Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 786 Teleport

This time, Rain's movements were driven by a strange mix of agony, determination, and an unwavering commitment to continue the fight. He knew that he couldn't let the fire beam hit him again, so Rain flew around up and down to avoid the attacks until he reached the mouth of another meteor dragon and then he cut it through with the dark ice blades… with sheer power and speed

Rain's sudden attack made the meteor and volcan dragons stop attacking the city, but the golem and tyrant dragons reached the place.

He barely could see things with his foggy mind, but he could see confusion there… the raging phoenix was trying to stop the beasts and the sea folk arrived to help them… at the same time, Seadrei knocked down Seara with a strike on her stomach with the butt of his spear.

"What are you doing?" Terra asked with her eyes wide open in surprise.

"... This is his plan," Seadrei said.

Rain's sisters didn't hear of that plan and Terra didn't hear anything either. Soon after, Asche, Liss, Roan, Jori and Reca arrived on the area and they could tell that they couldn't win. Still, they could see Rain still fighting. He was planning to buy time for them… with his life.

"... As if I am going to run and live my son behind," Roan said and then he raised his sword to block Seadrei's strike on his stomach.

"It was too obvious, huh?" Seadrei asked. "Well, he said that it wouldn't be easy…"

Seadrei's spear began to glow for a moment and everyone around was engulfed in a large water sphere, before they could jump away from it… they felt their bodies getting lighter and their minds getting foggy.

"He told me to use this… using water to take the water from your bodies, it is quite the idea…" Seadrei said.

Without Seara to buff everyone with her magic, no one was able to fight that and one after the other they began to fall unconscious… before running away with all his might to the castle, Seadrei looked around and then saw Seadir also carrying some people with him on his shoulders.

His generals looked at him as well and nodded silently… Rain wasn't the only one who was planning to sacrifice himself there. Cor was still leading the raging phoenix in the place of the other generals, Artisia was still controlling her sea dragon and fighting alongside the other sea monsters…

That single moment of hesitation was enough for the enemy to have the chance to launch their attack… a twenty meters wide meteor fell from the sky toward Seadir and the others… it would be big enough to wipe out the whole capital, but Rain arrived in time to fly toward it and pass through the projectile making it explode in the air…

When Rain stopped moving, people saw him in the air with his arms limbing and his feet gone… he had absorbed a lot of heat, but he had paid a price as well. Still, at least he achieved one of his goals… he didn't imagine that he would have to go that far, though.

The heat was no longer making him feel that much pain, so it looked like Rain finally made his body evolve… but it didn't mean that he couldn't receive damage against it.

Rain's appearance was a haunting sight to see. His once robust and resilient form was now a charred and desiccated shell, resembling a withered leaf scorched by relentless flames. The burns marred his entire body, leaving behind a landscape of raw, blistered skin, reminiscent of parched earth in the wake of an unrelenting inferno… it looked like he didn't even have water in his body.

Despite this excruciating ordeal, Rain pushed through the torment, his determination unyielding. Ignoring the ravages upon his physical form, he focused intently on finding the dragon god's presence amidst the chaos and destruction unfolding around him.

"I will kill him, I will kill him, I will kill him, I will kill him, I will kill him…" Rain thought.

In any other condition, Rain would be thankful by the fact that his friends and family couldn't see him, but he couldn't do that since the corrupt power of the sin had completely overtaken him… his remaining mental strenght had been used to block the meteor that targeted those he cherished for and now he wanted only to kill the dragon god… there was no fear, no desire for power, peace or anything else… he only wanted to kill him.

"You want to see me? You should have said so. I suppose I can at least meet you in person since we have the same background."

In a sudden shift of events, the familiar surroundings dissipated, and Rain found himself in an utterly unfamiliar and surreal environment. The abrupt change left him disoriented as if the fabric of reality had been torn away, and he was abruptly transported to an inexplicable, peculiar realm.

It appeared that the dragon god, in an act beyond Rain's comprehension, had used the power to whisk him away from the chaotic battleground to an enigmatic and unfamiliar place.

The first thing saw were some weird, colossal line in the sky, extending outwards in a dazzling array of icy particles, rock fragments, and dust. Thanks to Rain's amazing eyesight, he could tell that the line was composed of countless orbiting particles, create a stunning and ethereal landscape against the dark backdrop of space… he was teleported to another world…
