Chapter 361 - 1/7]
OOOOM!
A tsunami of information suddenly flooded Cassius's mind, caused by the Sword God merely touching his forehead. And from this slight touch, dozens of millennia of pain and suffering overwhelmed Cassius's psyche.
The pain was immense!
Unbearable even!
But he refused to give in.
"Good kid," the Sword God praised as exhaustion took hold of him, forcing him to sit down in meditation in order to steady his raging Will. 'Do what I couldn't; use what I gave you today to achieve the absolute pinnacle of fortitude. A level that even the Gods above could only dream of achieving…'
With that, the Sword God entered a deep slumber, recuperating.
When Cassius awoke from what was definitely an information overload, he looked around. That was when he saw an unconscious Sword God sitting in the lotus position.
Something also bled his eardrums. And as his hearing started to clear up, his vision followed suit. The blurry image of a couple of beautiful women shaking him like crazy turned into his reality.
"Master, you must wake up!!" Yimin shouted through snot and tears, wiping all said bodily fluids on the barely lucid man. "Yimins can't live without Mashters…!"
'I'm sure you could manage, you creature of avarice…'
"Master…" Maxy held her hands over her ample bosom, worry making her big round eyes water. "You can't die yet… Not until I…"
"Not until you what?" asked Cassius, shooting his eyes wide open.
Astonishment froze Maxy's expression. Then she realized what she had just said aloud, prompting a deep shade of crimson across her face.
"F-Forget what I said, dumb bastard…!" she defensively snapped. "Yo-You scum, pervert, enslaving scoundrel…!!"
Harsh!
Cassius tilted his head in confusion. 'What's her deal?'
"Mashter!?" Yimin straddled him, shaking her perky pudding mountains all over the place, practically voiding Cassius's peripheral vision. "You're alive!! Yimins brought you back to life!!"
"No, you didn't—"
"Now Yimin and Master can have pups of our own—a litter!" Yimin got lost in her own delusions, rubbing her plump butt everywhere that it wasn't supposed to be. "Master and Yimins should get married right away! Then the sex'es comes after—"
*Bonk!*
"Why did you lot come up here anyway?" asked Cassius while blowing off the steam coming out of his fist. "I do recall instructing all of you to stay behind."
Everyone, even Nyxvoldar and Raijin, began nervously sweating. Averting their gazes, they couldn't appear any guiltier.
Sighing, Cassius said, "Whatever, let's just leave this place already."
Although there was surely more to explore of the ridiculously large 6th Floor of Humanity, he saw no tangible value in exploring when there was more power to be had elsewhere.
Since Humanity hadn't really antagonized him, he couldn't just up and wantonly slaughter them. That wasn't a low he had reached when it came to morality.
Or whatever little morality he had left…
There may eventually come a day when the pain became too much to bear. And Cassius would ultimately no longer possess the capacity necessary to care about anyone or anything.
But that day was not now.
"Let's depart," he directed as he leapt atop Raijin's head. "The Astral Cannon is over there. That is how we'll get into Heaven—through the 1st Arch of the Heavenly Kingdom."
Everyone quickly composed themselves and followed his lead.
After arriving at the huge technologically advanced railgun-like device sitting on the northern side of the Astral Globe, Cassius fanned away the surrounding cosmic energies. After which, Raijin entered through an open passageway leading into the solar-system-sized device.
Traveling like a blur, Raijin and the gang made it to the transportation point of the railgun, which was where the firing process began.
But from the looks of it, the thing hadn't been fired in who knew how many years. Rust even seemed to be corroding the unknown material that went into constructing the railgun.
Weirder yet, there were signs of wide-scale fights and struggles scattered about. Cracks, sword marks, burns, and various other forms of damage indicators made it clear that more than just a few people had fought here.
"Just what were they fighting over, I wonder," mused Cassius as he shrunk Raijin, letting him perch on his right shoulder.
Yimin and the others trailed behind him.
"And why would they be fighting inside of a long-distance transportation device?"
The more he thought about it, the weirder the whole hypothetical scenario became.
"That is unless…" Staring more intently at the railgun's cyberpunk interior, Cassius's lashes flickered. "Was this thing previously used as a weapon?? With these signs of a fight serving as evidence of an ancient war???"
This revelation brought forth another question—
'What were the ancient beings using the railgun to fight…?'
Putting this thought to the back of his mind, Cassius activated the railgun as instructed. It was only then that he fully understood just how much power the railgun was capable of wielding.
Even after infusing all of his Godforce into the railgun, it felt like only a millionth of the weapon's maximum magical energy had been filled.
However, even though that may have been the case, the device was still operational enough to transport him to the Heavenly Kingdom. With that in mind, Cassius huddled Yimin and the others close to him. Then he beckoned for the railgun to charge, which it did right away.
FWOOOOM!
The railgun charged up enough that cosmic violet energies were being wildly discharged in every direction. The barrel of the weapon of mass destruction lit up like a star, with it being entirely powered by trace amounts of the Astral Globe's energy, as well as nearly everything Cassius had in the tank.
The Sword God watched this from billions of miles away, his consciousness having just returned to him.
"It seems like he's stronger than I originally thought he was," he struggled to say, a wide grin gracing his cracked lips. "Now I'm regretting sending him away. Fighting him would be interesting."
Finally, the railgun finished its charging process. Cosmic energies whipped around in the form of hyper-condensed tendrils, increasing the radiating heat to ludicrous levels.
Then—
BOOOOOOM!
It fired!
"Fly high, brother," said the Sword God, his gaze focused on the giant brilliant beam of energy drilling through the atmosphere. "You'll need to if you keep treading the same path you've been walking. I hope my comprehensions of pain and suffering have helped you get one step closer to the true peak of mentality. The stage beyond the God Stage—one that I theorized as myth long ago."
What do you think?
