep in Kyouka's chest.

Yuuna's gaze darkened slightly. "Years from now, the final war between Heaven and Hell will come. And when that day arrives, we will be outmatched—outnumbered to a degree we cannot even begin to counter. It will not be a battle. It will be a massacre."

A shadow passed over her face, her expression momentarily grim.

"Hell might not last another century… No, perhaps only decades. The Heavens have always been beyond our reach, and as things stand now, we cannot challenge them. Our only chance at survival—our only way to turn the tides—lies with Kouhei."

The words hit like a hammer.

A heavy silence followed, pressing against Kyouka's shoulders like an unseen weight.

"We cannot afford to lose him."

And now, that possibility loomed closer than ever.

The Demon Hunter Association had already taken notice of him. It was only a matter of time before the angels did, if they hadn't already. A fallen angel was already moving in the shadows, toying with them, testing their limits. And to make matters worse, Souichiro had openly declared a Faction War against her.

The entire situation was spiraling into something far beyond Yuuna's control.

She exhaled slowly, measuredly, as if steadying herself. "That is why I cannot simply hide Kouhei-kun away. The demons need him."

For the first time, her voice wavered ever so slightly.

"But at the same time, I cannot trust anyone."

Her fingers curled into fists at her sides.

"Kouhei-kun is too valuable. I cannot afford to lose him. And I refuse to let just anyone have him." A flicker of raw emotion surfaced in her eyes—fear, desperation, something fragile yet unyielding. "I am afraid, Kyouka. I am afraid that someone will take him from me. That I will lose him before I even have the chance to hold on to what I've finally found."

Her lips trembled slightly before she tightened them into a firm line.

"For the first time in my life, I have fallen in love. I have formed a connection deeper than anything I have ever known."

She let out a slow, steady breath. "And I cannot—no, I will not—lose it all because of reckless decisions."

A sharp gust of wind rattled the windows, echoing the turmoil within her.

"But at the same time, the demon race cannot survive without him."

Yuuna lifted her head, her gaze piercing. "If no one else receives the power Kouhei-kun offers, then I will have doomed our entire kind with my selfishness."

Her words sent a shiver down Kyouka's spine.

Then, Yuuna took a step closer.

"That is why I want you to share in the blessing Kouhei is giving us, Kyouka."

Kyouka felt her heartbeat quicken. She had never—never—seen Yuuna like this before.

Not cold.

Not calculating.

Not distant.

But real. Raw. Terrified.

This wasn't just strategy.

This wasn't just a plan.

This was her heart.

Kyouka swallowed hard. "So, you're trying to push me closer to Okumura-kun so that I, too, may gain power from him?"

Yuuna let out a soft chuckle, but this time, there was no amusement in it. "When you phrase it like that, it does sound manipulative."

Her smile was small—almost sad, yet unwavering. "But I'm telling you this from the bottom of my heart, Kyouka. I've realized that I can't hold back anymore."

Her eyes burned with something fierce.

"And it seems… Kouhei-kun won't be holding back either."

Kyouka's gaze lingered on Yuuna, unreadable yet intense. The weight of the situation pressed down on her, a suffocating force that left her teetering on the edge of indecision. This wasn't a simple matter of right or wrong—there were no easy choices. No matter what path she took, there would be consequences.

A war with the Souichiro Faction was the last thing she wanted. The thought of turning against them, of throwing herself into the chaos, left a bitter taste in her mouth.

But doing nothing?

That was no better.

She was a demon. She had witnessed the rivers of blood that painted their history. She understood, better than most, that inaction was just another way to invite destruction.

Letting out a slow, heavy breath, Kyouka lifted a hand to her forehead, fingers pressing against her temple. Her brows furrowed, deepening the crease between them, the weight of her contemplation evident in the subtle tension in her posture. "I honestly don't know," she admitted, voice quiet yet thick with frustration. "No matter which choice I make, it feels like I'm just walking toward my own doom."

For a moment, she simply stood there, gaze unfocused, thoughts colliding violently within her mind. Then, as if finding clarity amidst the storm, she slowly lifted her head, eyes locking onto Yuuna's.

And in that moment, she saw it.

Sincerity.

Raw, unfiltered emotion.

Yuuna had stripped away the walls she so carefully built around herself, speaking with an honesty Kyouka had never seen before. There was no calculation in her words, no manipulation—just the desperate, unshakable truth.

"This is the first time I've ever heard you speak so sincerely," Kyouka murmured, her expression softening just slightly. A small, humorless smile flickered at the corner of her lips. "I suppose that means I don't have much of a choice, then. I'll help you against your brother."

A sharp inhale.

Yuuna's heart clenched—no, it sang—a sensation so foreign, so exhilarating, that she could hardly believe it was hers to feel.

She had always been composed, controlled, calculating. Yet here she was, trembling from a feeling she couldn't quite name.

This moment, this alliance…

It was because of him.

Because Kouhei had changed her, she had been able to reach Kyouka. And because of him, Kyouka had agreed.

Because of him, she was no longer alone.
