Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System

Chapter 364 - 2/7]

"N-No, it's not that either…!" Flustered, Memphis waved her hands in front of her. "He-He's just as close to me as a brother would be. That's all…"

"Mhmm," Mikaela hummed, not believing a single bit of it. "That's what you've been telling me all this time. But do you even believe what you're saying? If you're to condense your Divine Spark, then you must first understand yourself. Only then can you discard your mortality and ascend to Godhood."

"I…" Memphis bit her cherry-red lips, frustration building up inside her. "I know, Mother…"

"I know you do," Mikaela smiled fondly.

That was when she sensed it—

An invader.

"Hmm?" Her brows arched, further accentuating her drop-dead gorgeous face. 'What an intriguing aura…'

Noticing something amiss, Memphis asked, "What's the matter, Mother?"

"Oh, nothing much," replied Archangel Mikaela, her eyes returning to their closed state. "There's an uninvited guest that requires handling. But that's of no concern to us; the others will take care of the problem."

"...I see…"

Memphis was curious but felt that inquiring any further would only annoy her mother.

"No matter," said Mikaela. "Show me the progress you've made with your eight-winged transformation battle prowess. I've already set up the protective and restricting barrier, so as usual, feel free to go all out."

"Yes, Mother," replied Memphis as eight stunning pearl-white wings sprouted from her back. "I'll hold nothing back."

"Good."

— Meanwhile, in a faraway corner of the extremely massive 6th Arch of the Heavenly Kingdom, a group mostly consisting of dragons appeared —

Activating his aura concealment and camouflage almost immediately, Cassius just hoped no one saw him.

And no one did.

Well… none except one…

"Mashter!"

Yimin bounced over to her Master, licking her lips like crazy while staring out at all the floating islands—or, more specifically, the winged people flying above and inside the islands.

"Can Yimins eats the birdies!?"

*Thonk!*

"No," replied Cassius, karate-chopping her head one extra time for good measure. "We already went over this on the lower Arches. You are not to eat any of the Angels; we're trying to remain incognito, remember?"

"Inc…ogito…?" Yimin's tongue twisted as she looked at her Master with glossy eyes. "Yimins doesn't like the icogito… Wants to eat birdies…"

Silence…

"Why aren't you like her?" Cassius asked the other dragonoid woman—the one with long, peachy-colored hair and honeydew eyes.

Maxy shifted her interested gaze away from the Heavenly Isles of the 6th Arch of Heaven. Matching her Master's stare, she answered, "I'm a lot older than that one is. Furthermore, my race appears to be of a far lower quality. Mine typically have shorter maximum lifespans, whereas hers are… very, very long. Honestly, I have no idea where a type of dragon like her would even come from; it's obvious that her race exceeds the limits of the Ascension Tower."

"Exceeds the limits…?"

Taking another look at Yimin, Cassius saw her toot and then glance at her behind in bewilderment, seemingly unsure of what just happened.

"The only thing she's exceeding is the limits of my brain's capacity," said Cassius, veins bulging all over his face. "I'm pretty sure I got the broken universal-threat dragon…"

Maxy giggled softly, much more open with him than she had been over a dozen years ago. "Anyway, Master, where exactly are we going right now? For the other Floors, we spent very little time sightseeing or veering off the endless paths leading to the next Arches. Why are we changing things up now?"

The Heavenly Kingdom was made up of seven Arches, each a massive cosmic structure that couldn't be fully seen by the naked eye of anyone below the Godlike Rank. They were both the Floors and the entrances to the Floors, their giant golden visages visible from behind and in the background ahead.

No one—besides maybe the Heavenly Progenitor—knew what the Arches actually were or why they couldn't be physically interacted with, but they were considered the trademarks of the Heavenly Kingdom.

They were also what prevented entry to those without the proper identification. And that identification was—

The bloodline of an Angel.

To reach the higher Floors—unless you had extremely hard-to-come-by permissions—you had to be an Angel of proportionately better lineage.

Now, how did Cassius go about ascending the Arches of the Heavenly Kingdom over the years?

SHA! SHA!

Sprouting from his back were three pairs of blackish-red and white wings, six in total. They shimmered unlike anything else, their glow mesmerizing.

Cassius had stolen Angel Bloodlines from strong Angels, assimilating them into his Origin Progenitor Bloodline. This not only allowed for seamless bloodline acquisition but also a level of synchronicity between body and bloodline.

Simply put, in the eyes of every Angel and the Heavenly Arches, he was more Angel than Angel!

A noble-blood at that!

Descending to a moderately sized island, Cassius saw that no one was flying around. Assuming that flight was forbidden by the rules, he neatly folded his magnificent wings behind his back. He also forced the same occurrence for Yimin and the others, all of whom possessed Angel Bloodlines as well.

'The Origin Progenitor Bloodline truly is unquestionably useful,' he thought to himself while approaching the high-reaching gates of a bustling, pearl-white city. 'Not only has it tremendously assisted in bringing my Godforce past 1—and my Unity over 100—it has also periodically given me new, synthesized abilities.'

One such ability enabled Cassius to partially replicate and bestow minor aspects of his existence to others.

{[Origin Blessing]} - [GX+]

—[Copy and gift up to 10% of any Bloodline, Physique, or Special Quality of your existence to someone else. The exact percentage allocated depends on both the quality of the aspect being gifted and the potential synergy the recipient has with it.]

—[Ability Limit: 5/100]

The ability wasn't omnipotent and was limited in more than one way, but it certainly helped Cassius better empower those who stuck close to him. He wasn't expecting them to even remotely catch up to him—not with all his cheats, hard-work, and character development—but it definitely made them less of a burden.
