After school, as I walked down the hallway, I felt a strange presence following me.
I deliberately chose not to turn around and kept walking.
Despite that, the strange presence not only continued to follow but even seemed to be getting closer.
I thought about ignoring it completely, but it finally got so close that I could feel its breath.
I quickened my pace and then suddenly stopped.
"Ouch!"
"What do you want? You've been following me since earlier."
Lilysha bumped her nose into my back as I stopped abruptly.
"You didn't have to stop so suddenly!"
"If some ghost-like thing is chasing me, of course I'd want to stop it . What do you want?"
"Nothing. I just happened to be going the same way as you."
"Is that so? Then there's no problem."
I continued walking and entered the men's restroom.
I chuckled as I saw Lilysha almost follow me in.
"W-wait! What are you doing going in there all of a sudden?"
"What's wrong with a guy entering the men's restroom? Isn't this where you were headed?"
"Y-you idiot!"
Lilysha's face turned red as she ran off.
Ever since my duel with her, she's been following me around like this.
My daily routine involves either shaking her off or leading her into a trap, only for Lucel to stick out her tongue and send her on her way.
"She's really persistent, huh? I wonder how much she regrets losing."
"Hehe, she's a cute girl, isn't she? Alphiss , what do you think of her?"
"What do you mean?"
Hiyori asked me with a meaningful look.
"It's common for strong men to have one or two girls by their side. They say even heroes have their weaknesses for beauty."
"Nonsense. If I had time to waste on something like that, I'd rather spend it training."
"Is that so , Lushiel ?"
For some reason, Hiyori turned to Lushiel .
Lushiel puffed out her cheeks and stomped her feet in frustration.

The next day, I was summoned to the student council.
I couldn't recall doing anything particularly wrong, but maybe it was because I shook off that stalker girl?
Nah, that couldn't be it. Though leading her to the men's restroom might have been a bit over the line.
"Alphiss ."
"Come in."
When I entered the student council room, the upperclassmen were all seated in a row.
The table had their positions and names written on it, making it easy to tell who was who.@@novelbin@@
The room looked like something out of a secret society's meeting room, with a circular table and the third-year president and vice-president seated at the far end.
To their sides were the treasurer, secretary, and public relations officer. At the front were the members of the disciplinary committee.
"Alphiss , nice to meet you. I'm Clyde, the student council president. Welcome to the student council."
"What do you want?"
"Aren't you intimidated by this impressive lineup of student council members? As expected of someone from the Balfont family."
"Impressive, huh?"
Clyde Isban, the student council president. A third-year at Seirland Academy, the son of a duke, and the top contender in terms of strength.
He's handsome and has a large female fanbase, with more than half of the girls in his year said to be infatuated with him.
The typical perfect guy, I guess.
At this point, aside from Clyde and the other third-years, no one else really stands a chance.
The second-years are barely any different from that Deniro group .
Actually, if Deniro had taken things seriously, he probably could have made it into the student council.
Given that, being told how "impressive" they are doesn't really make me feel any sense of danger.
Well, maybe if Clyde and the rest of them all came at me at once, I might feel a bit threatened.
But compared to my older brother Vaid and sister Miley from the Balfont family, who I can't possibly beat right now, they just pale in comparison.
"Hey, aren't you being a bit too cocky?"
"Galeo, it's fine. He's special."
"President Clyde, if we let this brat talk like this, it'll make us second-year disciplinary committee members look bad."
"Galeo, we're not getting anywhere. Can you please stay quiet?"
Clyde silenced Galeo with a commanding presence. Impressive.
"The reason we called you here today is about Lilysha over there. Thank you for stopping her rampage. If things had continued, we would have had to consider expelling her or suspending her."
"Don't thank me. Lilysha has potential."
I glanced at Lilysha, who quickly turned her face away.
After all that stalking, she acts like this now.
"Another reason we called you here is to invite you to join the student council. Despite your high placement in the entrance exams, you refused to join. Why is that?"
"I'm not interested. The student council is completely unnecessary in my life."
When I said that, Galeo from the second-year disciplinary committee slammed the table.
With a wild look reminiscent of a feral child, he bared his teeth and glared at me.
"Listening to you just now... you really don't know how to talk to your seniors, do you?"
"Do I need to respect you just because you're my senior? Do you have even one thing that I can respect about you?"
"Don't you dare talk back to me, you little brat!"
"President, can you shut him up? We're not getting anywhere, and if this keeps up, I'm leaving."
Clyde calmed Galeo down and silenced him.
Even so, Galeo didn't bother to hide his ferocity and kept his eyes locked on me.
"I took a look at your grades. You placed third overall in the entrance exams, and first in practical skills. With that kind of ability, why did you refuse to join the student council?"
"The student council is unnecessary in my life. I don't have anyone I need to show off my student council membership to."
"I see. I was hoping you'd join so we could consider you for the next council president."
No way. What's the point of being the big shot in a school?
Let the academically inclined handle that stuff.
I'm not good at studying—or rather, I don't need to, so I just did enough to pass the written exams.
The exams aren't depicted in the game, and the general subjects are pretty tough.
By the way, Lilysha took first place. On the other hand, Letitia, despite her appearance, is quite the airhead and barely scraped by in the written exams.
"If you're not going to join the student council, then could you at least take on a request from us?"
A sudden request, but I guess it's not bad to earn some experience from something like this.
There's no point in just beating up small fries forever.
What do you think?
