Chapter 404: Nate vs Wood Dragon God

Drasil, City of the Right Hand – Hotel

While a fragment of Nate's consciousness was busy interacting with the Dragon Eater Guild in [Dragon Hunter], his physical body returned to the hotel to hold a strategy meeting with Natsu and Wendy.

“So, that’s the situation,” Nate explained.

After listening, Natsu rubbed his chin, tilting his head in confusion. His eyes held the same perplexity as someone listening to an advanced math lecture.

“So what you’re saying is… smash the crystals in the five cities to summon the Wood Dragon God?”

Happy rolled his eyes and chimed in, “No, Natsu. Breaking the crystals will release Aldoron’s seal.”

“Ugh, this is so annoying. So, should we break them or not?” Natsu groaned. “The Hundred-Years Quest is to seal the Dragon Gods. Does this count as sealing?”

“No,” Nate clarified while tapping away on a virtual keyboard. “The five crystals are self-imposed seals that Aldoron created to suppress his own growing power.”

Wendy leaned closer, curious. “Nate, what are you working on?”

“Making preparations to defeat Aldoron,” Nate replied without looking up. “There are a lot of innocent civilians living in the five cities. I’m setting up a plan to transport all of them to safety in one go. Then, we’ll handle the Wood Dragon God.”

Using Aether Weaving to modify the rules of reality, teleportation would be effortless. Although the Flying Thunder God technique could do something similar, Aether Weaving made the process far more convenient.

One issue to resolve was how to distinguish between “innocent civilians” and those who weren’t. A significant portion of the city’s residents were actually treefolk—creatures created by Aldoron himself.

For Nate, this wasn’t much of a challenge. He simply programmed the system to exclude anyone with magic power from the teleportation target group. After all, even in a magic world, the majority of the population consisted of ordinary people.

“So… how do we fight something this massive?” Carla asked, crossing her arms in exasperation.

Nate chuckled. “Aldoron has five God Seeds. Think of them as avatars—fragments of his power that serve as guardians for each city and the crystals within them.”

Hearing this, Natsu immediately counted on his fingers. “One, two, three, four… plus me, that’s five people!”

He beamed with excitement.

Happy, however, looked horrified. “Don’t include me as a fighter, Natsu!”

“Same here!” Carla agreed, surprisingly aligning with Happy for once.

“Don’t worry, I’ll find reinforcements,” Nate said, amused by the two cats.

He snapped his fingers, and a glowing Flying Thunder God magic circle appeared on the floor nearby.

From the circle, two women emerged.

“Who are they?” Wendy asked, tilting her head in surprise.

Brandish, holding her signature icy drink, glanced around before noticing Nate. She raised an eyebrow and asked calmly, “Your Majesty, did you summon me?”

Beside her, Dimaria sighed and facepalmed. “Brandish, how are you so calm?”

Upon spotting Nate, Dimaria immediately knelt on one knee and greeted him respectfully. “Your Majesty!”

“There’s no need for that. Stand up,” Nate said, exasperated. He always found such formal gestures unnecessary. In contrast, he preferred Brandish’s more casual demeanor.

“Nate, who are they?” Wendy asked, clearly astonished.

Natsu jumped to his feet, pupils trembling as he sensed their overwhelming magic power. “What terrifying magic power! It’s even scarier than the master’s!”

By Nate’s magic power ranking, these two women were clearly above nine stars.

Nate placed a hand on Natsu’s shoulder, gently pushing him back into his seat. “Let me introduce them. I inherited the Alvarez Empire in the Western Continent, and I’m now its emperor. These two are members of the Empire’s 12 Spriggan.”

Wendy let out a sigh of relief. “So they’re reinforcements.”

Brandish, still calm, asked, “Your Majesty, why have you summoned us?”

“I need your help dealing with one of the five Dragon Gods—the Wood Dragon God.” Nate quickly explained the situation, then added, “By the way, how’s the task of sealing the ten thousand dragons going?”

“It’s… still ongoing,” Brandish replied, setting down her icy drink.

After all, it had only been a few days. Even with their strength, sealing ten thousand dragons was an arduous task. So far, they had sealed fewer than five hundred.

“Let’s put the other dragons aside for now. Today, we deal with the Wood Dragon God.”

With that, Nate began assigning tasks.

There were five cities, and everyone was assigned to one. Wendy and Carla were paired together, Natsu and Happy formed another team, and Brandish and Dimaria would act solo. Lastly, Nate himself would take charge of the city beneath them—Right Palm City.

“One hour from now, I will teleport all innocent civilians out of the cities. By then, you should all be in position near your assigned crystals,” Nate explained. “At that moment, the God Seeds will reveal themselves.”

Happy raised his paw. “Commander, wait! Didn’t you say breaking the crystals would restore the Wood Dragon God’s power?”

“That’s the plan,” Nate replied with a confident smile. “Don’t worry. Even at full power, he’s no match for me.”

And so, everyone set out on their missions.

Nate created a group chat titled “Operation: Wood Dragon God” for coordination.

One Hour Later

Natsu: “Nate, Natsu’s squad is in position!”

Carla: “Wendy and I are ready as well.”

Dimaria: “Your Majesty, I’m set!”

Brandish: “Your Majesty, there’s an amazing ice cream shop here! It’s so delicious!”

Momentarily speechless, Nate thought, Why is the tone so different with you?

Nate: “Fine, go ahead and eat it. You have three minutes. After that, I’m teleporting everyone out.”

After all, he was a kind ruler. A little indulgence wouldn’t hurt.

Exactly three minutes later—whether Brandish was finished or not—Nate activated his plan.

A massive silver-white magic circle materialized high above the Wood Dragon God, large enough to encompass all five cities. The circle had a staggering diameter of over thirty kilometers.

Countless citizens looked up, startled by the sight.

“What’s happening? A magic circle?!”

“It’s enormous! Who could have cast something like that?”

“Wait… people are disappearing! What’s going on?!”

Amid the panicked cries, those who had magic power noticed a strange phenomenon: people around them were vanishing in flashes of white light.

In a single moment, millions of innocent citizens from all five cities were teleported to safety.

In the current era, no one else in the world could have managed such a feat. Only Nate, with his immense magic power and Aether Weaving, could sustain it.

Nate hovered in the sky, hands casually tucked into his pockets, silently watching the chaos below.

The commotion roused the Wood Dragon God, whose enormous head slowly rose from its resting position.

“So big… yet so pointless. Can’t even control its own size?” Nate mused, pulling his right hand out of his pocket and extending it toward the dragon’s head.

“Super Magic: Fairy Glitter!”

Suddenly, the sky darkened as if night had fallen. The light of countless stars converged, forming a massive golden ring around the Wood Dragon God’s neck.

Fairy Glitter—a super magic that gathered and condensed the radiance of the sun, moon, and stars—was a merciless, annihilating force that left no chance for its target.

The colossal golden ring shimmered with the intent to sever the dragon’s enormous head.

“Activate.”

Nate’s fingers clenched into a fist.
