I Was Caught up in a Hero Summoning, but That World Is at Peace

Chapter 2176: A Nostalgic MMO ⑨

Aoi-chan and I, having significantly powered up after obtaining powerful accessories, decided to take on a high-difficulty dungeon since we had the opportunity.

That said, many of the high-difficulty dungeons in this online game have entry restrictions, such as requiring "Tier-4 Class or higher", and since I'm only at a Tier-3 Class, I'm limited to dungeons I can actually enter. So, it's not quite the highest difficulty level in the game.

Besides, those kinds of ultra-high-difficulty dungeons require carefully tailored resistances to match the dungeon, and since I just returned from gaming and don't have the necessary sub-equipment or resistance gear, I wouldn't be able to go there anyway.

[……There weren't even Tier-3 Classes back when I was playing, so I obviously don't know, but this dungeon is pretty tough, right?]

[Yes, before Tier-4 Classes were introduced, this was the dungeon with the highest difficulty. Even a Tier-4 party can get wiped out easily if they're not properly equipped. I did think it might be too hard for just the two of us, but in terms of resistances, this dungeon seemed like a good choice….. It doesn't use special status effects or hard-to-counter poison and Holy-type Magic, so your equipment should be fine here.]

[I see. Well, obviously, even dungeons that Tier-3 Classes can enter still require specialized equipment builds. But if the difficulty is high despite the resistance requirements being lax…… that means the enemies are just really strong huh.]

[Yes, the monsters have extremely high stats, and even the frontline will take massive damage in a single hit if their equipment is lacking. But most of them are just high-damage monsters without complicated mechanics, so considering your Class, gear, and that accessory we just got, I think we have a good shot at this.]

On a side note, my current equipment is defense-oriented. Not because of the Heavenly God's Accessory I acquired, but because I had already chosen my gear based on Aoi-chan’s advice earlier.

Since Aoi-chan, a Tier-4 rearguard, has overwhelming firepower, I figured it would be best for me to take on more of a tank role. Plus, my Tier-3 Class leans toward defense-oriented skills.

[Well, let's give it a try, and if it seems too tough, we can find another dungeon.]

[Got it. Let's do our best.]

After briefly discussing our strategy, Aoi-chan and I challenged the high-difficulty dungeon.

About 30 minutes had passed since we started challenging the high-difficulty dungeon, and my impression was…… we were holding up better than expected.

As Aoi-chan had said, the enemies' attack power was quite high. Even with my defense-focused equipment and skill setup, I still took a considerable amount of damage…… but honestly, my recovery rate could easily keep up.

Or rather, the Heavenly God's Accessory was just too strong. The 30% damage reduction for both physical and magical attacks was already powerful, but more than that, the 5% chance to completely negate damage…… this effect was triggering far more often than I expected.

There were a few moments when a large number of monsters spawned at once, putting us in danger, but thanks to this effect repeatedly activating, we managed to pull through.

……Maybe there’s a hidden effect not mentioned in the item description, something like an increased activation rate when the wearer’s HP drops.

And on top of that, Aoi-chan, who was already a high-damage dealer as a Tier-4 Class, had equipped the Demon God's Accessory, boosting her firepower to insane levels. Thanks to that, we were making smooth progress.

[……We’re advancing incredibly well. Do you think we can take on the Boss?]

[Hard to say. At the very least, it feels like we can make it to the Boss Room.]

In this game, dungeons work by having each party generate their own instance through an NPC before entering, so there’s no risk of encountering other parties or competing for Boss fights.

On the other hand, fields outside of dungeons are shared across the server, meaning other players are present, and Boss fights often turn into competition. But with dungeons, as long as we reach the deepest area, we’re guaranteed a Boss battle.

Well, once the Boss is defeated, the dungeon is considered cleared, and after receiving the additional rewards, we’re automatically sent outside. After that, we won’t be able to re-enter the same dungeon for 24 hours. So, if someone’s farming EXP, it’s sometimes better to avoid defeating the Boss and just keep grinding.

For us, this was more of a test run, so if we reached the deepest area, we planned to take on the Boss.

[Alright, let’s give the Boss a shot once we reach the deepest area.]

[Sounds good. Even with these powerful accessories, I doubt we can win as a pair…… but let’s give it our best shot.]

And so, we reached the dungeon Boss and engaged in battle…… but somehow, we actually won.

[……We won.]

[……We really did. Or rather, Kaito-san, aren’t you way too OP? I even brought resurrection items, but you never died once, right?]

[The accessory effect just kept activating at the perfect times.]

[Kaito-san’s luck even shows up in things like this huh. It triggered exactly when the Boss used its strongest skills…… Well, putting that aside…… Kaito-san…… what color does the treasure chest look like to you?] ᚱÅNỖBËṣ

[……Gold.]

When a dungeon Boss is defeated, a treasure chest appears as a dungeon-clear reward. Naturally, its contents are random, and the rarer the item, the lower the drop rate. That’s why top players grind dungeons repeatedly.

However, on very rare occasions, the dungeon-clear reward chest turns gold. And when that happens, it guarantees the "rarest possible item from that dungeon’s reward pool".

This system had been around for a long time, but getting the highest rarity item wasn’t exclusive to gold chests. Plus, the appearance rate of gold chests was so absurdly low that I’d never seen one before.

……Unn, errr…… I really feel like my luck has some weird modifier on it.

<Afterword>

Bugged Luck Stat : [I figured if the activation rate was 100% all the time, people would suspect cheating, so I made it trigger at 100% only in clutch moments! Oh, and that ultra-low chance of a gold treasure chest? You’d be happier getting good stuff, right? Let’s make that guaranteed!]@@novelbin@@

Serious-senpai : [……That’s one considerate luck modifier you’ve got there……]
