Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System

Chapter 224 Hellion's Sinister Intentions

Like a ping-pong ball being tossed around on a table, the Mage Lord's bloody mess of a body crashed through every single meteor falling from the sky. Eventually, after less than half a nanosecond of hypertravel, the meteors were left as no more than flying debris.

As for the Mighty and All-powerful Mage Lord… calling him a bag of meat and bones would be quite generous to describe his current appearance.

Even with an S-Rank Awakener's insane Endurance stat, his regeneration was unable to help.

He died.

For the first time since the Gates appeared nearly a century ago, a World-class Hunter perished from something other than natural causes. This event was a terrifying thing to imagine—unbelievably terrifying.

"Humph! That's what you get for insulting Yimin's Master, carrot-head!" Yimin coldly snorted as she tossed aside the gory mess in her claws.

But if this event was such a terrifying thing to imagine, then why was there someone as cute as Yimin acting as the cause of it all…?

Yimin—while covered in some of her own blood but mostly the Mage Lord's—casually licked off the blood trickling down her claws. "Blegh! Even his blood tastes nasty!" She coughed up whatever she had just swallowed before whipping her tail around and shooting off into the distance.

'Weird-looking lady said we would meet again on that mountain with the funny-looking colorful chickens, and she would tell Yimin the next step on how to find and save Master. I'll go there!'

Her thoughts echoed out rather joyfully as she left behind a scene of mass destruction that would leave the massive country of Russia forever scarred.

Not only had she murdered one of the World-class Hunters—only one of two in Russia—but she also savagely brutalized thousands of the most powerful A-Rank and S-Rank Hunters, including the Green Dragon Hunter Party.

Vera died at her hands, and so did the rest of her party.

In total, dozens of S-Rank Hunters fell to her… which meant very few S-Rank Russian Hunters still remained.

Even the extraterrestrials disguised as high officials or powerful Hunters died at her hands, though she was none the wiser to their true identities. Then again, she did briefly wonder why they looked so weird after she killed them, even prompting her to taste-test one of them.

However, she immediately spat out the big-headed gray freak, and that was the end of that.

Anyhoo, the Russia that existed before Yimin killed the Mage Lord was already a land riddled with craters and devastation. But when she left the fiery meteor debris to fall upon every inch of the country, the snowy wonderland transformed into a land of… death… and misery.

Fortunately, the deaths of the Russians were extremely quick, as the meteor debris rained down at a ridiculously fast speed. The common populace suffered none—their demise merciful.

However, of those who still remained in Russia following the greatest apocalypse event in its history, there was one… one who gradually began to awaken because of all the constant rumblings.

The man whom those under the age of 50 had no idea even existed—a man classified as a 1st Generation World-class Hunter—a man whom the Russians feared even more than the Mage Lord—

Igor Volkov—the Wolf Deity—!!!

Deep underground in Russia, in an extremely spacious ice chamber, a man who hadn't opened his eyes in decades began to grow restless. The ice chains that tied him to pillars stretching upward for thousands of meters began to rattle. The ice pillars themselves also started to creak and groan.

Then, a crack appeared.

*Crack, crack, CRACK, CRACK!*

More cracks appeared until, eventually, there wasn't a single pillar without a web of fractures spreading across its surface.

Down below, a man with white, wolf mane-like hair that reached his lower torso moved slightly from his kneeling position. His face was entirely covered by an ice mask, but even with his mouth and eyes fully obscured, one could still see the hot, steamy breath seeping out of the mask.

"Time…" The voice scraped against one's mind like rusted metal on stone, each word a jagged wound in the silence. "It's almost time for the Ice Sovereign's cage to shatter… Nearly there…"

With Igor Volkov's voice no longer breaking the silence of the underground ice chamber—and the cracking coming to a close—the camera zoomed out.

— Back on the Himalayan Mountain, where Hellion first requested Yimin to 'save' her Master from the Rushans —

"You killed them all?"

Hellion's intoned voice immediately resounded as soon as Yimin landed on the flat mountaintop. She was sitting in the same spot as last time, and in her hands was yet another newspaper. However, the newspaper this time described a level of destruction that extended far beyond the chaos Yimin had caused before.

The world was in a state of extreme panic, with even the world leaders and S-Rank Hunters unaware of what they should do now.

'It's been around six hours since the news came out about Russia's near utter annihilation, which means this dragon took a few more detours again…'

Hellion's eyes narrowed ever so slightly.

In response to her icy stare, Yimin chirpily said, "Yimin killed all of them! All the evil Rushans!"

"Are you sure?"

"Of course—!" That was when she faintly recalled scenes of relatively strong humans fleeing beyond her scope of killing. "Well… perhaps a few of the Rushans got away… but only a few! Like… erm… one, two, or three!"

Hellion blankly stared at the silver-haired girl. A silly look was plastered across her face as beads of sweat rolled down her cheeks.

A sigh escaped Hellion's lips as she shook her head. Though, if someone had been paying close enough attention, they would have noticed a darkness buried deep within her gaze; it was boundlessly dark. Terrifyingly evil.

'That Mage Lord nearly conveyed killing intent toward my Master. Death was a mercy for him,' Hellion thought coldly. 'And those of his kind are no better… They were affiliated with the man who wished harm upon my Master. For this, they all deserved to die.'

'As for those who slipped out of the trap… I'll have to deal with them personally.'
