Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System

Chapter 206 Yuna Mistalore

'Long, upward-curved horns that glisten like the most opulent of rubies, enchantingly fluffy gray eyelashes that flutter with an inhuman grace, and her concealed aura… How intriguing…'

Cassius had no idea what was actually going on here, but just knowing that she was not human meant that there were likely many complicated matters deeply rooted in this kingdom. If at all possible, he would've preferred to stay away from all the trouble. However, as the 12th Princess indifferently walked past the large sea of people he was blending in with, her jewel-like eyes darted toward him.

It was only for a moment, but it definitely happened.

And in that instant, as if instinctually, Cassius subconsciously realized that the trouble would certainly be coming straight to him…

After that tense moment of eye contact passed, the 12th Princess, Yuna Mistalore, shifted her gaze away from him. Looking at the intimidatingly large colosseum looming over, she briefly paused.

Taking a slightly longer breath, she ultimately approached the cracked colosseum doors and disappeared inside.

That was when the peasants and lower nobles congregated around the colosseum finally learned to breathe. The heated discussions then resumed in a rather loud fashion.

"So that's the 12th Royal Princess?? I haven't seen her in person until now, but she's so beautiful! Possibly the most beautiful girl in the country!"

"Indeed, indeed. She has a quiet, mysterious way about her. It really sucks you in and makes you want her to suck something else!"

"What did you just say, you perverted bastard!? You won't be getting within even a hundred meters of the Princess again! Why? Because you're about to experience what it's like to be a cripple!!"

"Har!? You bastards wanna go at it!? Fine, let's fight!!"

A brawl started in the streets.

The city guards eventually had to intervene, but by the time they got around to breaking up the fight, the perverted man had already lost. He had been beaten to a pulp, with his face more like a pig's than a human's. Furthermore, both of his legs and both of his arms had been shattered beyond recovery.

Unless a benevolent Saintess or Saint assisted the perverted bastard, he would likely forever remain a cripple…

Anyway, making use of the commotion occurring among the crowd, Cassius discreetly approached the two large colosseum doors and slipped inside. He did so unnoticed. However, once arriving on the other side of the large doors, he was almost immediately found out.

"Another newcomer? And this one seems to like keeping things secretive!"

A young man of around 23 years of age with medium-length blonde hair approached Cassius with a smug look on his handsome face. Upon getting a little closer, he bent down and looked into the hood, only to stumble back a step when he saw the cold pair of icy blue eyes hiding within the darkness of the cloak.

Though, once he realized what he had done, the blonde-haired man coldly snorted. "Yeah, well, whatever, dude. I can be all mysterious if I really wanted to as well!"

"Yeah, right."

A mocking feminine voice sounded out from the side, prompting the blonde-haired man to shoot a nasty glare in a black-haired woman's direction. "Are you itching for a fight, Diana? Because I'll give you one."

The woman called Diana scoffed before shifting her large witch's hat a bit to the side. "A fight with you would be like battling a mentally disabled toddler, Christopher. That is to say that it wouldn't be much of a fight. The negative karma I'd gain from such a scenario might even cause me some serious backlash!"

"Why you…!"

Christopher and Diana butted heads as sparks of anger flew all around.

Cassius stood in the back, acting as if none of what was happening had anything to do with him. He was going to quietly vacate the scene. At least, that was until he heard a soft feminine voice that seemed to melt into one's ears like honey:

"You don't need to concern yourselves with them. They're like this all of the time."

Looking toward the source of this beautiful voice, Cassius saw the same white-haired woman that those outside called the 12th Royal Princess. Her eyes still mildly glowed red like a warm sunset, and the calm way about her had not changed one bit.

Holding one hand over the other and both hands on the pelvis area of her kimono, Yuna soothingly said, "I saw you outside. You're… interesting…"

After processing the initial surprise, Cassius's expression returned to complete neutrality. "I saw you as well, and I can reciprocate the feeling of interest."

Yuna silently appraised his barely visible face. After a second, she walked to a spot beside him and said, "You can see them, can't you? My unique qualities?"

"You can tell?"

"Call it intuition."

"I see…"

They once again entered a period of silence while apathetically watching Christopher and Diana butt heads. Others who came to take the Nightmare Slayer test eventually had to interfere, and only then did the heated air thaw out. Though, with hundreds of participants gathered here in this wide colosseum space and every single one of them prideful youngsters, more arguments were bound to occur.

But out of everyone here waiting for something to happen, the two vastly contrasting figures standing to the far back seemed to be the most unbothered. They looked ahead, yet only appeared to be focused on one another.

"Your name?" Cassius suddenly turned his head toward her and asked, to which she did the same and answered, "My name is Yuna. Yuna Mistalore. But you already knew that, did you not? Why ask?"

"Isn't it only proper to ask someone's name?"@@novelbin@@

Yuna thought for a second, then nodded. "Makes sense."

Silence.

Cassius had looked away from the short beauty, but seeing as her intense stare was still drilling into his side, he said, "My name is Cassius. Cassius Steele."

Only after hearing his name did Yuna return to staring ahead.

After a couple of seconds.

"How were you able to see my true appearance?" asked Yuna, once again looking in his direction. "Even the Senior Nightmare Slayers, the Court Mages, the Royal Knights, and my father were unable to view my true appearance. So how could you?"

Cassius faintly smiled. Without locking eyes with her, he said, "Call it intuition."

Stare....
