Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System

Chapter 246 Half-step 2nd Class Slayer

The other three [Dark Kraken Dragons]—which were lingering at the back—were hit by the weaponized [Dark Kraken Dragon] the same as the others. However, by the time it reached them, both the speed of the Kraken and the state of its body were massively reduced. Thus, they came out of the unexpected attack relatively unharmed.

But they had little time to celebrate, for Cassius's wrathful expression had already crossed five mountains of blood. He [Teleported] next to the 6th [Dark Kraken Dragon]'s scaly face and forced Lilith to expand tens of thousands of times her original size. She quickly became nearly a third the size of a [Dark Kraken Dragon]—and with the consecutive cast of 'Atomic Slash,' the 6th [Dark Kraken Dragon] was unable to even blink before being eviscerated.

The last two [Dark Kraken Dragons] were also severely injured by the blast radius of the Atomic Slashes. But with their lives on the line, they ignored the damage and lashed out with nearly half a hundred wickedly sharp tentacles. In an attempt to unleash everything they possibly could, they even opened their large dragon-like mouths and formed black spheres of flames that rapidly condensed and burst forward.

Two casts of |Black Dragon Incineration Cannon| blasted from the [Dark Kraken Dragons], each beam attack creating a wide-ranged line of destruction that took the lives of thousands of Rank 2 and Rank 3 Nightmares.

The attacks seemed virtually unstoppable, their collisions inevitable.

Yet, with nothing more than the crisp metallic sound of a sword being repeatedly sheathed and unsheathed, time seemed to stop.

The black beams froze. The owners of those attacks froze. Even the Nightmares in the vicinity froze.

Amidst it all, an otherworldly man—his face looking as though it had just been dipped into the coldest, most intolerably hot pits of HELL—walked among the terrifying Nightmares. Every single one of them—even the weakest of them—towered over him in size, and yet his steps reverberated louder than the silence that accompanied their eternal stasis in time.

Cassius spoke no words. With his now-shrunken Lilith in his left hand, he summoned Mora, Rivers of Blood, in his right. Both gleamed dangerously red, their killing intent only matched by their not-so-subtle dislike for one another.

"Mora…" Cassius robotically muttered. "Fraj Rose Frontier — 1st Ultimate Move — Scythe Symphony."

RUMBLE!!!

The ground beneath the lone humanoid figure began to violently tremble as the air around him and his bloody scythe convulsed. Ripples spread throughout space and time as Mora increased to three times her original size. Then she multiplied: from one to two, two to four, then to a hundred. And then to a thousand. Then a hundred thousand.

All replicas of Mora materialized above the two [Dark Kraken Dragons], their lethally sharp edges looming dauntingly overhead.

"Kill."

With that single command from Cassius, he swung down Mora, and the rest of her replicas followed suit. Along with these slashes came scythe arcs so vast in quantity that the whole sky was blotted out. If the [Dark Kraken Dragons] hadn't been moving on an entirely different scale of speed right now, the last thing they would've seen before meeting their demise would've been complete and utter… darkness.

The black scythe arcs—numbering in the hundreds of thousands—sliced into every inch of the enormous Peak Rank 3 Nightmares. Less than a second later, nothing but a long-lasting rainfall of blood remained of the once horrifying creatures. Read latest chapters at My Virtual Library Empire

A flood of System Notifications poured in as the cold-faced, immortal-like man stood beneath the blood rain that served as the gruesome aftermath of his enemies' slaughter. His eyes flicked over the messages, calm and detached, as if the chaos around him was nothing more than a passing storm.

*Ding!*

Following these System Notifications, the Idle Evolution System delved deeper into the specific improvements to his Trainer Rank and Bloodlines. It also sent out notifications for all the blood currently being absorbed by him, Lilith, and Mora, with the latter two refining and copying their share of the blood before sending it back to him.

[Glad you survived, by the way! (˶˃⤙˂˶)]

[Finding a new Host at this stage in the game wouldn't have been easy. Plus, I've really gotten used to you…]

There was almost a heartwarming moment. At least, until the Idle Evolution System continued with:

[Torturin–... I mean, building character with you is just so entertainin–... I mean, enjoyabl–... I mean, so very fun!]

Any other time, Cassius would've popped a blood vessel, but right now, he was too distracted by the residual effects of the existential crisis he had just faced.

It made him wonder if it was time to leave the Boundless Gorge for now—lest he experience something similar again and not come back from it…

Nonetheless, the remainder of the System Notifications were still ringing out. Along with them came a long string of various power-ups.

*Ding!*

[Your Trainer Rank has advanced from the 'Mid-Veteran Stage' → 'Late-Veteran Stage']

|Strength +46,000|

This breakthrough brought Cassius one step closer to the Outlandish Trainer Stage, the Trainer Rank that the Sword God himself had capped at prior to his ascension. When he reached the pinnacle of the SSS-Rank, this was the Stage he had achieved. And now Cassius—who was merely at the S-Rank—was nearing the same league of power.

Everything in this world had a cost. And to acquire greater strength, both the Sword God and his successor, Cassius Steele, knew what needed to be done to attain the strength they so desired. Pain. Lots of it. That was what they were willing to endure.

Even at the loss of their own sanity, they continued pushing forward…
