Chapter 758 Blood's power
The body of the first wounded crystal dragon began to get red, thanks to the blood.
Rain could sense the dragons flying around, but he couldn't see their movements even though the dust was around… while Rain was hesitating, the basilisk dragons got rid of the crystal spears in their mouths.
"They won't use the poison anymore since I can counter it and their mouth will be destroyed," Rain and then flew backward only to be almost smashed by another invisible crystal dragon. "I can't let them do this forever…"
Before Rain could come up with a plan, the basilisk dragons finally made their move. They were fearsome creatures with an uncanny ability to absorb mana from their surroundings. Their method was quite unsettling—they used their wide, gaping mouths to suck in all the mana present in the air. Rain could sense the tangible pull as if an invisible force was drawing the mana towards them.
Their ability wasn't limited to just ambient mana; it was so potent that it even affected the mana within the magic barriers. Rain was keenly aware of this capability, having learned about it previously from Isa. Their mastery over absorbing mana was a testament to their formidable strength and a significant threat in the ongoing conflict.
"This just keeps getting better and better…" Rain thought as he felt a bit of his mana being sucked as well.
In the end, Rain charged toward the basilisk dragons as fast as he could, but then he collided against an invisible crystal dragon… Still, he had expected and his ice blades cut some scales of the monster and froze the area hit. Rain immediately jumped backward and hit the area with a barrage of crystal spears.
The dragon screamed in pain as the spears pierced and made the frozen part fall apart. At that point, Rain could feel that he was getting surrounded, so he was forced to stop the attack and run away.
"I have to make more definitive moves…" Rain thought while looking over his shoulder and finally could see the transparent silhouette of the invisible dragons chasing him. "I have to start killing them one at a time."
Without any other choice, Rain used the seals. The dragons felt the aura of their target changing, and slowed down a bit… but soon Rain charged at them… without any hesitation, he flew in a straight line toward the crystal dragon that he just hurt and Rain pierced the wound on the chest with all his might.
The impact between them caused a shockwave that made the air vibrate and sent all the dust flying around in the distance… Still, Rain was able to reach the heart of the creature and drench himself in blood, but all the blood was sucked by one of the rings.
Without hesitation, Rain fired crystal spears around to rip apart the body of the monster and prevent regeneration and much to his surprise, the spears had not only grown in side, but in piercing power as well.
"I guess the more blood of this type of dragon I get, the more I will be able to use its abilities… what if I get all the blood of this guy?" Rain wondered.

…
Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, that dragon died a lot sooner than Rain could try to improve the ring with blood… moreover, he saw the gem on the ring cracking a bit… it seemed that the ring reached its limits considering how much mana was used to craft them.
The dead dragon began to fall after it stopped being invisible and before Rain could leave the hole he made in the body, the creature was bombarded by countless crystal spears that prevented Rain from leaving it…
At that rate, Rain will cross the magic barrier and he will be in a bind… that was going to hurt, but he didn't have any other choice.
Rain flew out of the hole with all his might and he tried to dodge the endless barrage of attacks. With his speed, he almost pulled that off, by several of them scratched him, but with their speed, just scratches ripped apart his flesh and caused massive damage… when Rain left the zone of attack, his body was already covered in blood…
"The ice armor that I made was to make me move faster…" Rain thought while he was running away again. "It can't be helped that it failed to protect me…"
At least by running away, the basilisk dragons were forced to stop sucking mana and had to chase Rain… it was better to eliminate them first.
Rain's first idea to deal with the situation was to absorb the crystal spears with his ring, but since they had a physical form unlike the poison, they would cause damage with the impact and the ring won't last long… in any case, Rain's wounds were mended fast thanks to the power of the first seal and soon he turned around to face them again.
However, soon Rain began to fly to the side and then attacked the basilisk dragons with a barrage of crystal spears… the ring that had become red with the crystal dragon blood slowly began to return to normal…
The basilisk dragons began to get covered in wounds since the power of the spears had increased, and it didn't seem like they were getting weaker the more the ring was used… it looked like the more blood it absorbed, the more powerful the projectiles got, but at the same time, the sooner they would lose that ability. That didn't take long, and Rain was actually waiting for that…
When that happened, the crystal dragons got closer to Rain, but he flew toward the basilisk dragons… while they covered themselves in the poison clouds, Rain just flew downward toward the massive blood of the beasts that had fallen on the barrier.
