Chapter 168 168: Bus Ride Back?
Once making their way through the portal, they were met with the other members of their group that had been taken out by the Needle Prowler — or Spider, which Lillian called it.
Lillian hummed, seeing the other classes were outside the forest as well. It seemed like it was only their class that had been able to make it out... Or maybe they were the last to be taken out by Mirage.
As they were getting on the bus, Lillian pulled Marionette and Mirage to the side.
"Did you need something, Miss Arius?" The teacher asked with his usual smile.
"Uh, yeah. Could we sell you the corpse of one of the monsters we killed in the forest?"
Mirage rubbed his chin, "You could... But I doubt there was anything above a D-rank in that forest—."
He was then met with the sight of the Spider's corpse — perfectly dissected and dismembered perfectly. He scrutinised it with the utmost interest, then asked:
"What rank is this monster? And how many mana shells did it have?"
"It was a Rank-C Gnarl. So—"
"Oh, so two, hm?" He held up one of the jars of blood, eyeing it. "Now, which one of you did this now?" He glanced towards the Roselle, but rather not make assumptions.
"It was Marionette." Lillian gestured.
He turned to Marionette, who just nodded at him.
"I see... You did a very fine job. I'll try and sell it for the highest amount. Should I assume Miss Roselle killed it?"
The Assassin shook her head, "No. It was, rather, Lillian who did it."
At her words, Mirage's smile seemed to become genuine as he glanced at Lillian, "Is that so...? Truly remarkable. Well then, please do get on the bus now." He patted the Spider's body and caused it to vanish. Most likely, into some spacial storage.
He then raised an eyebrow, feeling something was missing.
"Hey. Where's the head—"
But as he turned back, he realised that the two women had already gone back to the bus. He breathed a sigh before shrugging, "No matter... Must've been destroyed or something."
Lillian and Marionette made their way inside the chattering bus, making their way over to an empty seat. Once reaching one, the Rabbit turned back to the Assassin and asked:
"Would you like to sit at the—"
However, Marionette interrupted her mid-sentence.
"Would you like the window seat?"
"Eh? Are you sure? I might fall asleep aga—"
"That's fine."
"... Alright..."
Lillian nimbly scooted in, leaning her shoulder against the window. Soon enough, the bus started up and began to move. After a while, they reached a road that had a magnificent view of the sea.
Lillian couldn't help but wonder if this sea was the place that Zama fought the Dread Lord in before taking him into the land. She eventually drew her gaze towards Marionette, to find her reading a book with headphones over her ears.
She smiled at her, admiring her beauty, forgetting that this same woman was the one who left a hickey on her neck. Marionette soon noticed her gaze and lowered her headphones.
"Did you need something?"
"Just admiring the scenery."
"... That so?" She lowered her book onto her lap, "That same scenery is also the one you scolded not too long ago."
"You had it coming, Mari..." Lillian pouted, "And I don't even think that you believe your actions were wrong."
"Because I still don't." Marionette responded, still faced, "Are you so against it?" She tilted her head.
"If I told you beforehand, would you have been fine with it?"
Lillian gave a wry smile as a tint of red came on her cheeks, "You really are shameless to ask that, Mari..."
"Curious. Not shameless, Lilly..."
Lillian rolled her eyes, "Sure..." Before leaning against the window.
A few hours after their talk, Lillian fell asleep.
Marionette glanced down at her shoulder, staring at the sleeping Rabbit as she slept on it. She unconsciously raised a hand to the side of Lillian's head, intending to stroke it, before hesitantly pulling it away from her.
She gave an irritated sigh, "So, she gets to touch me by I can't touch her? How unfair..." She folded her arms with a huff.
Her eyes glanced at the hickey on Lillian's neck. She then smiled, pulling out her phone and snapping a photo of the Rabbit's sleeping face and hickey in the same picture. "I suppose... It was worth it to see this combination."
She then moved the photo into a folder called:
[Cute Lillian]

Lillian let out a yawn, feeling something stroke the side of her head. She opened her eyes and flinched as a dark hand made contact with her face. She then felt the side of her face press against something.
"Ah... You're finally awake."
Lillian glanced up, staring at Marionette. She then noticed a long dark object stretching from the Assassin's back.
"Oi. You can't touch me with your darkness, as well."
Marionette frowned at her words, "Isn't that a bit too much now? It's not like they can leave a mark on you." She then turned her face away, holding her chin, "Without malicious intent, of course."
Lillian sighed, pulling herself away from her and into her own seat, "Where are we? We back at the academy yet?"
Marionette nodded, "Just arrived. Everyone had got off already."
"E-eh!? Why didn't you wake me up?"
"..." Marionette smiled softly, "I was enjoying the scenery."
Lillian rolled her eyes, but smiled, nonetheless, "Alright, sweet-talker~. Let's just get off this bus."
After exiting the bus, they made their way towards the dorm.
"So, are you heading back to your room, or are you going to mine?" Lillian asked.
Marionette blinked at her, "I'll visit you the day after tomorrow. We do have two days off, if I were to recall correctly from what the teacher said."
Lillian smiled wryly, "Isn't the day after tomorrow when the punishment is lifted?"
Marionette became silent at her words.
Lillian just shook her head with a sigh, then asked:
"Oh, by the way. Do you have my panties by any chance?"
What do you think?
