Chapter 102: Phase Three: Global Expansion
December 2021.
The world was changing. And Sentinel Systems was at the center of it.
In the past four months, Sentinel OS had gone from an ambitious disruptor to an unavoidable global force. The Transition Initiative had worked—Fortune 500 companies had migrated en masse, unwilling to be left behind. Government agencies, pressured by cyberwarfare concerns, had accelerated their security integration. The Sentinel Cloud, with its decentralized, AI-driven encryption, had already absorbed 37% of corporate data infrastructure.
But Phase Three was different.
It wasn't about persuading industries anymore. It was about global domination.
And today marked the beginning.
Sentinel HQ – Executive Command Room.
The war room had been upgraded. Sentinel OS wasn't just running operations anymore—it was the operation. Every desk, every system, and every network ran on AI-optimized, holographic interfaces, eliminating the need for traditional hardware. A global operations dashboard stretched across the room, monitoring every corporate partner, government contract, and competitor reaction in real time.
Angel stood beside Matthew, scrolling through a live market analysis.
"We're ahead of schedule," she said. "Sentinel Cloud now holds 42% of the global enterprise cloud market. We're expanding twice as fast as AWS did in its peak years."
Matthew crossed his arms. "What's stopping us from reaching 60%?"
"Legal resistance," Angel replied. "Governments are starting to get nervous. They're realizing how much power we have."
Matthew smirked. "Let them be nervous."
Angel tapped her screen, bringing up a classified list of ongoing legal cases targeting Sentinel Systems.
"The European Commission is investigating whether Sentinel OS is becoming a 'global monopoly.' The U.S. Senate is discussing regulatory intervention to slow us down. China is developing a state-backed 'alternative OS' to compete with us, and Russia… well, they're just pissed they don't have access to Sentinel Cloud."
Matthew exhaled. "They don't have time to stop us." He turned to Elias. "How's Phase Three's infrastructure rollout?"
Elias swiped through hardware deployment data. "We've manufactured and deployed 400,000 units of Sentinel's holographic workstations globally. Supply chains are running smoothly—we're already outselling traditional computers in key markets."
"Good," Matthew said. "Then it's time for the next step."
Angel raised an eyebrow. "You mean full-scale replacement?"
Matthew nodded. "We're no longer an option. We're the standard."
Objective 1: The End of Traditional Operating Systems
The first phase of global expansion was eliminating the competition.
Marcus Ortega, the AI research lead, stepped forward. "We've conducted deep market analysis on legacy operating systems. Windows, macOS, and Linux still control 68% of the global user base—but that's about to change."
He pulled up a user migration projection.
"If current trends continue, Sentinel OS adoption will hit 55% by Q2 of next year. That means by June, more people will be using Sentinel OS than Windows."
Matthew leaned forward. "How do we accelerate that?"
Marcus smirked. "By making traditional OS systems obsolete."
He tapped his interface, and a list of vulnerabilities in Windows and macOS appeared on the holographic display.
"Our AI has identified over 200 exploitable weaknesses in existing operating systems—security flaws, inefficiencies, and outdated architectures. We don't have to 'attack' them. We just need to expose them."
Hannah crossed her arms. "So… we let their own weaknesses destroy them?"
"Exactly," Marcus confirmed. "We educate the corporate world about how inefficient traditional systems are. Once companies realize Sentinel OS is the only viable future, they'll drop Windows and macOS on their own."
Matthew smirked. "We don't kill our competitors. We let them kill themselves."
Objective 2: Political Integration.
Angel tapped her tablet, shifting the display to government relations.
"Legal resistance is increasing, but we can turn it to our advantage."
She pulled up a list of pending government contracts.
"If we secure Sentinel OS as the default operating system for national infrastructure, governments won't be able to regulate us. We're already running cybersecurity for four U.S. federal agencies, two European intelligence networks, and a joint military project between Japan and South Korea."
Matthew nodded. "So we need to make sure every government is running on Sentinel OS."
Angel smirked. "Exactly. Once that happens, regulating us would mean crippling their own systems."
Matthew exhaled. "Make it happen."
Objective 3: The Next-Generation AI – Sentinel Prime
The final—and most ambitious—piece of Phase Three was Sentinel Prime.
Dr. Velasquez, head of AI development, took the floor. "Sentinel OS is already the most advanced operating system in existence, but we can push it further."
He brought up a new AI architecture model.
"We've developed a new level of AI integration. Right now, Sentinel OS predicts and automates user needs. Sentinel Prime will go beyond that."
Matthew narrowed his eyes. "How far beyond?"
Velasquez swiped through a demonstration video.
"Sentinel Prime will eliminate the need for user input entirely. It will analyze work patterns, automate entire workflows, and make real-time decisions without user intervention."
Elias frowned. "So… the system starts running itself?"
"Not entirely," Velasquez clarified. "Users are still in control, but Sentinel Prime will anticipate and execute actions before they're even needed. It will write reports before they're requested, conduct financial projections before meetings, and even schedule optimal workflows based on global market shifts."
Matthew smirked. "So we're not just building an OS anymore. We're building the world's first self-operating digital ecosystem."
Velasquez nodded. "Once Sentinel Prime goes live, workplaces won't just be automated. They'll be autonomous."
Hannah leaned back. "That's going to make people uneasy."
Angel smirked. "Maybe. But once they see how much money and time it saves, they'll embrace it."
Matthew nodded. "Launch Sentinel Prime in beta by March. By the end of next year, we make it the default mode of Sentinel OS."
The meeting room fell silent. This was it. The moment when Sentinel OS transitioned from an operating system to a global necessity.
Matthew stood, addressing his team.
"In one year, traditional operating systems will be gone."
He gestured toward the government adoption plan.
"In two years, no major institution will be able to function without Sentinel OS."
He pointed at Sentinel Prime.
"And in five years, the world won't just be using Sentinel OS. The world will be running on Sentinel OS."
Angel smirked. "And after that?"
Matthew exhaled, glancing at his device as a new classified directive appeared.
'Phase Four: The Future of Humanity – 2023.'
Matthew smirked.
"After that, we redefine what it means to be human."
What do you think?
