Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 894: Come to the dark side

Rain returned to the outside world and then decided to look for a place where he could do some experiments, but the island wasn't big enough to give him the privacy that he wanted. Even though it was hundreds of kilometers long and wide…

Although Rain wanted to see Sealyn as well, he decided to ask Isa for help in that regard, and he also needed help from someone from there who would help him hide the relics he just got, at least temporarily.

"You really want to annoy your wife and put me in a difficult spot, don't you?" Isa asked when Rain showed up.

Isa was working on making some relics to help in the fight. It didn't look like she had fought until now, but no one around was making a fuss about that. That was probably for the best since people would discover her origins. Regardless, Rain explained to her a bit about the situation and the fact that he needed a large space and isolated as well to do some experiments.

"As usual, you come and go like a storm," Isa said while rubbing her eyes.

"I have my moments, anyway. Can you help me with that?" Rain asked.

Isa's concerns increased thanks to the pressing issues and the fact that Rain seemed to be keeping certain information from her. Her apprehension stemmed from the understanding that Rain's current situation involved larger challenges and complexities, and he might not be telling everything to her due to the necessity of exchanging information in a more secure and comprehensive manner.

Rain believed that complete and precise information exchanges were vital, emphasizing that certain facts and details should be shared appropriately rather than given away easily without proper consideration.

Isa acknowledged that some information might be better kept hidden or shared discreetly, understanding the significance of maintaining confidentiality in certain matters, especially amidst the impending conflict and the intricate dynamics surrounding relics, alliances, and potential adversaries.

"I told you that you would be left alone if you didn't do anything too big, but I can't guarantee you if you do that now," Isa said.

"It is cool, I have another idea to deal with future problems, and if it is to fail, I won't run away from the consequences," Rain said. "Regardless, time is of the essence. I know a few places that I can use, but they are pretty far away and I want to conserve my mana."

"Right… I learned from you and over the years I also started to make my own shelter to do some experiments and also to store away a bunch of things," Isa said. "I have an underground warehouse that you can use. Don't destroy my stuff there."

"I will be using a lot of mana there, won't that make people have an easy time finding me?" Rain asked.

"The place completely isolates mana, so you will be fine," Isa said.

Rain had forgotten about the anti-magic barriers… perhaps he should give some information that will make Isa teach him that technique. Then again, that barrier seemed a bit different. They still could come in handy, though.

"All right, I will use that… but first, I will see some people, I forgot that I could do something for them," Rain said.

Isa frowned for a bit but then nodded. While everyone was busy, Rain crossed the area and looked for Seara and Sealyn… he had to make them enjoy the effects of the parameter boost. That would increase the difference in their strength once more, but it couldn't be helped. Rain was fine with that as long as they could survive the fights without serious injuries.

On the other hand, Rain wondered if he should help Seadrei with the same technique… he still had his issues with him, after all. That being said, Seadrei was also a force that could decrease Sealyn's workload.

While Rain was thinking about that, Rain found those three in the commander's tent… Seadrei looked pretty beaten up considering that he was always at the very frontlines. He had some fresh wounds in his body that had yet to completely heal… in the end, Rain sighed as he approached them and made them obtain the effects of his domain.

"See you guys later," Rain said.

As the effects of the parameter boost took hold, Seara, Sealyn, and Seadrei experienced an almost instantaneous increase in their strength. Their bodies glowed momentarily, enveloped in an ethereal aura as the enhancement took root, exponentially elevating their capabilities. It was as though an invisible force had amplified their physical and magical prowess to an unexpected level.

Wide-eyed and astonished, the trio felt an overwhelming rush of energy coursing through their veins. They exchanged incredulous glances, shocked by the sudden, profound increase in their abilities. The transformation was so abrupt and intense that it left them momentarily speechless, trying to comprehend what had just happened.

However, by the time they gathered their wits and looked around, Rain had vanished from the tent, leaving behind a sense of shock and awe. Their surroundings were abuzz with murmurs and surprised whispers, the people around witnessing the sudden augmentation of strength in them and were left even more shocked..

The bystanders, witnessing the immediate spike in their powers, were taken aback, unable to fathom the abrupt enhancement. Some speculated in hushed tones that Rain might have employed a form of suspicious magic to manipulate their senses, unable to comprehend the remarkable and sudden growth in the trio's abilities.

When Rain returned to Isa's tent, he wondered if he should let her take advantage of the Parameter Boost technique as well… Rain didn't even know how strong she was, after all. Since she wasn't fighting, perhaps she didn't need that. Still, she was a friend as well, and with that much help perhaps she would feel indebted enough to teach Rain a bunch of things.

"Isa, do you want power?" Rain asked. "Come to the dark side."

"... What?" Isa frowned.

"The dark side is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be... unnatural," Rain said. "You don't know the true power of the dark side!"
