C50 – Anytus and Qiang Nantie Comprehended the Taichi and Eight Trigrams

After what felt like an eternity, Qiang Nantie couldn’t make heads or tails of the situation. His only choice was to rouse himself from his state of consciousness.

As his eyes fluttered open, he found Anytus standing before him. With a warm tone, Anytus inquired, “You’re awake?”

“Yes.” Qiang Nantie’s gaze quickly shifted to the enormous tortoise behind Anytus, and he exclaimed in astonishment, “Where did this massive tortoise come from?”

“I’ve had some revelations from the tortoise shell and devised a formation. Do you recall the black tortoise I had with me?” Anytus asked.

“You don’t mean to say it transformed from that little tortoise, do you?” Qiang Nantie questioned.

“Indeed. It’s been quite fortunate. I’ve named it the Black Tortoise. How does that sound?” Anytus said with a smile, affectionately stroking the Black Tortoise’s head, which seemed to revel in his touch.

“I think it’s an excellent name. It could be one of the Four Saint Beasts,” Qiang Nantie responded.

“Four Saint Beasts?”

Anytus had only recently grasped the Tai-Chi Diagram and hadn’t delved deeply into it yet, so he was unfamiliar with Qiang Nantie’s reference.

Qiang Nantie elaborated, “The Eastern Azure Dragon can protect the Heaven Gate.”

“The Western White Tiger can secure the Black Gate.”

“The Southern Vermillion Bird can watch over the Yellow Gate.”@@novelbin@@

“And the Northern Black Tortoise can fortify the Earth Gate.”

“United, they could withstand adversaries from all corners!”

Reflecting on this, Anytus remarked, “It seems your insights surpass mine.”

“I owe it to your generosity. The Yin-Yang Energy that entered my body previously was of immense help,” Qiang Nantie shared.

Anytus offered a gentle smile, clearly enriched by Qiang Nantie’s words.

“Brother Anytus, Brother Qiang Nantie, you’re both awake!”

The Great Empress and Monima approached from a distance, their faces alight with joy.

Anytus spoke up, “The Great Empress is quite concerned about you. If you have feelings for her, I could inquire about her sentiments on your behalf.”

“Brother Anytus, I implore you not to. My time here may be brief, and I wouldn’t want to disappoint her expectations,” Qiang Nantie replied.

After studying Qiang Nantie intently, Anytus posed the question, “How can you be so sure that all of this isn’t just a dream?”

“Brother Anytus, what’s the meaning behind your words?”

Qiang Nantie sensed that Anytus was dropping hints. When he glanced at Anytus, he was met with a cryptic smile, but no explanation followed.

In the subsequent days, Qiang Nantie continued to engage with Anytus in their usual discussions on the profound truths of the universe, all the while learning mysterious things from one another.

At times, he felt as though he had grasped something significant, yet at other times, he felt utterly clueless.

Their mutual learning proved to be immensely beneficial for both.

The Empress’s gaze upon Qiang Nantie took on a peculiar quality. Qiang Nantie bore no ill will towards the Empress, but he knew he didn’t belong to this time or this world.

He couldn’t afford to disappoint her.

His only option was to keep his distance and figure out how to conclude the Trial as swiftly as possible.

Meanwhile, Anytus’s insights into the Tai-Chi and Eight Trigrams deepened. While Qiang Nantie had been of considerable assistance, Anytus’s progress was largely attributed to his innate talent.

Generously sharing his knowledge, Anytus began crafting cultivation techniques for humanity, aiming to empower them against the relentless attacks of ferocious beasts.

On the Prehistoric Continent, humanity was frail. A single Mutant Beast could annihilate an entire tribe.

Human tribes were frequently on the brink of extinction. Anytus’s goal was to fortify the human race, ensuring they wouldn’t fall prey to the Mutant Beasts.

His actions held deep significance for the future of humanity.

Qiang Nantie, having never learned any formal cultivation techniques, brought a fresh perspective with his knowledge of the body and unique insights—expertise that Anytus lacked.

He began assisting Anytus in refining the ancient human cultivation practices. Their progress was slow, but they were deeply engrossed in their work, often forgetting to eat or sleep.

Monima and the Empress were far from pleased with this obsession.

Yet, their robust constitutions, coupled with the dense spiritual energy of the land, meant that even without sleep for a week straight, they suffered no ill effects.

Time flew by. In just half a month, they had perfected the first ancient scripture for human cultivation.

However, Qiang Nantie believed it was essential to document the ancient scriptures. He discussed this with Anytus, saying, “If we rely solely on oral tradition to pass down these ancient scriptures, there’s a risk they could be lost. It would be far better to record them in writing.”

“What is writing?” Anytus inquired, his curiosity piqued.

“We can capture the Ancient Scriptures of Human Clan using pictorial representations, allowing our entire clan to learn them. Even if future generations forget, the scriptures will endure as long as the writing remains,” Qiang Nantie explained.

​”That’s a noble act!” Anytus exclaimed, delighted by the idea.

And so, they set out to create a written language. They began by sketching shapes on the ground. But Qiang Nantie was startled to find he couldn’t produce modern script—it was as though he had forgotten how to write.

He was taken aback because he knew how to write in modern text, yet he was unable to do so.

It dawned on him that the current world wasn’t ready for such writing. They needed to start with the oldest forms of text.

Thus, they had no choice but to invent their own script. Qiang Nantie could only suggest to Anytus that he draw characters based on the shapes of animals.

Later, Qiang Nantie proposed that Anytus carve the characters onto a turtle shell.

That’s how the first bone script came into being.

When the engraving of the Ancient Scriptures of Human Clan was complete, a burst of golden light erupted from the turtle shell, forming golden letters. A multicolored light bathed the earth and shone upon them.

Qiang Nantie and Anytus were once again enveloped in an illusory state, reminiscent of the time Anytus grasped the Tai-Chi and Eight Trigrams.

This time, Qiang Nantie returned to the chaotic space. Words began to emerge on the ancient scroll, exactly the script he and Anytus had created.

“So that’s how this ancient scroll is meant to be used,” he realized.

​Yet, he sensed the situation was more complex than it seemed.

This was the manifestation of his Heart of Rainbow Lord and the Yin-Yang Energy.

He had the feeling something was amiss, likely because the ancient scroll was incomplete.

He sensed that once the ancient scroll was restored, his Trial would be complete.

A profound understanding washed over him as spiritual energy from the heavens and earth flowed ceaselessly into his body.

Anytus experienced the same, both of them fervently drawing in the spiritual energy of the cosmos.

The Black Tortoise reaped immense benefits, contentedly squinting its eyes to savor the boundless spiritual energy sea.

A phoenix’s call echoed, and a fiery bird soared above, eventually joining the two to bask in the spiritual energy abundance.

Subsequently, an Azure Dragon perched in the clouds sensed something amiss. It swooped down, shrinking to a mere few meters, and settled beside them.

Within the primeval forest, a winged White Tiger took flight and descended near them. These mystical beasts possessed great intelligence, seemingly standing guard over Qiang Nantie and Anytus.

As the four mystical beasts slumbered by their side, two Tai-Chi Formations emerged from within them.

Ultimately, they merged into a single Tai-Chi Formation.

Anytus embodied Yin, Qiang Nantie Yang, with the four mystical beasts anchoring the cardinal points. The entire Prehistoric Continent’s inhabitants inexplicably felt the emergence of an immensely formidable force!

Indeed, something extraordinary was unfolding on the Prehistoric Continent.
