Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 899: Problem Solver

Larisa explained that no human managed to kill a dragon during their time, combined with Nigel's agreement, that came from their shared understanding and memories.. They draw upon their experiences and knowledge, reflecting on the era they originated from and the limitations faced by humans against dragons.

During the period they recall, dragons held an overwhelming advantage in terms of power, strength, and abilities compared to humans. The immense difference in capabilities made it nearly impossible for humans to successfully combat or slay dragons.

Larisa and Nigel could remember the time when they obtained their powers. They understood that their own ascension to a higher form of existence occurred after they acquired their abilities, but they didn't evolve after that.

"Oh? This is an interesting place…" Isa suddenly said.

Rain opened his eyes widely when he suddenly saw Isa appearing in his mental landscape. He thought that only the relics that could be affected by his domain and himself could come there, but it seemed that his assumptions were wrong… anyone could come as long as they let themselves be completely affected by his domain.

"... Why are you here?" Rain asked.

"Ew… this places suddenly is stinking a lot more than before," Nigel said.

"Feel free to kick him in the balls," Rain said.

"I have some class, so will refrain from it," Isa said while looking around. "I never expected that things would be like this… the spirits within the relics are humans that obtained the power of the dragons, huh? What else do I need to know?"

"Sorry, but I can't reveal that until this sword proves itself to be useful," Rain said. "Besides, I have a fight to prepare for."

Rain left the mental landscape, and Isa was forced to leave as well… in the end, she studied him for a while, trying to understand the secrets that he was still hiding. It was only natural that he would have some, but she didn't think that it would be that many.

"Those guys need dragon blood to become stronger, right?" Isa asked. "If you used a bit of my blood, even that wrench would be forced to cooperate with you."

"I would rather not do that. I have some experiments ready to do with them, so that won't be necessary," Rain said. "Not many good things will come from making those guys get in contact with even more dragon blood. Even though they claim that you stink because of it."

"You know… A while ago, I realized that we had a connection," Isa said.

"Wait, you can say that in front of Seara in order to prove my innocence," Rain said. "I know that I am a sinful man, but even I have my limits."

"Don't get the wrong idea, I was saying that we have some blood relation. My mother had a little brother that most likely was your ancestor," Isa said.

"Why are you getting sentimental all of a sudden? That is raising many death flags," Rain frowned.

"I don't know, I just felt like it all of a sudden," Isa said. "I hide that for many years, so i decided to reveal that."

"That is cool, just don't give more reasons for Seara to headbutt me," Rain said.

Rain' was thankful for Isa's support and friendship, yet the timing of her gift – the suspicious relic with its powerful spirit – raised more questions than answers. Despite his appreciation for her aid, Rain faced a dilemma. He was compelled to focus primarily on the imminent battle against the dragons, needing every possible advantage to ensure success.

The arrival of the new relic and its mysterious spirit complicated matters, changing his attention even for a short moment.

Nigel and Larisa's concern regarding the new ally, despite its similarity to them in terms of origin and time period, also added to Rain's unease. Their worries came from their shared experiences and memories of the era they hail from, where dragons were overwhelmingly powerful and seemingly unbeatable by humans.

In any case, Rain and Isa left the hideout, and they found Seara and Sealyn pretty soon… as one would expect, Seara wasn't happy for seeing them together alone.

"Don't worry, Isa just revealed to me that we are distant relatives. The dragons never showed interest in incest, right? So you don't have to be cautious of her," Rain said.

"... Why the hell are you saying such a thing in front of our daughter?" Seara asked while rubbing her eyes. "Anyway, the dragons are on the move and we want to know what are you going to do?"

"I am going to help indirectly since we can't alert the dragon god," Rain said. "Just act like usual, as if I am not here."

"Considering your plan, how are you going to control that thing without being close?" Isa asked.

"I don't have to be close, I just have to see it," Rain said. "... Still, I can see the flaw in the logic now… I need a few moments to think of a solution."

"... Are you going to control something, why don't you just disguise yourself like a sea warrior?" Seara asked while her patience was running out. "I have some guards usually that people don't know of and I usually stay on the backline, as long as you hide your face and use your domain, that will be fine, right?"

"Yes, you are very smart, Seara," Rain said. "I don't know what I would do without you."

"I already told you countless times that you always try to sweet talk me when you feel guilty over something," Seara said. "Anyway, we are going to talk about this soon. I will bring some armor that you can use. Try not to drown without your wind sphere."

Rain still had to think how he could breathe underwater… his problems never ended. That being said, Rain already knew that was the story of his life. Just like the Imagine Breaker existed, on his right hand existed the Problem Solver. Kind of.
