I Will Create a Good Ending for the Yandere Villainess

Chapter 118 118: Looking over Books?

After exiting their pods, nothing much happened besides being allowed to leave. It seemed it was the end of class. However, instead of going back home, Lillian had something else in mind.

She wandered through a long aisle. Beside her were two towering shelves, complete with books.

She drew in the overwhelming smell of aged pages and continued to look through the selection.

It was the library.

She was currently trying to find some inspiration on what she could do for her element—specifically, the parasitic one.

Right now, her focus was seeing if there were any that told of species of parasites. Fortunately for her, she found one.

The academy's library was grand enough to have books covering almost every subject. Makes sense, considering people get given powers of the most strangest of concepts.

After finding a few more, she walked back down the way she came from, carrying three books, and came upon a long rectangular wooden table.

At one end were people she didn't know, and at the other were Marionette, Millis, and even Reph.

Lillian stared at the purple-headed girl, impressed. Millis had been able to convince the Prince to come with them.

How she did do it? She didn't know. She didn't really need to know either. As long as the Second Prince becomes great friends with them, that's all she cares about.

In the game, he was classified as an "S" tier character to get. Why? That's because of how much of a glass cannon he was.

Due to his element and the various items that boosted its destructive capabilities, it was no wonder why he was sought after.

Added onto the fact that—due to a Trait—the more luxurious things he had on his person, the more power he could output.

'With that type of ability, I'm surprised he isn't hella materialistic.'

Lillian walked over and pulled out a chair beside Marionette and sat on it. She looked over what she was reading and found it to be some kind of fairytale.

She then looked towards the others and saw what they were reading.

Millis seemed to be deep inside a romance novel as she hunched over the table and flicked through its pages.

Reph was fully leaning back against his chair, with his crossed over and resting on the table. And in his hands, was... a comic book?

More accurately, a physical copy of a webtoon.

She let out a soft smile as she remembered the countless times she scrolled through her phone, digesting webtoons one after the other.

She looked towards the stacked books on the table next to her and grabbed the top one, reading it.

She also had her notebook out on one side, jotting down ideas on what she could do.

Eventually, after an hour, she moved on to the next book, repeating the cycle.

After another hour, she leaned back in her chair, breathing a deep sigh.

She had managed to gain some basic knowledge about the concept and how parasites latch onto their hosts and feed on them.

But also the fact that creatures like these could shift between being parasitic and being symbiotic.

She wasn't sure whether or not her element was solely about parasitism, but she felt like having some ideas about future spells could help.

Currently, she was still thinking of ways to give it shape. Eventually, she decided to keep it the way it was for now.

But for that to happen, she had to think of a solution to prevent mana and—in a possible scenario—"health" from being taken from her.

She looked over her notes and scratched her head. One of the books talked about mosquitoes, leeches, and even fungi.

But she wasn't exactly sure how to make use of the things she got written down.

She wasn't exactly... smart. About average.

She can memorise well, yes, but wouldn't really mean much if she couldn't comprehend anything she gained.

She had thought about coating her weapon in her element, but then thought about how energy-taxing it might be.

First, to have it wrap around her sword and stay on it. Second, the mental reminder to keep it either on or off.

On so she could reap its effect. Off so she didn't need to waste her mana on something that wasn't making contact with its targets.

She rubbed the gaps between her brows. She then rested her chin on her fingers, which formed a net.

Lillian glanced around, staring at the tall dark wooden ceiling that stretched over the shelves of books.

She let out a solemn sigh, 'I really hate studying...'

School was never her thing. So the fact she was going to spend two years here was vexing in a way.

'Well... 1 and a half years.'

She grimly thought about the event that was going to take place in December before ridding herself of the thought.

But she couldn't help but wonder about its usefulness. In the game, it was mainly just a plot point for the player to build connections and bonds.

She didn't have to do that. In fact, there wasn't an overly need to. The arc that happens in December needs a team of five to truly complete it.

Currently, there were already four.

She took a sneaky glance at Marionette before glancing away.

So all she needed now was to find one other person. But she'll leave that to her future self.

All she had to do now was survive this current arc in the story. Surviving meant she would have to live through countless homework, boring "info drops," and many more.

She shook her head, already tired of what was to come.

'Well... at least next month should be a bit more interesting. I believe that's when they're going to select some members as Class Representatives.'

While shaking her head, she caught a glance at the third book she brought over. She raised an eyebrow.

"Eh? I thought I brought only two."

Was she so lost in her journey to find books that she forgot she was carrying an extra?

And it seemed it wasn't even about parasites, to begin with. It was a book about human anatomy.

She traced her fingers over its hard, fabric cover and stared down at the vague illustration of a human's internal workings. Out of curiosity, she opened the book and began to read through it.

It just seemed to be some kind of in-depth biology study book.

She was mildly entertained by its contents, particularly the parts about the heart.

Just as she was about to turn away from the page—something sparked inside her mind.

Veins, arteries, capillaries. She wondered if she could make it the parasitic form of dull, grey channels that could act like them—specifically, veins.

To prevent backflow, veins have valves, which could be interpreted as trapdoors. They allow things through, but not out most of the time.

This was the key problem she had. Not only was she able to drain her enemy's mana, but they could also do the same to her.

But she did also remember that she was lazy in the form it appeared in, which may be the reason.

She shrugged, 'Meh. Seems like a good idea to add valves. If it works, then it's good. If not, oh well.'

Its current form was only a temporary placeholder for a much more "complex" idea she may have in mind.

'Maybe I should gain some inspiration from that purple tree as well...' she tapped at her chin before noticing a certain black-haired woman's gaze.

Lillian looked towards Marionette with a tilt of her head and asked:

"Did you need something?"

"..."

Marionette remained unresponsive for a moment, casually clutching her book before responding.

"I wanted to rest my eyes for a moment."

"And I just happened to be the target of it, huh?"

"... You seemed like the most logical thing to look at to rest."

Lillian rested her right elbow on the table and leaned her cheek into her hand.

The edges of her lips curved into a teasing smile as a playful glint jumped in her eyes.

"Was that supposed to be a flirt~?"

Marionette gazed at her before turning away. "I have no idea what you are talking about." and facing down at her book.

Lillian smirked at the stubborn assassin before noticing that the book she was reading was an entirely new one.

She then looked at the fairytale Marionette had just finished reading and pointed.

"Can I read that for a bit?"

The red-eyed woman glanced at the book she was referring to before nodding briefly.

After reaching over and grabbing it, she turned through its pages, lost in the fantasies.

If she had to summarise it, it would be about 5 characters—a lion, a bear, a fox, a cat, and a rabbit—treading through a harrowing landscape.

Eventually, as they were about to reach the end, the cavern they were in crumbled.

Fortunately, none of them were killed by the unstable cavern. However, the rabbit was left trapped under the gaps between the rubble.

Deciding it was best to leave it behind and save their own skin, they escaped through the exit.

The cat stayed behind and listened to the rabbit's cries for help, and it begged them to get it out.

However, the cat then unexpectedly turned around and began walking towards the exit as well.

Its voice then rang aloud, despite the booming noises of falling rocks.

Its words lingered in the chaotic atmosphere.

"My life is more important than a rabbit."
