In order to live immortal, I changed a martial artist world to a xianxia world

Chapter 48 - Awakening

Chapter 48: Awakening

“Why haven’t they woken up yet?”

Hovering in mid-air, Fan Qinghui, gazed intently at Shi Feixuan, her worry evident.

Within the Celestial Abode, both Shi Feixuan and Wan Wan (绾绾, Wǎn Wǎn) lay unconscious. Fan Qinghui believed only one could claim the Celestial Inheritance.

“Whoever wakes first will hold the advantage,” she thought.@@novelbin@@

“Wake up, Wanwan!”

Nearby was Zhu Yuyan who shared similar sentiments. She glared at Wanwan’s unconscious form, fists clenched. Were it possible, she would storm into the Celestial Abode herself to rouse her disciple.

While the two leaders fretted, other Terrestrial Immortals watched with reserved curiosity.

“This Celestial Abode accepts two candidates at once. Does it intend for them to compete?”

Song Que, leader of the Song Clan of Lingnan, pondered aloud.

[Song Que (宋缺, Sòng Quē) can be interpreted as “Song of the Imperfect” or “Song the Unfinished.”]

[Song Clan of Lingnan

(岭南宋阀, Lǐngnán Sòngfá) can be understood as “The Prestigious Song Family of Southern Mountains.”]

Rarely seen in the martial world, he had come out of seclusion, drawn by the promise of the Celestial Inheritance. Although disappointed to find himself excluded, he observed events with intrigue rather than frustration.

Unbeknownst to the onlookers above, a figure stood hidden among the cliffs below.

“So, the Celestial Abode manifests in the Great Sui.”

Yu Wentu, a Terrestrial Immortal at the pinnacle of his power, regarded the situation with calm detachment.

[“Yu Wen” (宇文): A compound surname from Chinese history, often associated with the Xianbei people during the Northern Dynasties. Yu Wentu (宇文拓, Yǔwén Tuò (more fully rendered as Yu Wen Huaji)) could be translated as “Yu Wen the Transformer” or “Yu Wen of Cultural Change.”]

“Regardless of who claims the inheritance, the Emperor will reap the rewards,” he mused.

Unlike the others, Yu Wentu harboured no illusions of personal gain. His allegiance lay with the imperial court, and he was confident he could handle any unforeseen developments—even those involving the Celestial Abode’s chosen candidates.

“She’s awake!” Zhu Yuyan’s sharp voice shattered the tension.

“Shi Feixuan has awakened too!” Fan Qinghui exclaimed with equal urgency.

The crowd erupted in excited murmurs.

“Who will claim the inheritance?”

“Shi Feixuan—she’s the heir to Cihang Jingzhai, destined for greatness!”

“Nonsense! Wanwan is the Yin Kui Sect’s prodigy, born for this moment!”

Despite knowing the inheritance was beyond their reach, the gathered martial artists remained, desperate to witness history and gauge the tide of future power.

Inside the Celestial Abode

“My head… What happened?”

Wanwan stirred, rubbing her temples.

“Wait. Wasn’t I swallowed by that black hole? Where am I?”

Her surroundings bewildered her. The last thing she recalled was the black hole’s gravitational force, pulling her in alongside Shi Feixuan.

“Is this… the afterlife?”

“You again?” she snapped, noticing Shi Feixuan stirring nearby.

“Must you haunt me everywhere, Shi Nigu ? You’re like a ghost that refuses to leave!”

[Shi Nigu (师尼姑, Shī Nígū) can be interpreted as “Stone Nun” or “The Stone Buddhist Nun.” it is used as a derogatory nickname Wan Wan uses for Shi Feixuan.]

Shi Feixuan ignored the insult, studying her surroundings. “Where are we?”

“Wanwan!”

A familiar voice echoed through the space.

“Master?” Wanwan turned sharply, joy lighting her features.

Yet her excitement gave way to astonishment as she took in the figures beside her master, Zhu Yuyan. Each hovered in mid-air—an unmistakable sign of Terrestrial Immortals.

“Shi Feixuan!”

Fan Qinghui’s voice followed.

“You are destined for greatness. The Celestial Abode has chosen you to inherit the path of immortality. But whether you succeed depends on your own fortune.”

The weight of these words sank into both women.

“So, this is… the Celestial Inheritance?”

Wanwan and Shi Feixuan exchanged uneasy glances, realization dawning.

The inheritance lay within their grasp, but competition was inevitable. And outside, the gaze of an entire dynasty bore down upon them.
