Infinity's Requiem

The Cursed Forest's Whisper

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting the world in a bloody orange glow, Kaelin made his way to the old windmill on the outskirts of the city. The structure, abandoned for decades, seemed to loom over him, its wooden boards creaking in the wind.

Inside, the Shadow Broker awaited, their hooded figure illuminated by a faint, flickering candlelight. A figure, shrouded in darkness, stood beside them.

"Kaelin Darkhaven, meet Elara, a representative of the hidden sect," the Broker introduced, their voice low and smooth. "They possess knowledge of the Red Viper, and the secrets it holds."

Elara's voice was a whispered promise, sending shivers down Kaelin's spine. "The Red Viper's power is not to be underestimated, Kaelin Darkhaven. But with its aid, you may yet turn the tide of this war. Are you prepared to pay the price?"

The air seemed to thicken, the shadows deepening around them. Kaelin's hand instinctively reached for Umbra's hilt, as if the sword's power could shield him from the unknown.

"What price?" Kaelin asked, his voice firm, though his heart raced with trepidation.

Elara's laughter was a whispered melody, haunting and seductive. "The price of power, Kaelin Darkhaven. The price of destiny. Are you willing to take the first step on the path of the Red Viper?"
