Chapter 406: White God Mode in Action!
High in the sky, the cursed black orb—formed by the expanding power of the curse—swallowed the enormous platform made of tree branches.
The curse, which devours all life force, was so potent that even the withered branches could not resist. They succumbed, disintegrating into dust and vanishing without a trace.
A spherical object plummeted from above, crashing directly into Right Palm City. With a resounding thud, it tore through a building.
Tainted by the curse, the sphere turned pitch black and crumbled into dust, exactly as the platform had.
From the rubble rose the God Seed of Aldoron. He gazed at the massive cursed orb in the sky, a hint of fear in his heart.
“What is that? This is no human power!”
Above him, the black orb—compressed back to its original palm-sized form—was held aloft by Nate, who hovered in midair. His gaze was locked on the God Seed of Aldoron.
“Before coming here, I dealt with the Water Dragon God,” Nate began. “Unlike you, he was at least somewhat benevolent. You, on the other hand, are purely a wicked dragon—a sworn enemy of humanity.”
“You built these five cities over a century, didn’t you? How many people have you killed over the years?”
“How many?” Aldoron’s God Seed straightened slowly, replying with cold indifference, “Who bothers counting mere nutrients?”
“Although I must admit, humans do make surprisingly excellent nourishment. Thanks to their sacrifices, I’ve gained the power I now wield.”
“If you’d faced me a century ago, the power you just released might’ve posed a problem.”
Nate raised an eyebrow, a faint smile tugging at his lips. “Let me correct you—you’re mistaken. I didn’t ‘unleash’ that power. I merely unsealed it.”
Hearing this, Aldoron’s God Seed felt his heart sink.
So that black magic wasn’t even the human’s own power. The massive force just now hadn’t been a deliberate attack—it was only the leftover energy from unsealing something.
“You’re too dangerous, human!”
A green glow appeared in the God Seed’s palm as he raised his hand.
“Forest of Swords!”
Sharp spikes sprang from Aldoron’s colossal body, firing into the sky like a barrage of spears.
Nate merely willed a milky-white magical shield into being around himself. The instant the spikes struck the shield, they halted and hung motionless in midair.
Thud, thud, thud, thud!
Countless spikes encircled Nate, forming what looked like a spiked orb.
“Don’t you have something a bit more extravagant?” Nate’s voice echoed from within. “Something dramatic like Deep Forest Emergence, perhaps?”
A sudden pulse of energy blasted outward, repelling the spikes and sending them cascading like arrows in all directions.
“Hmph! Mere human!” Aldoron’s God Seed scoffed. “How long can you possibly maintain this?”
He redirected the scattered spikes to attack again, but Nate only shook his head.
“You clearly have no idea how the magic world stands right now. Let me put it in terms your limited mind can grasp…”
“My magic is infinite.”
As he spoke, the milky-white shield ballooned to a hundred meters in diameter. This ever-flowing magic nullified every last spike.
Aldoron’s God Seed was stunned.
How was this possible?
Such continuous magic output would exhaust any normal human in seconds. Yet here was a man who could sustain it indefinitely?
Infinite magic?
“Who… What are you?!”
“You don’t need to know,” Nate answered dismissively. He had no intention of explaining himself to a dragon about to die.
Meanwhile, battles had erupted in the other four cities as well. Nate sensed Natsu and the others clashing fiercely with the remaining God Seeds.
At that moment, a fleet of magic airships arrived from the eastern sky.
On the command ship:
“Commander Robert, look! Someone’s fighting in the sky!” A mage pointed at Nate in astonishment. “Is he battling Aldoron?”
Commander Robert issued an order without hesitation:
“Avoid him! Confirm that Aldoron has awakened—this ancient monster must not run rampant. If we lose here, humanity is finished. The entire continent will fall into chaos!”
Through telepathic magic, his commands echoed across the fleet:
“Fire the Magic Convergent Cannon: Uranus! Open fire!”
In an instant, dozens of airships extended their gun barrels, unleashing volleys of concentrated magical energy, each shot more powerful than the Jupiter Cannon’s focused beam.
However—
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The blasts rained down upon Aldoron’s massive body, but they might as well have been gentle taps. Despite the fiery spectacle, they did no visible damage.
“What are they doing?”
Observing the fleet, Nate couldn’t help but scoff internally. Human magic weaponry was useless against a dragon.
Even a coordinated strike by dozens of Dragon Slayers would barely scratch Aldoron.
Aldoron’s God Seed furrowed his brow in irritation. Though these attacks couldn’t harm him, the buzzing of these “flies” was vexing.
“Get lost!”
“Deadwood Forest!!”
At his roar, dead trees erupted from the ground below, rising like colossal spikes. Their withered branches aimed straight for the airships’ power systems.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The Magic Council’s advance fleet was destroyed in a heartbeat, reduced to flaming wreckage that plummeted from the sky in blazing arcs.
“Seriously…?”
Nate was speechless. It seemed that, regardless of the continent, the Magic Council always displayed the same amateurish tactics. At the very least, they could have sent some continent-class mages, like the Ten Wizard Saints.
“White God Mode!”
Because they were, after all, still the Magic Council, Nate decided to lend a hand.
Merging with the Fairy Heart in a flash, he transformed into a pure-white mage. With a graceful motion, he waved his hand and rewound time.
Flaming debris reassembled into intact airships as the flow of time reversed.
The troops aboard them stood dumbfounded, unable to fathom what had just occurred.
Meanwhile, Aldoron’s God Seed was overwhelmed, staring at Nate’s pure-white form in disbelief.
“What is this now?!”
What was with this human?
All of a sudden, the figure in the sky dissolved into brilliant white photons that vanished—only to re-form before Aldoron a moment later.
With a swift horizontal kick, Nate struck Aldoron’s head.
Caught off guard, Aldoron’s God Seed went hurtling through dozens of buildings, smashing his way across half the city before finally skidding to a halt at the far edge.
“Damn it, I can’t even see his movements! Is that teleportation?!”
Rising from the wreckage, Aldoron’s God Seed steadied himself, his face shattered. Half of it was gone, revealing a mesh of withered branches beneath. These immediately began repairing the damage, trying to restore his features.
But before he could recover, white photons gathered above him once more.
A hand seized the back of his skull, slamming his face into the ground with crushing force.
Aldoron’s features ground into the earth as Nate fully materialized above him.
“With this level of strength, you dare claim you’ve surpassed the Black Dragon?”
Aldoron’s God Seed reeled.
What was this being?
He wasn’t human at all!
Even in his formidable God Seed form, he was completely at this man’s mercy.
What do you think?
